What is Microsoft Access?

Microsoft Access is a database management system that can create functional database apps for any business purpose. By integrating Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Access can create unique business apps, automate important business processes, and consolidate information for forms and reports. Using the Access' connector library, users can seamlessly integrate third-party business apps to generate aggregated visuals and insights for any report or app.

Benefits of using Microsoft Access

  • Create apps easier with built-in templates that can also be created using existing apps.

  • Create user-friendly forms to help automate business processes.

  • The DB can store valuable data in SQL Server as well as Azure SQL for better security, reliability, scalability, and manageability.

  • Utilizes standard SQL syntax for better compatibility and a more mission-critical back-end.

  • Easy to learn, especially for the existing Excel users, and provides different ways of accomplishing the same task.

    Pros
Microsoft Access is a database management solution that is among the best. It has a very good user interface and is very easy to use.
I am very impressed about the reliability in handling regular size databases, and the best part is that you can write your own SQL commands.
The ability to mine through data through the use of simple queries came in handy. Additionally, through the use of primary keys, duplications were next to impossible which was super helpful.
    Cons
The weakness in cloud capability and the lack of integration with other external software.
Microsoft Access sometimes have illogical errors and to solve them I have to reopen it.
The most annoying feature is that each object needs to be closed before you edit anything. Why they couldn't have engineered it to just update the object/table regardless is a mystery to me.
