Walkabout Software is a cloud-based service management software designed to be used by appliance repair companies, which offers tools for managing scheduling, dispatching, invoicing, inventory, reporting, and more. Data in Walkabout is automatically backed up throughout the day, and can be accessed from anywhere through a web browser or the native iOS and Android mobile apps. Walkabout’s mobile apps allow technicians to receive job details, directions, log repair details, upload photos, enter payments, and more.


Walkabout allows users to create and dispatch jobs, with a drag-and-drop scheduler for call scheduling, instant view of all call locations on the service area map, and third-party address validation to check the precision and accuracy of provided addresses. Customer service histories can be accessed from any customer reference, providing complete information for decision-making. Warranty claims are generated automatically when a call is closed, and can be uploaded via FTP (file transfer protocol) to Service Power and Service Bench, managed, and tracked.

Walkabout’s inventory management and analytics tools assist users in setting stock levels based on actual usage, and in phasing out any dead stock. Users can manage part pricing and track the movement of parts, as well as creating and receiving purchase orders, and processing returns. Accounts receivable can also be managed, with emailing, billing, payment applications, and invoice printing in the field, and customizable late fees and finance charges giving users full control over customer billing.

As I slowly got this running while I was running my one man shop it became very apparent that it was helping on ALL aspects of my Appliance service Co bottom line, sure it is not fun BUT it is VERY effective to control things, I just got a lot under controlControl of everything from cust contact info , e filing of warrenty claims, wrap sheet on all appliances I work on as well as darta base for all the customers appliances, very handy when a cust call.

They are always adding new features and are very open to customer suggestions. Their product is a great choice for a company with a remote workforce that wants to establish a more personal connection/atmosphere with and among their employees. Comes with standard voice/video and text chat, plus handy features to know when someone is active, idle, or unavailable, etc. Each person can customize their workspace, so it feels a little more personal.
