User opinions about Bitbucket price and value

Value for money rating:

Of 158 reviews that provide robust commentary on Bitbucket's price and value, 75% mention it in a positive light.

Most reviewers indicate that Bitbucket offers strong value for money, especially for small teams and startups. They appreciate that the free plan supports private repositories and includes essential features for up to five users, making it a cost-effective choice for freelancers and small businesses. Reviewers find the pricing model flexible and competitive, particularly for those who need private repositories or are already using other Atlassian products. They say the free tier provides generous options and storage, and users can access many core functionalities without paying. Some reviewers find the transition to paid plans reasonable as their teams grow, noting that additional features like advanced permissions become available.

However, some users report that Bitbucket’s value for money decreases as team size increases. They say the cost rises steeply after surpassing the free user limit, making it less feasible for larger teams or growing businesses. Some reviewers feel the paid plans are expensive compared to competitors, especially when factoring in build minutes, storage, or integrations with other Atlassian tools. Users indicate that the pricing structure can be confusing, and some essential features are locked behind higher tiers. They mention that scaling costs and per-user charges can be a drawback for organizations with expanding needs.

Jira logo
Jira

Integration rating: 4.8 (53)

The most important part of creating the development cycle around the new tool was having the status, flags, reference to PR, and tags between the two tools.

We manage our coding tasks in Jira. Having the Jira tickets integrated with Bitbucket helps keep track of what changes were done under what ticket.

Bitbucket integrates easily with all atlassian products which is great. It means we can reference a ticket and link it to any work that is done

Integration with Atlassian suite is one of the main reasons people have chosen BitBucket, compared to Github and Gitlab.

The Jira integration works perfectly and allows us to keep track of the tasks and their development

Because we need to track the compatibility of our code changes and updates with the codebase.

We use it to create branches directly from tickets in Jira and manage our codes based on it

We can directly go to the ticket for that particular checkin, which saves a lot of time

the integration between Bitbucket and Confluence has been incredibly important and beneficial for our web development project. It has streamlined our documentation and code collaboration, enhanced knowledge sharing, and improved the overall efficiency of our development processes

Having everything at hand, without having to switch platforms and having all the tools and documentation connected, helps both to save time and to have a clear overview of what you are working on.

We use confluence for documentation and using documentaions parallely with code is really helpful as it make code easy to read and review.
