Constant Contact pricing plans
See more pricing informationConstant Contact’s pricing is based on the number of contacts in your database and email sends and its fees are charged on a monthly basis. Users can also prepay for 12 months of usage on an annual basis, for a discount of 15%-30%. It does not have a free plan available to clients, although it does offer free trials for its three subscription packages to new users.
Its entry-level tier, Lite, provides a package for smaller startups starting from $12 per month. This gives a single user 1GB of online storage, customer support, and a set number of sends based on 10 times the number of contacts in their database. It also equips customers with the basic tools needed to send campaign emails, such as email templates, branding tools, and a polls and survey functionality.
The next level up, Standard, starts from $35 a month and expands on Lite’s features. It introduces elements such as the ability to schedule email sends, do subject line A/B testing, leverage social marketing options, and conduct reporting and analytics. It also increases the available storage to 10GB, allows up to three users and lets users do monthly sends of up to 12 times the number of contacts in their database.
Lastly, Constant Contact offers users a Premium tier, which starts from $80 per month. This gives companies an unlimited number of users, 25GB of storage space, and allows monthly sends of up to 24 times the number of database contacts. In addition to all the features of Lite and Standard, it also adds dedicated customer support, engagement heatmaps, advanced automation tools, better reporting features, and the ability to manage SMS marketing. [3]
To help explain how Constant Contact’s prices compare with other competitors on the market, we reviewed the planned budgets of over 400 marketing firms that spoke with a GetApp advisor in the last 12 months. We found that 37% were looking to budget under $120 per month on marketing software, which puts it within the affordable range of many of our reviewers. [4]
While Constant Contact appears to have options that can fit a small business’ budgeting plans, feedback on their pricing competitiveness is a little more mixed. Based on 538 verified GetApp reviewers, the system received a positive rating for pricing from just over half (54%) of those surveyed. This is for a few reasons:
- Among the positives noted, reviewers appreciate the value offered by the software platform and the features provided within basic subscriptions such as campaign tools and templates. They also praise the savings an annual subscription offers and the sufficiently long trial period of as long as 60 days without the need for a credit card.
- However, the negative aspects that appear in our reviews are issues with the pricing structure, which many users regard as a little high for small businesses and non-profits. This sentiment is exacerbated by unforeseen costs users can face due to the pricing being based on the number of contacts rather than users. As subscriber lists grow, this can lead to higher-than-expected bills. There are also negative comments on the lack of a free version for smaller users as well as concerns over feature limitations compared to competitors like with automations.
However, the company does offer some ways for users to save. One discount offered is a 15% saving on customers who prepay for 12 months, which rises to 30% for non-profits.
