Whether you're a gathering of 6 or 60,000 people, ProPresenter scales very well!

Reviewed 2 months ago

From the time we decided to take the plunge to having used it for years now, working on ProPresenter has been such a great delight. Given that most services depend on volunteers, it was becoming increasingly difficult to have the manpower required to run these different systems. Using ProPresenter to integrate into our current production rig, saves us both time and resources.

Pros

The biggest advantage of using ProPresenter for us was the ability to have multiple outputs to multiple displays. Having the ability to add and subtract layers on the fly is another great advantage of using this great software. The ability to integrate it with our present music production software (Ableton Live) is what made it possible to automate our audio and lighting scenes. This is far ahead of what the competition offers at the moment.

Cons

The barrier to entry is probably the price and yearly subscription. While it may not be a lot, the possibility of a very small congregation or international audiences not being able to afford it, is a likelihood.

The Next Level of Presentation

Reviewed 2 months ago

My overall experience has been nothing but positive. For the price point you get an amazing product that will meet most if not all of your presentation needs. The video tutorials are excellent and I have been able to get support via chat and talking to a live person as well, which is fantastic it today's world. I am still discovering new capabilities and how to implement them and the constant improvements and updates are well received.

Pros

ProPresenter 7 enables our relatively small church to present professional looking graphics to our online and in house worshipers. Even though the initial learning curve is relatively steep, there are plenty of tutorials and videos available to make the learning detailed and easy. Once I learned the basics, I was astounded at the simplicity and complexity of the program. You can do basic presentation...

Cons

For whatever reason the program takes a while to load on a computer. More so than most other software programs. Even though there is an app available that can serve as a remote to control the program from a phone or tablet, as apposed to a computer, the design is poor and the functionality is limited. Propresenter recently released a plug in for stream deck, which is also available as an app, which will probably make up for the lack of a good remote. As far as I am aware of, there is no physical remote that will work well with ProPresenter.

Good, but not as good as it could be.

Reviewed 3 years ago

We use ProPresenter 6 weekly to sequence our worship lyrics and other service visuals except for the weekly teaching portions. Our teachers prefer Proclaim due to its integration with Logos bible software. We also use Proclaim to record our teachings - audio with synced visuals - for uploading to our website. For general worship visuals I prefer ProPresenter 6 by far. While our two graphic-op volunteers are fairly new to worship graphics software, I have been creating presentations using computer graphics software professionally since 1983.

Pros

ProPresenter 6 is good at sequencing images, allowing videos to be used as backgrounds, and the database of user created material works well. The weekly task of creating the worship flow for our services is easy and works relatively well. I like that you can click on graphics and text images to make visuals on the fly. We have used ProPresenter with PowerPoint, Keynote and Proclaim software concurrently and switch between them with almost no difficulties.

Cons

In our particular setup - iMac with a Kramer VGA video splitter, in 4:3 - 1024x768 res. - ProPresenter 6 does not correctly initialize the screen buffers causing us to quit and restart the program almost every time we use it. We don't have this problem with PowerPoint, Keynote or Proclaim. Also, for the price, the image (slide) editing functions are clunky - usable, but not good. Apple's Keynote software (free with every Mac) is a great model for easily creating high quality visuals.

Great, But Pricy

Reviewed 2 months ago

Proprsenter is great, but the cost is a bit concerning for me. When it is properly set up and functioning well, you will be pleased by its performance. So be sure to compare its features and nuances before you fully commit to purchasing it.

Pros

ProPresenter is the industry standard for churches when it comes to church presentation software solutions. There are many features to learn and make use of. There are also many Bible translations to select from as well. And lastly, there are solutions for online and live presentations as well.

Cons

Though Propresenter is the industry standard, I can be cost prohibitive for smaller churches. In addition, there is a learning curve to learning this software, especially as it pertains to conducting live broadcasts. Therefore it is critical that you (1) know what you want from this software, (2) have the necessary funds for the additional equipment that may be needed and (3) have capable individuals operating the software.

Great Presentation Software for Churches

Reviewed 5 months ago

We are using this for 3 church services a week as our presentation software. I would recommend it to anyone. It delivers our lyrics, graphics, and Scriptures in a professional way at a great value.

Pros

Pro Presenter is easy to use. I can teach a volunteer to use the basic features within a few minutes of sitting down at the computer. The integration with CCLI to import songs is a feature that is a huge time saver. Formatting is a breeze with the toolbar. Editing spelling errors on the fly is quick and easy. Overall it is a great value for the purchase price. My team loves it, and we will continue to us it for many years to come. It is simple to make professional presentations quickly.

Cons

The only area I would like to see improved is the mobile app. It is very nice to have, but is a little slow to load things on the fly.

Presents your services with ease

Reviewed 9 months ago

Without the great video tutorials, it would be a challenge to get started with this software, but that's why there are tutorials! Once you have the basics of this software, you are ready to go. There is a little training to understand how things work for anyone running the system. We transitioned from a different presentation software to this one and hands down are so happy with our choice to move to ProPresenter! The pricing is reasonable for even the smallest of facilities, the creation of libraries will save you time as you build them out and it is super easy to insert these pieces into your service "playlist".

Pros

The layout and design to build a service is laid out nicely. The BEST part of this product is the building of libraries and how easy it is to build a service or presentation from your libraries, even quick additions while live!

Cons

A few times while creating a playlist, we will find something added was not there when we started up the playlist later. We have still not solved this mystery but just have a note to always double-check for all presentations to be in the playlist!

THE BEST Presentation Software on the market!!

Reviewed 3 years ago

Currently we use Pro Presenter as a House of Worship solution, and as a traveling presentation software; it flawlessly integrates with our mac mini and and 5 monitor system. The thing i love most about ProPresenter is that it is simple enough for a kid to use, and at the same time has complex feature for Pro users to indulge in like; iPad controls, Hi Definition video and audio options, social media integration and up-gradable external modules.

Pros

The ease of use. ProPresenter generally just works. It is so hassle free and is so simple that i was able to teach it to seniors and children! When i allow end users to run our system i feel confident that they will be able to create, and run a flawless presentation!

Cons

The only small gripe i have is that ProPresenter Pro License doesn't come with alot of free or embeded stock videos or images. The base price point is fair, i just wish there were more stock photos, video and sounds for the Pro license.

PC vrs. Mac

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, the program works. However, as I have found with my volunteers, I cannot trust them to do much within the program beyond the basics. I think they are capable, but the interface is not intuitive enough to trust them with it on their own.

Pros

I like that it is relatively dependable. I like that most of my volunteers can just click the next slide to actually run the program. I also like that it talks to other programs well enough, though I don't like having to pay for extra features like midi integration etc. I believe we paid enough for the program up front.

Cons

I have used mac pretty much my whole life. There are things that I love about it, and things that I just live with, as is the case with any operating system. However, the general consensus in the millennial worship community is that mac is the end-all for churches. And rightly so. With programs like Logic, Mainstage, Garageband, Imovie, Final Cut, etc. all under the $500 price range, it is easy...

A great product that does what it does very well. Version six is feeling like it’s been out for a while though! Not that I’m hankering for any major revisions except to the handling of audio files.

Pros

ProPresenter a very robust product that is particularly suited to the church environment although I have used it for other types of events as well. It has maintained its focus on the most essential tasks for media presentation a provided a good balance between complexity/flexibility and ease of use - especially when many operators are volunteers using the product infrequently. Cons

1. I would like to see support for third party video devices from more companies such as AJA. 2. Some of the slide building features are too basic. No gradients, no ability to lock the position of text boxes while still being able to edit them. Templates limited to formatting only one text box. 3. I find the separate audio window to be clunky. Perfect for our scenario

Reviewed 3 years ago

Pro Presenter has made our church services run so much smoother and allowed us to do things that would have cost exponentially more to do any other way. We adopted it long before I came 6 years ago and it is so vital to our workflow that I can't imagine working without it. I started learning simple things then dove in deeper as I got more comfortable. The video tutorials on their website are excellent and made it so easy to learn. Bang for your buck, you'll never find a better product

Pros

Pro Presenter is far and away the best multi-media presenter that I've ever used, and I've used a lot both hardware and software. Once you understand the logic behind it, it's very easy to setup and use. We've added several modules to it to customize it even more to our needs. It plays almost any media file, picture, audio or video and seamlessly integrates them. We use a lot of automation and it works spectacularly for us.

Cons

You have to get really nit picky to find real flaws with the software. There are a few features I'd love to see added and few foibly things to work around, but once you understand them, it works incredibly well.

Best combination of value and features

Reviewed 3 years ago

Propresenter was a definite upgrade over our previous system EasyWorship. The great majority of the time it is a pleasure to use. It has the occasional quirk where media links break and media has to be reimported (even for media that was not moved from it's original location). Another issue I face frequently is Propresenter forgetting previous stage display settings and having to go back into the preferences and re-enable stage display again.

Pros

Getting your media into Propresenter and starting presentations couldn't be easier. Works great as a way to present lyrics for songs and compile a database of song lyrics. There are also advanced features available for power users that help extend the functionality of the system.

Cons

I don't really like the process of creating cues to advance slides on presentations. There could be an easier way to incorporate videos into presentations that run on their own. Also the integration between Propresenter and the cloud service doesn't work great. I could never get it to sync correctly so I cancelled my subscription and went about what I wanted to do a different way. Also documentation on advanced features could be better. Most of the time when I want to do something involving one of the advanced modules or something involving synchronization between my lighting system it involves digging through the internet for a user who figured it out and was nice enough to share their process.

Wonderfully powerful software for every church/ministry

Reviewed 4 years ago

Less headaches and ease of use. Coming in on a Sunday morning and having the software works perfectly as planned. There really isn't much to dislike. The price is competitive and a great value. The software is superb and any problems are quickly address in new updates. The abilities are almost endless

Pros

The ease of use is probably my favorite thing. If you need a basic display system for your church this will get you going right away without a hitch. If you need more advanced, multi network, multi screens, adding confidence moniters or stage displays, using iPads and IP networks with a control room. Ya know the mega church display setup.... this is still the preferred program to use. The training...

Cons

If I have to say one negative is this software works best with Mac's. Through the years the software has had issues with PC's running ProPresenter. Although I have heard that the latest ProP 6 has corrected most conflicts in Windows software, so this con may be mute by now, I don't know I stick to Mac for our media computers.

Exceptional value for the feature set

Reviewed 3 years ago

We have been using ProPresenter for over a decade and now have it as the main visual presentation software in eight rooms, ranging from 100 to 2100 seats. Our newest implementation involves a multi-screen output of simultaneous separate content to a on-stage TV and IMAG overlay via NDI with Alpha and to a confidence monitor at the rear of the room. And ProPresenter can do it! On a Mac mini, no less! We love it so much that when presenters come with PowerPoint presentations, its common practice for us to import them into ProPresenter to make them easier to work with.

Pros

- A feature set that is perfect for churches and constantly evolving with the times. - Unlimited site license and free download gives unparalleled value. - A friendly and intuitive interface for the basics with intricate and power-packed features under the hood. - Versatile enough to be the perfect choice for everything from conferences to funerals and church services to concerts, and also perfect for single screen, multiscreen or feeding into an IMAG system as an alpha overlay. Makes it easy to train staff and volunteers on one product across a wide variety of contexts.

Cons

- In depth features can become confusing and hard to find information on, especially when combining add-on modules for specific functionality.

Don't know how I lived without it up until now!

Reviewed 2 years ago

Up to this point, updates have been few and far between. One suggestion I made to Renewed Vision (the makers of ProPresenter) was integrated into a feature of an eventual update. Tech support has gotten way better as the years have gone by. They are quite helpful and patient.

Pros

Volunteers can operate it with a minimal amount of training. The setup is largely intuitive. There are also hundreds of hours of videos, tutorials, etc. to get you not only up and running, but using advanced functions as well.

Cons

Initial cost can be a challenge. And for a person using one output (main), it is overkill. There are other less costly products (Proclaim, for example) that do similar things for those in need of one output and no other whistles and bells.

Perfect for regular and special occasion use

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, I have been very pleased with the capabilities of ProPresenter in the worship context. It has full functionality for low-level techies like me but has many features open to the more tech savvy like my tech lead.

Pros

Once it’s installed, everyday use is a breeze. Preparing playlists, inserting backgrounds, etc. is as easy as drag and drop. Lots of features can be incorporated or you cN keep it simple. The preview screen is great. Importing and reflowing content is simple. Especially compared to other similar apps, PP6 is very stable, especially on a Mac, but it works well on a PC as well. Their tutorials are great, too.

Cons

The formatting is rather limited, especially when importing from PowerPoint. It’s better to build the presentation in ProPresenter in many cases. Fonts don’t always translate, and sometimes the displays are a bit challenging to troubleshoot.

The Gold Standard

Reviewed 3 years ago

ProPresenter has been a solid and dependable product that we've relied upon for many years now. The developers at Renewed Vision have kept the product up-to-date with regular patches, allowing the most up-to-date MacOS releases to be used soon after general availability. Overall, this is well-supported and reliable product.

Pros

ProPresenter manages to combine volunteer-friendly ease of use with depth of functionality to meet the needs of the most sophisticated church production environments. It has solid integration with the on-line services we use (Planning Center, CCLI SongSelect primarily), so weekly service preparation is made very efficient. Most importantly, we've experienced crash-free stability and high reliability in live services. The ability to purchase and install additional media such as new backgrounds and movie clips within ProPresenter has been helpful too.

Cons

The price of entry could be seen as a little steep for small church (Renewed Vision should consider a subscription scheme to attract new users to the platform). It would be nice if there were an elegant way to switch between using ProPresenter for worship lyrics and KeyNote for sermon slides and back again.

MANY great features, with a few needs for improvement.

Reviewed 3 years ago

ProPresenter overall is a wonderful, sleek way to show lyrics, announcements, videos, and sermon notes for our church. I have not encountered any better program for this purpose. It is affordable considering how much it can do. Yet, it is simple enough for those who need to do simple things to use easily, and complex enough that those who wish to do more complicated things also can.

Pros

ProPresenter offers a lot of different ways to make the presentations look and do exactly what you want them. Options like Stage Display, different transitions, and templates are all wonderful tools with lots of options. ProPresenter is a wonderful way to unify lyrics, videos, and audio all in one program on one computer.

Cons

While the Bibles feature is very helpful in many ways (and I'm grateful for it!), it is frustrating that if we create a presentation with a scripture, but then want to change which template we are using or change the size of the font, it then removes the superscripting of the verse numbers. This is very frustrating, and seems like it is something that should have been fixed by a program as complex and huge as ProPresenter long ago.

Great program!

Pro-presenter is how we function on Sunday morning during our worship service. We have utilized many other types of display graphics and they don't compare to Pro-presenter. The other don't cost as much as Pro-presenter but in this case you get what you pay for and pro-presenter although pricey is definitely worth it.

Pros

Pro-presenter works really well and is an excellent way to display graphics as well as many other attributes. We utilize it mainly for displaying graphics, lyrics and videos. Our team has just started to utilize some of the more complex functions but still not to the level of some users as we don't use props and we don't necessary build slides within pro-presenter either. For our limited use it works really well.

Cons

We utilize pro-presenter with screen share which makes it difficult to utilize the web browser as it it doesn't function correctly. When trying to show a webpage it cuts out the 120 pixels of edge blending making it impossible to use. We also utilize the hot folder function in conjunction with a google drive folder so we can drop and and remove items easily from many different people that are not on site. Unfortunately, Pro-presenter has a glitch where you cannot move a file within the google drive folder without renaming it. It doesn't recognize the same file and make you rename it to utilize it. Those are the two issues/concerns we have experienced.

It's the industry standard for a reason

Reviewed 3 years ago

For 95% of my experience with ProPresenter, it is well worth the money and investment into the product.

Pros

For the church world, there really isn't much competition for ProPresenter. The features and modules that ProPresenter offers are far above most other products. Plus, most people in the church world use this software, so it's easy to trouble shoot and bounce ideas around with other people in the worship/production scene. ProPresenter can offer you so much at such a reasonable price, it's hard to find a true "con" to this software.

Cons

The only issue I've run into was exporting certain media bundles from ProPresenter, and then subsequently losing some media assets in the export. I contacted customer service about the issue, and to be honest, they haven't been super helpful. I think the only downfall of ProPresenter is that it has become so large and accepted by an overwhelming majority of churches that Renewed Vision has a hard time keeping up with bug fixes/updates. But again, I don't think there's a lot of good alternatives out there.

Gold Standard For A Reason

We're sold on ProPresenter and use it consistently in all of our larger venues. It's been great, and Renewed Vision continues their development to make it even better!

Pros

While there can be a fair amount of setup involved depending on your needs, once set up it fits into the definition of "it just works" (particularly on Mac). It has all the functionality you could need or want for worship services and events, and consistently does what it's suppose to do - and looks good doing it! We use NDI to send text over to ProVideoPlayer and the relationship between those two is just flawless. We also really like the automation (communication module) functions using MIDI and DMX.

Cons

I found the cost of the alpha keyer module to be excessive for a software feature option (although I paid it because it did what we needed done), and it would be helpful if the Planning Center integration could be a bit more smooth - possibly provide options to utilize PCOs lyrics function to make it easier to match sequences, and sync PCO Media items into a playlist without it trying to re-download everything every time. Those are definitely wants, not needs, and it's hard to say how much of the limitation is ProPresenter and how much is what the PCO API will support.

We are able to quickly set in points and out points on videos, make videos loop, display Sunday messages and announcements, layer text over video, do countdowns on top of our announcements and set every thing on timers to ensure service always begins on time. If you know what you are doing to set it up, it can basically run itself. I've been running ProPresenter for over 10 years. Cons
