We were looking for a church membership database software that was cloud based and mobile friendly so that all our pastoral staff could access it anytime, on the go, from anywhere, on any device, without installing any software. We also needed it to support Chinese characters, and Elvanto was one of the few that worked for us. After signing up for a trial, we found the system super easy to use and...
so easy to use that even our most tech averse pastoral staff are able to use it
Difficult to track extended relationships (aunts / uncles / cousins / etc.) beyond the standard family unit

I really enjoy this App. It is web based so able to be accessed anywhere by anyone you chose. Pricing is reasonable and there are so many functions that it s a challenge to use them all efficiently! There is a bit of time involved in the initial set up but well worth it. It is also very user friendly and intuitive. The support guys are constantly improving and updating features and open to suggestions....
The various functionality options and that it is web based so your people can access it from any computer anywhere and reasonably priced.

I like Elvanto and have become accustomed to it's size and quirks.
Elvanto is a product that is great at a lot of things, but really isn't the master of anything. It's a massive suite that does a whole lot and it works for the most part, but it has some quirks. The potential is there to being amazing.
It seems as though, since being purchased by Tithe.ly that the suite is being put on the back burner in terms of development.

1. Elvanto has a very intuitive admin interface (similar to Wordpress). It's very easy to navigate and full of features. 2. Elvanto features many integrations with other services, such as Songselect, Proclaim, Mailchimp and Tithely, all of which we use at our church. 3. Elvanto gives you the ability to add endless custom fields for each person. These become useful for generating just about any kind...
The mobile app could use some more of the admin functionality. Also, without 'conditional logic' (like Gravity Forms or Ninja forms) the Elvanto registration forms can be limiting for certain types of events.

We've been using elvanto for the past 4 years, and found that overall it is a really well rounded and useful church database. Whilst its a fairly steep learning curve to setup (i.e. access permissions, departments, groups, locations, service types!), once its going it takes care of may of the people admin tasks that churches have. Tech Support are very fast to respond and always happy to help. Our...

We switched to elvanto about 3 yrs ago, until then we had used several other programs which we ended up just using very basic functions of storing details of congregation members. Over the past few years we have grown from a 200+ church to 400 + members. I have to say that elvanto has grown with us. The ease of use and functionality has been great as a smaller church and also now as we grow. With...

We use Elvanto for database, attendance, assigning contacts, running reports, email, and texting our people. However, the best part about Elvanto is the People Flow concept. Keeping track of people at multiple stages of development with centralized notes has been amazing for us.
The fact that contact info, group and service attendance, notes, and activity log on each person is available with a few clicks. Running reports, Communicating with people through email and text is great. You can even do an advanced search and get really granular, and then just contact those people with one click. Simple and easy to use. The best part about Elvanto is the People Flow concept. Keeping track of people at multiple stages of development with centralized notes has been amazing for us.
The user interface for services and volunteering is a bit off par.
Thanks so much for the feedback Drew! I'd love to hear what we can do to improve our services and volunteering interface. If you had time, could you email in your thoughts to support [at] elvanto [dot] com?

I love how Elvanto keeps all the things we need in one place. It's easy to use. It's easy to train people on. And you get all the features for one price! Not only does it look beautiful, it actually functions how you want it to. It's easy to set up and run out of the box. Then the more you use it, the more you realize how powerful it is. In church world, you always feel understaffed understaffed. Think of Elvanto like hiring three or four different people to keep track of all the stuff you wish you could keep up with. The customer service is that good. You feel like they're just a part of your team. That's all the things I can think to say. Seriously can not recommend this enough.
It has all the different systems and one system, but it doesn't feel too big or overwhelming.
The only con is that it's still new so sometimes there are minor bugs or glitches. But they are always really fast to fix them.

Elvanto doesn't have every feature I want, but it has more than most, and everything it does, it does well. From the parish directory to rostering to service planning, it has a solid Web 2.0 interface that minimizes the need for training. It integrates with key products like SongSelect and bulk SMS providers, and its API allows handy customizations. What won me over was the ability to just upload an existing contacts database to test it out. No other product at the time was that open and flexible - Elvanto was a no-brainer for future-proofing our church systems.
Web 2.0 interface. Billed for the number of members, not for community contacts. Handy integrations with other products. Core features of church life are handled well.
Confusing variety of ways to attach files to songs and services. API is missing some key features for service planning.

Customer service was always quick and helpful.
The software underwent a recent upgrade, which seemed to bring a less eye-catching interface. Also, church staff had a difficult time learning the software and after about a year and a half, we gave up and moved on.

We chose Elvanto as our Church Management System after looking through dozens of systems and demoing several of them. We are a small church of under 100, so we were looking for something cost effective without sacrificing features. Elvanto had all the features we were looking for and was just within our budget. The key features that made Elvanto stand out and were our deciding factors were service...
Feature-set, price, customer service
Some features could be improved to be made useful (like calendar/event reporting, printing, and emailing)

I reviewed quite a number of church management tools, and Elvanto was by and far the best tool that we came across. Since we've implemented Elvanto, rostering our volunteers, managing our events and services has been so much easier! Our church volunteers love using Elvanto too. Now they can't imagine doing ministry without it!
Extremely flexible and very well thought out. From small groups, to rostering, even integration with CCLI. Elvanto covers all areas within a church.
Not many cons, but if I need to add something here then in the reporting section, we require the information in some specific ways. We weren't able to get it to produce the reports that we would like, so we've had to use some work arounds.

We were able to pastor our people better by knowing who they were and what they needed. the notes option is extensive and very helpful. It is a great benefit to our organization.
Customization! We can make just about anything look the way we want it to. We can add different things to profiles, link them with Social Media, and if we had issues customer service was always on top of getting us what we needed in a very timely manner.
It is difficult at times to find what you're looking for based on the titles within heading/main page names (specifically groups and who falls into that or departments).

A great system overall, but they just don't have what our smaller church (250 people) could really use to its fullest. I know there's no perfect system, but this one just required too much from you to make function properly.
There are a lot of features that Elvanto offers. It is a very robust system with Child Check-In, pastoral care, keep track of people in your church, and so much more. They are capable of handling churches of any size, and the cost is very good!
Very steep learning curve. There are so many things that aren't very intuitive with the system and requires someone who does nothing but work with it to stay on top of it.

Elvanto has solved a ton of IT problems we had within our organization. It has centralized many areas that needed to be centralized. We still have many opportunities to maximize the resources and features Elvanto offers. It's grown with us from being a small church plant to now a medium sized church. It's awesome to know that it is ahead of us from an innovation perspective rather than behind us.
Ease of use and ability to scale.
The time it took to have a solid mobile platform.

After trying other softwares like Fellowship One and others that were super complicated we tried Elvanto and we are amazed at the way Elvanto has helped us manage our church. This software is super complete and easy, the best of it is that is very customizable.
Elvanto is one of the best Church Software there is. Our whole team love what Elvanto does and how we can keep track of our members growth and progress on our church process and vision.
I wish their app interface was more complete and had more functionalities,

When we first started using Elvanto, we were generously given 1year to test the software as a new church. This helped us to evaluate our options and harness the opportunity Elvanto provided. Since we started using Elvanto we have not considered a different product given that the platform meets our needs. Nevertheless it would more valuable to see a few more features included as part of the package, like SMS inclusion, chat/Call app integration, project management app integration and a fully functional mobile interface. With such inclusions Elvanto is sure to set a standard other similar software look up to. Besides, I believe Elvanto is a brilliant software and the team are doing an amazing job.
Designed with the church at heart
No sms inclusions, cost is less competitive

Great software that really enhances our ministry with church membership, service preparation and church communication. Behind the software is a great team who respond very timely to questions, and suggestions. I've used one of the other big church management systems and much prefer Elvanto! Thanks Elvanto.

So easy to use and doesn't take long hours of training. Check it out... I've used 3+ different ones and would always push to have Elvanto!
Ease of use.
Not robust enough for some places.
Thanks John! What areas do you think are not robust enough? We're wanting to continue to improve any way we can :)

As the title says we loved the mobile app functionality and it was priced really well for what we wanted and the fact there is no charges for add ons. This definitely made it into our top five when we looked at a lot of software.
The service programming can be a little haphazard and the mobile app while it is cool we are looking forward to some improvements there. We will be able to pastor our people better by knowing who they are

After months of extensive research on ChMS solutions, I frankly couldn't find any one that I could wholeheartedly adopt and endorse. The current options were one or more of the following: 1) not easy to learn and use; 2) have an outdated and/or klunky interface; 3) more social network than ChMS; 4) are easy to learn but lack key features/functions; 5) are feature-rich but are too expensive. However,...

It's useful for running a church
Ability to schedule volunteers, plan services, keep a database of visitors. Track giving and track the flow of newcomers.
It's expensive, third party applications don't work as advertised. It's not easy to use and at times foolish. You can't schedule someone for more than one thing at a time. But in reality you can lead the service and welcome new comers

My experience was absolutely good and i really like that you can use the software in many ways.
I really like the differents ways to manage with this software, it let you organize as the way you want and it's really useful, I think this software it's really good.
I don't like that it's a little bit difficult to understand, in some cases you don't know what you need to do to use in a right way the functions or the tools that the software provides you
