I was very impressed with the access I had to get questions answered promptly. Suggestions were given on how we could have a more successful auction. It was great to work with [SENSITIVE CONTENT] He really knows his product. I have worked with other on-line auctions and they did not hold up in comparison to Better World. I will recommend them to anyone I can now and in the future.
It was easy to understand. It is intuitive and they clearly were able to anticipate the needs the customer has in order to run a successful auction !
I think the tutorials are well done but I found it so much more beneficial since it was my first time, to use their concierge service. It was well worth the modest price.

From the beginning to the end, this experience has been AMAZING! We used GoFundMe for crowdsourcing before we knew BetterWorld existed and I will never use them again. As soon as I found out about BetterWorld, I requested a Zoom meeting to go over the software and get a tour. My tour guide just happened to be the [SENSITIVE CONTENT]. I went from not even being able to place a phone call to GoFundMe...
The best part is how easy it is to use; entering items, processing payments, list of winners. There's a huge database of pictures to coincide with the auction items. The experiences they offer are items we would have never had access to without their relationships. But my favorite feature is the customer service. If I got stuck or had I question, I jumped on the live chat & it was answered/fixed in a matter of minutes.
I wish the live chat feature was right on the auction dashboard. I had to jump out of the auction & go to the homepage to use it. But your response was immediate & handled to quickly, that's a small inconvenience.

They denied us a partial refund after paying $950 for a year and only using it a few months to find out we were wasting our time and money.
I liked the spreadsheet of auction winners
The free version sucks as it runs customers away with adding fees to every bid and again at checkout for credit card fees. We paid $950.00 for a year after a few months of using decided to stop wasting our time, asked for partail refund and was denied. It is not phone friendly. It is not incredibly easy to use as they described. It is time-consuming to add pictures. Some customers did not want their credit card info, so they could not bid on auctions without it. We lost customer's, money and denied a partial refund! Big waste of time and Money for our non-profit.

Overall very satisfied and pleased at the minimal work each year when we have our annual Auction again.
It's been super easy to set up new auctions and impact campaigns, and our non-profit school organization volunteers using it have found the learning curve to be minimal. It gets to easier each year because all the work up front can be accessed again like if a donation comes through again in a new auction. We especially liked that our donors could submit their donation items themselves in a submission page, cutting out manual work for our volunteers. Brilliant!
In the beginning we used the free plan but then found that the tipping and offset request was hindering participation from our bidders. While this is a crucial feature for a free product, we found it improved the bidder experience in an auction when we upgraded our account to a premium plan in order to remove the tipping (opt out) request. Wish there was a middle ground alternative to this-- for example ask it at the very end of the auction rather than each bid activity.

I enjoyed creating with the application so much that word spread throughout our little community and the other non-profits in the area started to use it also. I also volunteered to help them with the set up and management as it was fun for me.
The BetterWorld Auction and Raffle application is such a joy to use. They have great instructions for how to set up the Auction. If any questions arise, the staff quickly answers them and will walk you through the process if requested. The interface is very easy to use to set up the auction, and creates a very clean, professional and easy to use site. For item input, donors have the ability to enter their items directly into your general auction database, which is fabulous! BetterWorld creates links to a form for this that you can send out to your potential donors. you can then move the information into the auction of your choice. You can also copy items from previous auctions to use in a current auction.
If I enter the item information directly into the auction instead of having the donor enter into the database, I am not able to get the type of donor report that I would like. BetterWorld is always working to add more features, so if a type of a report may be lacking today, they may add it in the future. I feel very confident that I will have all the types of reports I need in the future. It is a very ethical and philanthropic type company with a fabulous product!

In addition to auctions and raffles, they also offer ticketed events and donation campaigns. Overall, I've been extremely impressed with BetterWorld. It has helped our non-profit soup kitchen raise funds free of charge! The product is super easy to use, and they have a stellar support team.
I searched high and low for a affordable software package to conduct online auctions and raffles. BetterWorld is free! They make their money through contributions; transactional fees that are voluntary for the end-user. Their mantra is "Organizations should be able to raise funds for free and keep 100% of what they raise." This is true, as many of our donors cover the payment processor fee! I used BetterWorld as our primary fundraiser during Covid, when we quickly changed our fundraising model to online only. It was incredibly easy to set up, and I could easily track and download incoming donations. I think it's a great product, and a great price for non-profits. As an added bonus, their support is VERY responsive!
If your donor isn't aware, they'll be charged the fees to support BetterWorld. You have to uncheck the box before checkout. We had one user who placed several auction bids and was charged multiple fees even before winning. They complained to me and BW, and were quickly refunded their money. When I set up a donation campaign this year, the "contribution to BW" amount defaulted to $20 (for a $250 donation). I opted not to run the campaign because I thought the $20 fee was high and could be problematic. Ideally it would be nice to have a fundraiser that encompasses auction items ad raffle items instead of having separate setups for each. I handle this by creating a web page with all items on our site.

We chose to use Better World because of their business model. The live intro/training sessions confirmed for me the values held by the developers. For us, we wanted to donate as much as possible for the non profit we were fund raising for, and previous used auction site continued to raise their fees on us substantially without much support. The Better World developers are open to honest feedback to continuously improve their site for users.
Our social non profit dance krewe throws a large annual fundraiser with a silent auction. We used Better World for our 2022 event. Easy to set up, easy for volunteers to input data, great fee structure, very helpful support from the developers, and fairly successful for bidders to use. We had a few small "glitches" but managed to raise more than in 2020!
(3) Things that we would love to see added to the Silent Auction is a Key Word Search in the auction items, and a Live Highest Bidder Screen that can be projected at an event, and an APP for easier bidding. We started our auction online then at the event we had volunteers at the auction tables with a tablet to track highest bidders as sometimes after a few cocktails bidders are not working out their technology as quickly.

I only used BetterWorld for that one auction experience, but the experience was so positive, I would definitely use them again. The idea of helping fundraisers have the tools we need at an affordable price-point is really nice, especially for orgs as small as ours.
We didn't find anything we didn't like about the auction platform. It was so user-friendly that even I (not the most tech-savvy) could manage it with little assistance. And it looked great! It was great to be able to upload and arrange images, divide auction items by type, and receive clear info about bidding. When the auction ended, there was no chasing people down to get payment because all bidders had entered their card info and the charge was processed immediately.
We had a small issue that I assumed was my fault. I contacted BetterWorld and they determined it was something in their system they had not yet identified, and they actually thanked me for pointing it out so they could fix it. They were very responsive.

Very easy and effective for our online auction.
Donors were able to upload their own item information and then I could press a button to import it to the auction. Super easy for everyone!
Would be nice to have bigger pictures or have a higher limit for number of pictures allowed.

Wont use any other software in future fundraisers. We used Rally Around Us app as well with this one, at the completion, I decided next time we will only use BetterWorld

Customer service was exceptional. When accessing the online chat I was immediately put in touch with people who could solve the problem.
When our church was looking for an online platform to host an auction virtually, we were stumped at first by the complexities of sites sich as Shopify. BetterWorld made the process easy.

We love it! This year even though we held the auction in person, we still used the online auction. Better World even offered us the ability to print table cards with a QR link to bid for the item online. We will continue to use Better World for all of our future auctions and any fund raising, because it's so easy to use for admin hosting the auction, but also for the public.
Since the pandemic hit in 2020, we had to figure out another way to host our silent auction. After doing some research online, I found Better World.org. The software is very user friendly and it allowed us to continue to host our silent auction.
Nothing. I haven't found anything that I did not like.

I have been working with BetterWorld for two years and it has been great for the needs of our small, Catholic school's fundraising. The customer service is phenomenal! I usually received a reply within an hour (during the day) or the following day (if sent in the evening). The correspondences were always very helpful and pleasant!
The ease in building the online auction is great! The ability of copying the auction framework from one year to the next saves a lot of time after the first year.
I received a couple complaints about fees that the customer wasn't expecting when they were charged.

Overall, I liked the fact it was inexpensive and not difficult to set up.
The product was easy to use and very flexible. I would like to see more tutorials on how it can help non-profits raise funds at another level.
I didn't feel that I could call someone to get advice on the different formats and what would be the best for my fundraiser.

Nothing right now.
It gives you options about how you CAN afford a product to conduct an online auction.
It can be confusing for people as to how they can NOT pay for the suggested charge when they are exiting the system and want to pay for their auction item or ticket.

It's very user friendly for the most part and intuitive. I like being able to use one platform for fundraising, auctions and events. The support is top notch and they receive feedback well
Sometimes the $ part gets a little confusing. The breakdowns aren't as user friendly but since their support is so responsive and helpful they have literally held my hand through some difficulties I've experienced

It’s simple, but professional. It’s easy to use for participants, easy to setup for admin, and easy for money transfers.
It would be nice to be able to customize the appearance of the auction more than the banner.

Builds a nice looking site - open and clean design
Without an import option this will be a use once and look for a different solution next year. Adding an item is laborious and time consuming.
