As a small nonprofit, the price is unbeatable. The system is robust and takes care of every aspect of gala management that we need.
I have been using Auctria since the days it was called Charity Auction Organizer. It handles every aspect of running a gala event that we need: ticket sales, seating, items to purchase (outside the auction items), donations, silent and live auction items, online catalog and bidding, and invoicing. Just a dream from start to finish. We purchase the Silver edition, and it more than pays for itself. I find Auctria.com to be far and above any other online auction/gala systems I've researched.
I wish Auctria.com were part of my existing donor database software features, but alas it is not. But there really isn't an affordable solution that acts as an all-in-one system.

Everyone ~ our board members, friends and family who bid on items and others who just checked us out ~ all were very impressed with the format and the ease of moving around the auction items and the readability of each of the pages. It was a very positive experience for all of us!
For me, as the Chairperson of the Uncorked! Fundraiser, I really appreciated the organization of all the categories. Everything about the software was thorough and comprehensive and included all the essential information on the bidders on the donation items. I loved the way the bidding was tracked and bidders were notified of their status. The Dashboard was so extremely useful for referencing important...
Perhaps you could make it more clear that after a bidder wins an item, they need to go back and complete the transaction. A few of our bidders thought that since they had already submitted their credit card information, that their credit card would automatically be debited. After a week or so of non-payment, I had to remind them to go back on the website and complete the transaction.

Re: bidder close-out can be batched by the admin post event if there is a credit card on file. This give the organization much more control over the finances. It had promise. Seemed like a good solution for people who would be able to pay with their own credit card and then check out using that same credit card.
IF everyone would have bought their own ticket with their own credit card and then if they had wanted to do self-checkout with that same credit card THEN this software would have been a dream. Nearly a third of our auction participants wanted something different. We didn't have enough computers to handle the anomolies. We didn't have enough training to know how to back out transactions or add a charge,...
Sorry that your experience was clearly not what we want groups to experience with Auctria. From reviewing the transactions it looks like the anti-fraud settings on your credit card processing account were too high and the charges were blocked downstream because of this. Unfortunately this isn't something we can directly control or make changes to ourselves. However, I'm happy to waive our credit card fees for the charges that were processed. For refunding a transaction there is a Refund link on the bidder activity tab which can be used to trigger a refund. We have been able to increase our revenues for the most part for our on-line auction. People find it very easy to use and with the software you are able to set up an attractive looking auction as well.
We use the software mostly for on-line auction and will continue to use it because our supporters love it. Fast, easy, great optics and the support is there if we need it. The banking and reporting is excellent.
We find that the user manual is not always up to date or easy to use. So much material and the problem is if you are not using the software every day (for us its only two times a year) you forget and need to again go through the not so friendly user guide. We decided to pay extra for hands on Auctria help which for a NFP Charity is not ideal, but necessary.
Thanks for sharing that the supporters "love it". Many times we are asked, will our audience know what to do? and this is a clear to answer that question. We were able to put our whole event website and catalog together in less than a week, and when we ran into any issues, the incredible help team went above and beyond, at one point working late into the night with us to get everything ready in time. Once we saw how good our auction looked, we upped our goal by $5K, and then went live. Auctria is more than a great value, it's a fantastic tool for any virtual fundraiser!!
The most fun feature was that everyone could see bids happen in real time! We hit our goal, and many of our supporters let us know that they had tons of fun seeing bids roll in, so I consider seeing the bids in real time to be an important motivator for hitting our goal. The most useful feature was the mass upload function for photos and descriptions. We had 500 items, and could never have launched on time without this feature!
The backend portal to build the website was a bit limited — for example, I would have liked to be able to change the colors on the Donate buttons to match the rest of our custom colors. However, it was still better than what I saw with other products, and once we got the hang of it, it was easy to use.
