What is Availity?

Availity is designed to help businesses in the healthcare industry manage medical benefits, insurance claims, and payment authorizations on a unified platform. The integrated revenue cycle management system enables healthcare professionals to log and track revenue from initial appointments to final payments.

The platform allows administrators to capture and store patients’ details in a centralized repository, submit claims in bulk, and receive real-time notifications for status updates. Features of Availity include HIPAA compliance, communications management, analytics, collaboration, permission management, and more. It offers a provider portal, which enables insurance providers to collect information related to insurance premiums, payments, payers, and more in real-time.

Availity offers an API, which lets businesses integrate the system with several third-party medical practice management, electronic health record (EHR), and hospital information systems (HIS). It also helps imaging centers to access patients’ contact details or clinical records, configure workflows, and view real-time estimates based on contract rates or discount programs.
