If you want to build an app and you don't know how to code, then Subsplash has a really great solution for you. They have lots of great features that you can build into an app.

The development and launching went flawlessly for us and while we're pretty competent with tech, I really attribute it to their intuitive and simple software and interface.

The website, while simple, is still very powerful and gives your church a great online presence.

We were given false information up front and it has been difficult getting our contract cancelled and we are still trying to get a refund of the money we put down.

I also like that there are options for the programs like the App side. Plus the cost of transactions were lower than others.

Overall, the software has been fairly easy to use and the integration between various functions has become even better.

I don't know that all churches can afford such a costly system.

It is easy to stream and categorize media, and the push notification feature is easy to use.

In fact, it doesn't even have all the contributions made up to 2+ weeks prior. So, again, there is a lag issue.

Both the App Design and Web Design were intuitive and very well integrated. We are tech savvy but the ease were were able to create large amounts of content was almost rewarding.

The look of Subsplash is okay but there’s no way to improve it or set it apart from any other apps. The list goes on but over all the worst of it was the customer support.

My overall experience with Subsplash was mediocre. There is much that frustrated me as features would crash or I could not customize to my satisfaction. The customer service is incredibly difficult to reach, which has also caused major issues. 

The host media very well, and provide great features for categorizing what we store on their platform.

I pray that I can find a company that can actually provide premium support for that premium-paid member category.

Often times I was already faced with a daunting task like... upload previous podcasts to a podcast tab on the app. We had dozens and dozens of them to upload. Then we had graphics to go along with those podcasts as well as descriptions. It was a lot of work to begin with. Getting the run-around with navigating through the app was the last thing we needed. 
One major issue I noticed was when submitting or saving your work, the interface wouldn't just naturally take you to the next step...I would have to often circle back to the home page, click on a particular button then another then another to get to the next step. We're having to wait for 3 or 4 pages to load to get to a page that should have been the next natural step for what we  were doing. Making the job take that much longer.
Overall, after many many months of working with Subsplash I figured out how some things work and even though it was always longer than it needed to be, it was the best I had so I just made it work. I still have no other persons familiar enough with the app's dashboard to do what I do. I feel stuck doing it. If it was simple, I know I would have many other teams that could step up to manage this. But the difficulty level just made it too daunting. It was ok to get started...but we're currently getting rid of Subsplash and moving to another app platform. I'm hoping it'll be a much easier app to manage.

Just an excellent experience overall. They genuinely care about you as a client and help you address any issues you might have. The platform is easy to work with and quite flexible for our needs. I was introduced to Subsplash through the church I am working with to design their website and app. They had been trying for months to do it on their own with Subsplash but said they were having a hard time getting anything going. I learned the platform and setup the app to be submitted to Google and Apple according to Subsplash's checklist and once I submitted the app I had to follow up with Subsplash 2 weeks later to see if anything else needs to be done (Subsplash states it would only take up to 10 days to get a response if anything needed to be changed). 

They told me changes were needed so I fixed the issues and resubmitted. 2 more weeks went by and I called in to express my frustrations about how I have to follow up to find out if anything is going on and when I emailed was told by one agent that nothing needed to be done since they submitted it to Apple, then was told by another agent that same day that changes were needed and they hadn't submitted it to Apple yet. I was understandably over it all so after consulting with the church we decided that for the money we were paying monthly to have Subsplash's help we would end our contract with them.

I have had many phone calls with agents and there has still been no resolution. Rep said she would follow up with me the day after our last phone call and that was 2 weeks ago. There is a lot more that has occurred with this company but due to the word limit I cannot detail it all. Horrible experience.

Being a company that is Christ centered is a huge plus. We are all working towards the same goal. I looked at many other companies that allow you to develop apps but most were not again, Christ centered so would allow porn apps and other things to be made which I did not want our Ministry to be part of.

Super responsive team and frequent updates

Overall we have been very pleased with our ongoing relationship with Subsplash. When I first began working with Subsplash, years ago, they were a fairly small company; I felt very important and really cared for as we set up our app. Over the past 12-18 months, I've really noticed a change in that type of care. I'm not naive to think that as they've grown they would be able to maintain the same level of guidance. However, I miss it and sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed and/or lost...like I'm not able to keep up or take advantage of updates in technology, maximizing user experience, etc.

Speaker 1:                                             I'm Daniel, and I'm the director of communications. I give Subsplash five out of five stars. For more reviews like this, click below. We were considering Subsplash, we looked at a few different product options. One of those was Pushpay which also includes giving but has their own mobile app. We looked at a few other providers, and really what we needed in the moment was something that was very user friendly, that multiple users could use. Something that was very drag and drop but also customizable. So a lot of the other software we looked at customizable, but very hard to navigate as a new user, hard to train people on. So we really needed to find something that anybody could learn very quickly. Something that was more intuitive and something that had a really nice user interface. And so that's why we wound up going with Subsplash. 
                                                       I chose Subsplash because when I looked at the user interface. It was nice and clean and easy to navigate. I could find the options that I needed, and when I clicked on those options I was able to do whatever I needed to do easily. Lots of drag and drop, which is huge for somebody to be able to learn and navigate easily. I could move things up and down in the app so that our congregation could find the things easily. And if there was something important, I could put that up top priority. So I was able to drag and drop things around, find what I needed. Then when it came to customizing I was able to make the graphics in the right sizes and add those quickly so that the look and feel of the app matched our graphics when somebody walked into the building. So there was a consistency along our brand, our message series, all of the things we were announcing. So people could connect our app to what they saw in person when they walked in the doors. 
                                                       So when it came time to get started with the app and onboard and really start building the initial app, Subsplash was incredible in helping us get started. Lots of tutorials, and chatting with them. Then we they gave me all the resources I needed, I went for it. I started building graphics and loading in content, and I was able to do that quickly and get the app up and running in a very short time. So I was able to get started with Subsplash, get trained, and then launch in a very relatively short window so that our congregation got the app in their hands as quickly as possible. 
                                                       The money and time involved with making a custom church app from the ground up is inaccessible to most churches, small or large. And so Subsplash gives you something that's prepacked that you can take and customize yourself, make it your own, add things, take away things. Design it for your people, add the graphics you need. So I can't recommend Subsplash enough for ease of use, for getting you started, for getting engagement of your people, how they can download something and be connected to your church so quickly, so instantly. You can change things and add things in a split second for them to see, and it's live real time so they see those changes immediately. So I can't recommend Subsplash enough because it's a great way to keep your congregation connected, keep people informed, and get them involved in what's going on in your church.

All-inclusive Media Delivery For Churches

Justin N.:                                             My name is Justin. I'm a marketing consultant for churches, and I give Subsplash five out of five stars. For more reviews like this, click below.
                                                       Before Subsplash, we were using a hodgepodge of different services, trying to deliver media and our website experience across multiple things. And we ended up choosing Subsplash for reasons we'll get into later. But Squarespace, as a website, did an okay job, but it had a tough time hosting our media. And using platforms like YouTube or Vimeo to deliver our videos didn't give us a smooth interface and we ended up having to update multiple platforms at multiple times. Using Squarespace and Vimeo and YouTube, trying to get everything to work together, it was not as smooth as it could have been for our church.
                                                       We chose Subsplash because it gave us a ubiquitous platform to host all of our media and much of our communications. We were able to upload our media to one destination and it syncs across our website and our app. They were able to give us, not only a website, but also host an app for us on mobile devices, as well as the TV, Apple TV, Roku TV, and Amazon as well. We were able to just do the work one time and it replicated itself across the different platforms, whether that was media as sermons or Bible lessons or teachings, or even just different commercials we wanted to host, and training videos. We upload it once and it was available across all the platforms.
                                                       We're able to specifically say what media we want on which page, build out a fully functioning website. And while it isn't totally everything you could ever do with a website, it does 90% of the job and it does it really well. Same thing with the app. It's very streamlined but, again, that's what we want. We want something that's easy to use, easy to jump into. All of those different things combined as well as some of the additional features, church specific like fill in notes and prayer requests, and even giving, just creates an all-in-one platform that we can just do the work one time and everything else takes care of itself.
                                                       Getting started with Subsplash was incredibly easy. First of all, they really hold your hand throughout the whole process. The app creation process, in general, to get an app on the iOS store or the Android store or the Google Play store is kind of daunting and difficult. But Subsplash made it very easy with their support documents and their onboarding system. They walk you through the whole process. In fact, they even give you some best tips and shortcuts to make the process even easier. And while you're looking at it thinking, "I got to be some technical genius to get this going," they put it in very simple terms and it really is just fill in the blank.
                                                       The website, they give you really good looking templates and you just fill in the information using your own best practices. And if you have any questions, you are assigned a project manager that helps walk you through the process. They checked in with us and let us know where we were in the various stages. And if we ever had any questions or, in fact, if we do have any questions about adding features and services, we can contact that same project manager. There are real people that answer the phone. Real people that reply to your emails or messages. And so, the whole onboarding process was really just holding our hand throughout the whole process. It was incredibly simple to get started. Any questions or difficulties we had, they were very quick to respond right away.
                                                       If you're considering Subsplash, there's just a few things that I think you need to know going into this. Number one, it is an investment. There are cheaper alternatives out there that do one job very well. But, again, you're going to have to put in the extra work to get the different platforms all talking and communicating with each other and you're going to have to duplicate some of your work on the backend to make sure all the information is the same. If you don't want to handle all that, if you want to just post something once and let it multiply across all the different platforms, Subsplash is 100% quality investment. If service is very important to you, Subsplash, absolutely. It is an investment.
                                                       Now, if you are on the other side, if you're someone that is very self-reliant and you like to tinker and get things exactly the way you want, you will find some limitations inside of Subsplash. Just know that everything they do follows best practices and, basically, what most people want to see and want to have. If you have anything specific, you're going to have a little bit of legwork and customization, and you might even be told no a couple of times, just because the platform isn't built to be 100% customizable. That said, if you do want something that just represents your church well, both online, in an app and creates a great user experience, both for the administrative side and the customer experience side, Subsplash is 100%, I think, the way to go.
