What is Microsoft Entra ID?
Azure Active Directory, part of Microsoft Entra, is an identity and access management (IAM) software designed to help enterprises provide protection against cybersecurity attacks through single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication. It allows administrators to securely engage with internal and external stakeholders and provide on-site and remote access to various applications.
Features of Azure Active Directory include workflow automation, productivity tracking, behavioral analytics, endpoint management, a self-service portal, user activity monitoring, and more. The application allows businesses to protect account credentials by defining authentication and conditional access policies. Managers can also use the application to map the user journey and manage authentication via the social identity tool.
Azure Active Directory supports integration with several third-party platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, Workday, Box, Salesforce, SAP SuccessFactors, Blackboard Learn, and more through API. It also lets managers create, remove, and maintain user accounts and provide authentication to various cloud-based applications via OAuth system.
