The pricing is great, and I think it's a good starting point for any new shops or those who aren't tech savvy. All of the features that TRACS does offer, it does well.
The labor matrix is one of my favorite functions of Tracs. I like the ability to built pricing profiles.

Good product.

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

Easy to use and easy to make estimates. Easy to look up NAPA pricing.

Cons

I wish there was a way to add in additional owner info, like with a married couple, who wish I would call the one or the other at certain times. If there was a spot for two owners and a way to differentiate the phone numbers for each that would be very helpful.

NAPA TRACS is an easy program to learn and maintain. We use it in a company with multiple locations

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

The ease of writing and updating work orders is fantastic. I like that you can do everything from writing purchase orders to checking history and updating recommended service from one screen. I also like being able to program it for a "check and balance" reminder so a ticket can't be invoiced without a PO being received or without a customer group and cause of failure being entered. It is nice to also limit access for different employee groups so that for example a technician in the shop looking up parts can't unlock or change an invoice. In our company with multiple locations, it will also allow us to link into or change shops for customer and vehicle information.

Cons

The system has a way of changing edited items back on its own. There isn't anything more frustrating than to quote a customer an estimate, only to find that when you originally had two parts on the estimate ( such as two rotors ), the system had changed it back to a quantity of one. The same thing occurs if you edit a price, it automatically changes back....frustrating if you don't realize before you invoice.

Vendor response

Carolyn, I am going to have support contact you. There is no reason for a saved Work Order to have a part or price changed.

Is a good program. It could be a lot better.

Reviewed 2 years ago

For the most part, the program isn't too bad. It is relatively user friendly. In the "Cons" block is a list of issues that were noticed and some ideas that could make the system more user friendly.

Pros

The Schedule is easy to use. Ordering parts is very easy. ROs are clean and easy to read.

Cons

Shows another workstation in WO when they are not Unable to edit Part number Shows zero communication to order (1 on RO, 0 on PO; none in stock) If unsaved "New" RO is Open, will Default to that one when trying to start another New RO Anytime a RO is started, it should generate an appointment block Under "Appointments" tab, allow limiting to a single day. Receive all open PO’s at once Can’t drag...

Good overall shop management solution if you have an extremely great computer system.

Reviewed 2 years ago

Still plugging along with this hoping things will improve. The platform has the potential to be the best in the industry but needs a ton of cleanup in the code, improvement with the integrations and frankly, the price point is exorbitant for something with as many issues.

Pros

Overall a great shop management tool. Full featured and handles most all aspects of your shop from estimate through invoice along with history and accounting reports.

Cons

The code that drives the software is very klunky. It's so heavy to run that the best computer you can buy off the shelf at your local electronics supplier will struggle to keep up. Be prepared to invest in a computer that is WAY above average in both processor power and ram. Otherwise you'll be restarting your Napa Tracs several times a day to release the memory the software has bogged everything...

TRACS

Reviewed 10 months ago

TRACS has great customer service and TRACS was a great starting point for our shop, but the software could use some significant updates in interface and features. It's easy to use and effective, but making it an all-in-one software that features communication/texting, more comprehensive work order management, DVIs, etc. without having to pay for, sign up for, and manage 4 other integrations would make it significantly more competitive.

Pros

For what the software is, NAPA TRACS worked well. The pricing is great, and I think it's a good starting point for any new shops or those who aren't tech savvy. All of the features that TRACS does offer, it does well.

Cons

TRACS is slow to updates and changes. It only recently allowed the ability to capture digital signatures. There are still a lot of updates to the interface and features that it needs to make to compete with other software on the market. It works with third party software to bridge some of the features it lacks; however, having two different software is costly and clunky and often doesn't work the way it should. TRACS is very manual and unintuitive, and it very much feels like using an early 2000s software.

napa tracs review

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have introductory pricing and ProDemand at a good price as a bundle So that has been a good but once the price goes up I will end up paying for software features I don't use If there was a simple version available for a cheaper price with less features but still ties into Napa Tracs

Pros

1. ease of ordering Napa parts 2. plate and vin scan into work order

Cons

The software is cumbersome and difficult to learn for a small auto repair shop we dont use 75% of the features

Tracs come up short in reporting functions and support

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

The cost is reasonable. Once we adjusted to its unique style it is fairly functional for our daily use.

Cons

It reporting features for our 4 shops is abysmal. Getting support or response for requests to fix items is a no-go. Mostly the solution we are offered is to purchase a third-party work around.

Awesome shop management system.

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

The ability to import parts from vendors other then Napa including Dealers is a great feature. Having all of my pervious repair order in one place that is easy to search is also great.

Cons

I would like the see the ability to set an item as bulk to save time on inventory. When I order bulk oil from Napa I have to order outside of tracs then manually enter the quantity. If I order the oil through tracs it will show that the bulk item's part number has 1 on hand with a total price for say 55 gallons. If you enter that number on a customer repair order it will sell them all 55 gallons when they only need 5-6 quart. I would be nice to tell the software that such and such a part number is a bulk item and to sell it by the quart and have the software calculate the price per quart from the total.

Highly Recommend

Reviewed 2 years ago

We have been using them for a long time and they are constantly updating and keeping up with the times. The support is great and have always been able to help me with whatever I need.

Pros

It is very user friendly. We recently switched to Enterprise so we can easily order from Napa, Advance, Worldpac, etc.

Cons

I do not like the coloring on the screen. I liked to be able to easily see when parts were following the pricing rules. I also do not like how the appointment screen looks. It would be nice to be able to see a preview of what the ro is for. I also hate that the RO numbers do not come up when you order from anyone except Napa. Instead it puts a generic purchase order number and you have to guess what the part is for when it gets here.

Great product for the price

Reviewed 5 years ago

They are great at solving our company issues. we are a growing company and with that comes with growing pains. Tracs has been great in helping us grow our company and looking into the features we need for the future.

Pros

- Pricing - Multi-shop support - Reporting - Simple to use - Pricing profile per customer - Pricing profiles can be setup to support item type, item manufacture, by tech, by vendor, and so on - Updated at least once every 2 months - Great support channels

Cons

- inventory - open api could be larger(they are working on this to include more)

Outdated

Reviewed 2 years ago

I like the new tracs better than the old tracs but feel it is still outdated.

Pros

The ease of prolink built in and part ordering,

Cons

Returning parts is extremely tedious, lack of text features or built in DVI, most other cloud based softwares offer this inclusively with the cost of their software.

Its good record keeping. Not bad at making repair orders. Not worth the money.

A good system, great for keeping track of work done on customers' vehicles.

Reviewed 6 years ago

Streamlines the ordering/receiving process, making it easy to keep track of parts and billing. Easy to look up service history on vehicles.

Pros

Keeps records of all work, including parts and part numbers, performed on vehicles. Helps with inventory and stock. Customer support is great.

Cons

The records don't really give an accurate accounting of technicians time worked on jobs. Expensive. Does not necessarily work well on shops' existing computers.

Vendor response

Hi Gretchen, Labor times are tracked and added to each Technician once you invoice a ticket. I will have support reach out to you to see if they can assist you.

Great data tracking, and point of sale program

Reviewed 6 years ago

Helped me gather and retain much more customer and vehicle information than I previously had. Much easier to search back through past services and repairs.

Pros

I like the options and functionality it offers. I need to go through more training to learn how to use the rest of it, but what I've used so far is great.

Cons

Occasionally changes pricing if I've adjusted it on a work order. So I invoice it out and have to go back and change it to what I had previously quoted.
