Comm-unity overview

What is Comm-unity?

Comm-unity by NetFortris (formerly Fonality) is a cloud-based business VoIP software offering users a business phone system and contact center solution, whatever their business size. As standard, the software includes unlimited calls and basic call queues, automated greetings, and basic features such as call forwarding and routing, ring all, and voicemail, in all subscriptions, with additional features available in the more extensive packages. Paperless faxing and continuous call recording are also available as add-ons.

Comm-unity is available both through a web browser and as native iOS and Android apps, giving users access both in and outside of the office. Through the HUD, users can access the full company directory and see colleague availability, add external contacts, set their own preferences, see recent calls, chat with colleagues, start video conferences, share files, and more.

Comm-unity allows users to manage their voicemails through their phone, email or desktop, with voicemails available both as audio recordings and text transcriptions, which can be sent to users by email or SMS. Users can also create personalized call routing, such as simultaneously ringing multiple devices or phone numbers, and setting specific rules for VIP callers to prevent their calls being missed.

Comm-unity also includes emergency management capabilities, allowing users to route callers to alternative locations or change auto-attendant options and greetings in situations where emergencies or unforeseen events prevent workers from being able to reach the office.

Key benefits of using Comm-unity

Comm-unity's emergency management and recovery capabilities allow users to adjust greetings and auto-attendants or route callers to alternative locations in the case of an emergency preventing workers from reaching the office.

Users can set rules to ring multiple numbers or devices simultaneously to prevent calls from being missed, and create specific routing rules for VIP callers.

Comm-unity includes a click-to-dial browser plugin that changes phone numbers on a webpage into clickable links, which trigger the dialing of that number by the attached telephone or softphone.

Voicemails are transcribed and sent to users via email or SMS.

Users can set up interactive video meetings for up to 50 attendees, with options for screen sharing.
