It won't be an issue anymore having unified information of your software to better control your assets, no more duplicates or different names for the same software. You will also be able to monitor changes, seeing who did what and when to all of your CIs.
One of the main benefits of having such access to all of your assets is identifying their health status, deriving a better cost and asset allocation, and preventing possible problems.
