SignUp Genius does what it says it will, nothing more. Notification and alerts are subpar, too.
It is very easy to figure out, not too complex for older AND younger generations
The lack of complexity of software makes it not effective for important staffing purposes. This is great for volunteer or low-risk people management but not for staffing for events like we were using it for.

We use Sign Up Genius when we are hosting an event that requires additional help. Being able to have help signed up and ready to go is nice.
We use Sign-Up Genius when we need to have people sign up for an event. Sign up genius makes it simple to create an event and then organize the participants following the sign up period.
Signup Genius is somewhat expensive. It is a simple program, but is expensive to use. However, if you are able to have people sign up, any amount of money should be paid!

Overall, I am grateful for the ability to use SignUpGenius to organize contributions, coordinate schedules, remind participants of their agreements and responsibilities, and take most of the pain out of herding cats, or fulfilling the many roles outside of a classroom that a teacher has.
I first used SignUpGenius as a PTA president when my children were young. We discovered the site and implemented it for volunteer sign up at various events. At first, many were reluctant to try something new, but as they used it, they realized how convenient it truly is. Over the next few years, organizations rolled it out more and more, and now I regularly receive invitations to participate in projects...
I feel like at some point the software became very ad-heavy, and that makes it unusable for participants. It's necessary to keep providing the service at free or low cost, but it can be nervewracking wondering if the next announcement aligns with district policies. Other than disabling ads for educators, I'm not sure how that could be worked out and still be reasonable for the company.

This software has been very beneficial to our organization and has allowed us to increase the number of individuals we serve. Some long time employees were hesitant to use the software but once it was in place and they saw the value they were completely on board.
This event management product allows us to keep our two largest yearly give away events organized. The product enabled us to move our in person sign ups online and had thus increase productivity and efficiency. We no longer need to have multiple employees or rely on volunteers to be able to provide assistance to those in need. Additionally being online allows for those needy to help to sign up whenever it is convenient for them rather than coming in person at a certain time. The software is easy to use and able to be used on a variety of devices which is great since we serve individuals with different levels of experience when it comes to technology. Software has good reporting capabilities as well which allow you to use with Excel.
There really isn't anything I do not like about the software, our biggest issue has been with individuals entering incorrect email address. When they do that they do not receive our messages and reminders which can be frustrating for all.

I love SignupGenius. It is intuitive and easy to use. The platform is always updating and adding new themes to utilize. The price for a premium account is exceptional and the implementations are exactly what we need. The free version offers all the basic uses and the premium paid for account allows users to create sheets without ads. I highly recommend taking a look at this platform.
Operating a crisis text line it is imperative to find a way to schedule volunteers to operate the line during specific time frames. We looked high and low at several different scheduling platforms that would allow volunteers to sign up for the shifts that they are available for. Signup Genius had everything that we were looking for and with its intuitive and easy to use interface we were able to create a signup sheet for each month with the time slots needed to be filled. Another huge and unforeseen implementation was the fact that volunteers do not need to apply or register on the site to sign up.
Honestly I have yet to find anything that I dislike about the product. It does exactly what it says that it does. There are more positives for the product than there are negatives. Off the top of my head I cannot think of anything negative or things that I like least about the software. In the three plus years that we have been utilizing the platform it has performed amazing for us.

My overall experience is good, with the limitations mentioned before. It's free, so I'll continue to use it. In terms of signing up for events works great and the communication piece with people who signup for something as well.
I like that I can use it for free. It has a premium version, but you can still use the free version and its' good enough to use for volunteer management. This is specially helpful for grassroots nonprofits like the one I work for. The free version also includes some reporting tools and communication features.
I keep hearing about integrations with donor databases, but at least with Bloomerang, the one we use, it's very limited. I'd like to manage volunteers entirely with one software, but if you want to keep track of your volunteers hours and have their profile updated then you have to switch to another database management software.

Overall, SignUpGenius has many uses. My daughter's high school uses it to set up parent conferences. The ease of use for those signing up is a distinct benefit. It just requires some time and experimentation to be on the creation end. I will certainly use it again for times when I need to reach and organize a large number of people.
I was in charge of a fundraiser for my daughter's trip to sing at Carnegie Hall. This trip was quite expensive so many fundraisers were needed. I had been on the user end of SignUpGenius a number of times. This was my first time actually creating and managing one. I appreciated that we were able to organize and sign-up people for donations and work times at our booth during a local summer festival. It expedited contact with a large number of families. The event was a success!
I found that designing the sign-ups took a lot of patience and experimentation. I am fairly tech savvy. I have a Masters Degree in Educational Technology so I am always interested in learning how to use new software products. As a user, I find it very easy to navigate. As a creator, it didn't seem intuitive enough for me.

We use SignUpGenius to manage weekly volunteer spots for our nonprofit. It's super easy to duplicate our monthly signup page and modify it to fit that month's schedule. We're entirely satisfied with SignUpGenius. It meets our basic signup needs with its free tier and looks professional enough to not cause any hesitation. There are few services out there with the value that SignUpGenius brings.
It's very easy to set up and use. Once you get a recurring sign-up looking the way you want, it's easy to duplicate and modify to move forward. It's also easy for the volunteers to use, too. They simply navigate to the slot they want to sign up for and fill in some basic information. SignUpGenius just works. Easy to set up, easy to use, easy to manage. We have no reason to look elsewhere when the free version works so well.
The design of the signups does look rather outdated, like a basic HTML page from the mid 2000s. The free tier limits the amount of customization you can do, and it does include ads, but there are enough free themes to choose from to find something that'll work for you. The new version of the signup editor isn't as intuitive as the older version, but the support files will help you find what you need if you need help.

SignUpGenius is a phenomenal tool with countless uses. The free version is excellent in and of itself but the premium version offers great options and is very affordable too.
I have been using SignupGenius for years and it is an absolutely invaluable resource. We have used this tool for a variety of features with our staff - everything from schedule student employees for desk and duty shifts to having employees self-select a potluck dish for a staff holiday event. We also use it for student-facing events and services such as interviews and appointment based services.
It can take a little while to become familiar with the layout and format of the signup builder. The system gives you multiple ways to build your form, which can result in some inefficiencies or confusion until you really get to understand all the different features available to you.

Overall, I have had very positive experiences with SignUpGenius for a large audience of people, with multiple scenarios and needs, and differing levels of tech savvy. I think it is a bit clunky compared to some other tools, but overall, you can't beat the price or the service it provides -- particularly to non-profits who need it very much
I set this up with a non-profit client for all of their volunteer coordination needs quite a long time ago -- as much as 7 or 8 years ago. It served their purposes then and continues to now. I think it is better than any of its competitors that I have checked out.
Some of the processes are a bit cumbersome in SignUp Genius, particularly when you are sending it to people who are not very tech-savvy, but as it has been used repeatedly in a couple of organizations I advise, the users have gotten up to speed and it serves their purposes well

Our school system uses sign up genius to organize donations, party planning, and volunteers. I've used it many times to "sign up" for things for both of my children's classes and have had nothing but a good experience. A +++
The concept of this organizational tool is just way over do. I cannot imagine what a time saver it must be for so many different industries. It streamlines a whole process that is incredibly time consuming but necessary. I could also see the value in using this software as an individual for fundraising events or even just party planning. On the user side of this software I love that it is pretty much self serve. I can view all of the options available to me, as well as what others doing, and "sign up" without ever having to get in contact with any administrators. I also love that I am automatically sent a reminder. Just a side note, sign up genius works extremely well in conjunction with Class Dojo in the school setting. I think you get a ton of value for the money.
The only thing I can really see as a con in using this software is that it is impersonal, but that could also be viewed as good thing, as it is pretty much self serve you as the "host" no longer have to delegate or mediate who's doing what or who's bringing what!

I am so glad to get out of the old paper sign-up rut! SignUpGenius has made sign-ups so painless and made organizing events so much easier. It is amazing to not have multiple copies of a sign-up floating around and then have to combine the names later and verify that no one signed up twice on two different sheets, etc. It is truly great and setting up a sign-up couldn't be easier. The creator of the sign-up needs to set up an account, but those who sign up don't have to create an account!
There are obviously some features, like start and/or stop dates, that are not available if you use the basic free version. I also don't like that even on the paid versions, you still only get a limited number of sign-ups without ads; in fact, only the most expensive option has no ads.

Overall, SignUp Genius is awesome. It provides basic sign-up needs for big groups and small groups. We will continue using it and will recommend it to others.
One of the best features of SignUp Genius for churches and non-profits is it's price. Nothing beats it. It also is able to give you many slots to sign up with other people. It's perfect for getting big groups to sign up for certain slots.
It's not the smoothest software. It can be a little clunky and is not beautifully designed. With big groups, it's a little frustrating to scroll through many pages of signups to get to open slots. I wish there was a little more functionality with all of that. I wish there were more design options.

Found out it can be linked to Zoom Meeting - works wonders with the current climate.
Introduced to Signup Genius through my son's school - from there I incorporated it into all the events I need to schedule for personal events, sports, gatherings, volunteering for Boy Scout events and now use if for scheduling work functions where volunteers are needed. I have only used the basic plan and it has worked wonders but you cannot beat the monthly cost if more detailed scheduling is needed.
Really, I have no cons with the using Signup Genius, its a great online form to use for any activity where volunteers are needed.

We use this for volunteer sign-ups for events, both for people signing up to cover shifts and for people signing up to bring items.
I like that this system makes it easy to allow people to sign up for shifts at a volunteer event. I especially like that you can define how many people can do something so that you don't get too many in a particular time slot. The system allows you to modify unselected times, as well.
Depending on the template you use, it can look a little old-fashioned. Sometimes the graphics get squished. The free system is great to start, but if you want to add custom questions, you are limited to one per signup. The basic plan is reasonably priced, though.

Easy to collaborate with other volunteers to make managing service hours easier.
Ease of use, easy to share via social media, email, or other means. Reporting tools very powerful. Text and email reminders are fantastic tools
Ads & Customization only available in the premium level. Even at the lowest "pay" platform, the ads and you can only customize one view. Wish this was available in the lower level for the value, but the jump is too high for small organizations operating on shoestring budgets.

Overall, I love what Sign-Up Genius can do for us and the free price point is great! It's pretty simple to set up, follow up and implement. If the downed service due to server overload, or whatever the issue, was fixed this would be perfect!
Free account is useful with very few limitations. Good automatic and manual communication attributes for users to contact people who sign up. Pretty intuitive design and specialization. Paid account just ups the abilities.
Frequently the web servers are down, which can create some confusion with people who are trying to interact with your sign-up. It's very intermittent, but in the limited time we use the service, once a quarter, it happens a few times, each time. This is just annoying, not a deal breaker. Would like to see the structure be a little more reliable.

We are a non-profit, all volunteer, computer club with about 3700 members. We use Signup Genius to schedule the use of our media conversion equipment. Seven sign ups are currently being used. Signup Genius has answered our call. All our signups were done on paper until now.
Everything. The software does everything we need it for.
I would like the ability to have more add-free signups without upgrading to a more expensive plan that has several other features that I don't need at this time. I don't mind paying a little more to have this option.

Overall useful web app that provides a useful service.
It is fairly easy to use and low/no cost. It is good for scheduling events with individual times which is particularly helpful during Covid.
It is very user friendly, but I wish it had an app or way to more easily manage multiple events on the go.

In our current Covid business environment, both our staff and customers love our "SignUpGenius" appointments system. SignUpGenious has enabled us to predict and control the numbers of people in our shop, and gives the customer a welcome expectation they will be able to do socially-distant business immediately upon their arrival. No waiting in line in 100 degree plus heat. Sunglasses
Ease of Customer Use. Think there will always be 10% of customers who won't take the time to learn a new trick, but the vast majority say the software is easy to learn and use.
For a "Baby Boomer" who is not a "techie", the initial set-up was a bit of a trial. However, the "SignUpGenius" staff were helpful and very responsive to requests for assistance.

Overall, I was pleased with the way I was able to utilize the software. It is intuitive and easy to navigate.
As a user it is very easy to navigate and to select the date and time you want to set your appointment.
It looks outdated for an online application. As a user I am unsure if the product cost the poster money, but if so they need to update the user interface to look more modern. If it is a free product for the poster, then I understand why the interface is dated.

If you are using this a lot, you may feel the price to upgrade is worth it. As a teacher, I feel the prices are TOO high.
I use SignUpGenius for parents to sign up for parent-teacher conferences. I like that I can create the available slots, parents can sign up, and I receive an email when any additions or changes occur. I also like how I am emailed a reminder on who has signed up for the day.
It's not as user-friendly as it could be. I'm a tech-savvy person and get frustrated when I'm using it. The directions are not clear, which can lead to one completing a lot of tasks, just to discover it's incorrect.

I loved being able to customize the template, the requests and questions. It was very efficient in reporting and sending notices.
I LOVE this program for allowing groups to sign up for events and items that they'd like to bring or donate.
I thought it was a bit expensive at first, but then realized that it came with a lot of features I ended up using.
