Tricentis qTest overview

What is Tricentis qTest?

qTest is an agile dev testing platform for in-sprint test management. Designed specifically for DevOps teams, the cloud-based suite of tools helps users collaborate on open source testing, exploratory testing, and BDD (behavior-driven development), whilst providing real time visibility into test statuses and results. qTest integrates with Jira Software in order to streamline releases, issues, and defects, and allow users to access and analyze Cucumber test scenario results.

The qTest platform offers six modules; qTest Manager for case management, qTest Insights for real-time test metrics, qTest Launch for managing open source frameworks, qTest Explorer for recording test executions, qTest Scenario for scenario development, and qTest Pulse for managing Agile processes. The suite of tools allows teams to collaborate on and manage their development pipeline from end to end, identify bottlenecks, and track the performance of releases from one centralized platform. Tests can be automated and scaled to suit business needs, and qTest integrates with a range of Agile and DevOps tools, such as Jira, Cucumber, Bamboo, Jenkins, and more, to enable seamless collaboration.

Cons
“My problem is that I sometimes forget to click the Save button and I walk away and if the session times out - then all your work is lost.”

“I'm not sure if it is our implementation - but it seems to hiccup often, I randomly get errors or steps don't display.”

“Along with this, some of the qTest add-ons such as Insights are very difficult to work with and not intuitive as normal data analysis tools.”

Integration rating: 5.0 (5)

Because in a project when a particular business requirements is converted into an epic or story the QA needs to create the test cases in qTest and thereby has to map the story with the test case because then only the test case or suite becomes actually relevant. Therefore for story we have to integrate qTest with JIRA to link the test cases with that requirement or story. Also any pass fail or other status gets clearly reflected well in JIRA as well.
