Q. What is Groundplan used for?
Groundplan software is a construction estimation software that helps companies in document storage and project management. The tool is used by various trades including electrical, plumbing, fire, HVAC, roofing, and landscaping works. The application enables estimators to collaborate in real-time with other workers while working on estimation plans. The software can be accessed on any internet-enabled device using web browsers. Groundplan is used in electrical contracting to count LED downlights and measure cable runs to improve estimating processes. The application is also used in plumbing projects of hospitals, schools, office buildings, retail, and residential buildings to measure pipe fittings as well as provide a bill of quantities. Groundplan allows users to manage projects by entering important dates and deadlines in a calendar. The calendar automatically syncs with Outlook and Google calendars in real-time to provide a consolidated view of meetings, appointments, and timelines. Groundplan offers project and takeoff templates that let users keep formulas and assign symbols for easy estimation on a regular basis. The tool also allows construction estimators to revise an existing plan and upload a new plan without switching between the screens. All project documents and plans can be downloaded and shared with end-clients. Additional features offered by Groundplan include estimate worksheets, formula management, items counting, length measurement, and to-do lists. The application offers a full-feature free trial for seven days.
