What is SAP Analytics Cloud?

SAP Analytics Cloud is a wholly web-based SaaS solution for Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics for enterprise-level deployment. Built on SAP’s HANA Cloud Platform, the in-memory Platform-as-a-Service for building, extending and running applications within the cloud, the product consolidates analytics from a host of disparate sources into a single, centralized experience. This accessible, consistent approach to delivering real-time data analytics to every type of employee at every level of the business is supported by versatile personalization options, device optimization and prominent collaboration features.

An important aspect of SAP Analytics Cloud is the dashboard-based interface with built-in social collaboration. Aside from powerful data discovery, ad hoc reporting, planning, forecasting, visualization, predictive modeling and metric monitoring features, users can leverage conversational tools to share insights and action decisions more effectively. An events console adds calendar functions for defining tasks, synchronizing workflows and scheduling team member notifications.

Access and blend data from the browser without additional desktop installations for viewing visualizations, while hybrid SAP and non-SAP based data access makes connectivity to cloud or on-premise sources simple and quick without replicating data. Enrich BI insights with Big Data discovery and view dashboards, storyboards and reports all within a single pane.

SAP Analytics Cloud also has a companion mobile app available for iOS, repackaging the planning and analysis tools for remote access. Users can connect directly to the platform to leverage live business data where authorized, although sample data is included for trial purposes. Primarily, the app extends the collaboration and conversation capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud with colleague chat features alongside support for notifications and the receipt of event and task reminders while on the move.
