How we picked the 6 top rated products

We chose the high-performing solutions on this list based on verified user ratings on our site. Depending on available data, qualifying products either had to be among the most user-reviewed or the most searched-for products in the Learning Management System software category. They also needed to have sufficient reviews about tests/assessments, have a minimum user rating of 3 out of 5 for that feature, and show evidence of U.S. market presence. We then added a distinction for up to three products based on our proprietary ratings and reviews: Highest rated, Highly rated for tests/assessments, and Highly rated for free version. Sponsorship or client status has no influence on the selection of these products, but it may impact the order in which products appear.

User insights about the tests/assessments feature

Users find Trainual's tests/assessments straightforward and easy to set up, especially for video-based content. They appreciate the ability to gauge employee understanding and retention, though some wish for more question types and interactive activities. Reviewers also note the importance of these assessments for monitoring progress and ensuring content retention.

“These are important because it helps gauge if the employee is retaining the knowledge. You are also able to see how many times the employee takes the tests and it can tell you a lot about a person. If they take the test 7 times in 10 minutes it means they are just trying to learn the correct answer without actually knowing the information. There are only multiple choice, which can double as true or false, or short essays. You are not able to add pictures or video to the tests. ”
CR

Chad R.

Director of Human Resources

“When it comes to assessments, I do wish Trainual had more question types, currently, you can only make a multiple choice question or a written response question. It would be great to have a matching, a good better best, or a question with multiple answers (not the same as multiple choice).”

“duolingo has test and assessments in form of games and quizes after each learning session which helps one understand his takeaways with regards to respective session and helps one understand the areas where one needs to focus more in order to grasp the language effeciently”

Regan D.

Accountant

“Generally, I like the tests and assessments available on the platform for a few reasons:Immediate feedback: As with regular Duolingo lessons, quizzes and assessments provide immediate feedback on users' responses. It helps me to identify my strengths and weaknesses, as well as areas that need more practice.Adaptive Learning: Duolingo uses an adaptive learning system that adjusts the difficulty level of the test or assessment based on my performance. This means that I am challenged but not overwhelmed and can progress at whatever pace suits me.Certification Preparation: Duolingo offers proficiency tests that can prepare users to obtain official language certifications, such as the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). I can practice and improve my language skills in an environment similar to official exams.Fun and challenging: I enjoy Duolingo's quizzes and assessments because they are challenging and fun. I can compete with friends or the Duolingo community to see who gets the highest score or the best performance. This adds an additional layer of motivation and makes the learning process more interesting.”
