Pros
As a manager, it is important that my team has the best tools to be competitive, to be successful, and to have fun with the job.
I love the start-up vibe they have and very helpful and competent team even if our timezones does not match.
Gem is super user friendly and intuitive. Because the product is so intuitive it was very easy to get onboarded and comfortable with it.
Cons
Some emails redirects to junk or spam folder due to different email domains in EU. Seldomly gets angry replies from candidates I message.
They are still early in their lifecycles so sometimes things can break. We've had times when it stopped working but their team is quick about addressing the issue.
It can be hard to get adoption of the tool because many recruiters comes from roles where they either didn't have great tools or the tools they had were ineffective.

Gem is the best tool for sourcing on the market

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

Gem has made sourcing so much simpler, our ability to track our pipeline very simple, and I can look through my statistics and make adjustments based on the data. It's very easy to use, I've been able to teach my peers and hiring managers how to use and implement within 30 minutes and have them up and running! It integrates with Greenhouse very easily. The ability to nurture email campaigns to candidates is the best I've ever found.

Cons

Occasionally the data can be incorrect, but that is one of the only cons about gem. I wish we could see the likely hood of a candidate to respond would be helpful moving forward. I also wish it would allow for an easier scheduling method for inmails and the ability to mark those in your response rates.

You need this, trust me.

A+++++++ [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is the best, he listened to a lot of my feedback early on and really valued my ideas. The engineers are awesome. Early on we had a few technical problems and they would always act quick and fix things fast even if that involved coming to our company office. Customer Service / Support is amazing. They always get back to me really fast and always have a solution that will fix my problem. I love their blogs, articles, open houses, recruiter meetups, and all the other events that they are always hosting. They offer so much it's just incredible.

Pros

I've been sourcing for 22 years and I always prayed / hoped / wished there was a tool that would make my life easier. Gem is that tool. It's fast - you can upload a candidate from Linkedin, throw it in a project folder, throw it in a prospect req in GH, find a personal email address, write a personalized email and have it go into an automated followup sequence that will follow up for the rest of time...

Cons

I've been begging [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to build an ATS but he won't do it. :(

Gem for recruiters

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

I really like that Gem makes it easy to track my outreach stats and pipeline.

Cons

I wish that you were able to send LinkedIn messages directly through gem rather than setting sequences for LI messages and having to go back and send manually. It feels clunky at this stage still.

Easy to use - great way to stand out to candidates!

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

I've been a Gem user for over 2 years now. Gem is super user friendly and intuitive. Because the product is so intuitive it was very easy to get onboarded and comfortable with it. What I love most about the product is how it automatically catches mistakes like double emails to the same candidate, missing links in emails etc. Gem takes care of all the details so I don't have to. My job as a recruiter...

Cons

Nothing really - I love this product! Gem's customer service is amazing so whenever we notice a bug or have issues with things not working well we've always been able to get everything fixed quickly.

GEM works!

Reviewed a year ago

My experience with GEM has been really good, once I was able to use the software for a while. It was a learning curve but the articles and questions to answers GEM provides are helpful. I do feel there could be even more clarification to questions. The answers seem limited.

Pros

I like that this software is user friendly, and it helps tremendously in outreaches to candidates. The data and analytics provided really give you a great look into trends and patterns which help the whole sourcing and recruiting process.

Cons

I do find in some areas, the process of sending outreaches could be more clear. Specifically sending emails, vs inmails, there are different steps after the process such as "TO DO's" that may be missed if you didn't know they were needed.

Vendor response

Hi there! Thank you for giving us a good review and providing feedback on our product. It's great to learn that Gem is helping you with candidate outreach and gaining data-driven insights, and we will take your feedback to continue optimizing our product.
