Easily Create Professional Documents and Letters and Save Them in Various Formats

Reviewed 3 years ago

I've used Word since Office 2010 was released and have installed it on almost every Business PC iI have worked on. It has become the standard in most businesses and they cater to end-users too meaning households can get access to the product at cheaper rates. After getting used to how it works, everything becomes easier to use and before you know it you will be making quality documents quickly and accurately as there is a built-in spell checker to help you.

Pros

I love that I can create any type of document that I need for any specific purpose. There are templates that make the process even easier. I can add pictures and modify text to suite all my needs. Saving documents in different formats like PDF is as simple as clicking Save As and selecting the File type from the drop down list. Word makes it easy and saves me alot of time which I can use on other business aspects.

Cons

I didn't find it user-friendly to beginners but after a week I found that I could use the program flawlessly. Other than that I am reallt happy.

Just for advanced users, for regular there are plenty of alternatives

Reviewed 2 years ago

For 2 decades MS Word was only choice. With new century and alternatives like OpenOffice or Google Docs buying MS Word for most of users is a mistake. If you are advanced user, need a version control (see how GitHub works btw) document workflow or doc management - maybe it will be a good app for you.

Pros

+ first mover advantage: they created a market, so everything that other alternatives implemented is some kind of copy/inspiration of "good old Word" + well known interface + no compatibility issues even between older .doc versions + great functions that can connect other apps from MS Office (like connecting to Excel to print envelopes with mail merge functions) + great online library of doc templates + commenting and editor functions + vocabularies

Cons

- price, especially that for most of functions you may use a free alternatives like Google Docs, OpenOffice, LibreOffice etc. - current layout is very hard to use comparing to MS Word 97 - who need a WordArt in the world of Canva? - consumes a lot of resources, especially if document contains some pasted images (it should have something like lazy load in websites)

Great assets but finicky

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Word outshines Google Docs or other alternatives in many ways. My favorites include being able to jointly review a document using Track Changes and comments, being able to save and re-use phrases/paragraphs in Quick Parts, being able to copy and paste font style using Format Painter, using the Find and Replace tool to quickly update multiple spots throughout a document, and being able to paste an excel list into Word to replace paragraph marks with a comma to create a comma separated list (or vice versa by pasting a blob of email addresses from Outlook into Word and replacing semi-colons with paragraph markers so I can plop it into Excel and have a clean, list that I can now sort and filter.

Cons

While I appreciate the great perks of Word, some of its features can be quite frustrating and finicky. When trying to train other users on Word it's hard to explain "sometimes it does this, but sometimes it doesn't"; I almost have to train with contingency plans. For example, when Word decides you want an extra blank page at the end of your document and despite removing paragraph marks and pressing...

Microsoft Word for college

Reviewed 2 years ago

So far I have not had any problems with this software, in fact I find it very easy to use, since it has commands that are very useful for university students who need their work to be uncomplicated.

Pros

I like that it has certain commands that make writing research essays easier. This, because it has, for example, bookmarks, automatic indexes, etc. Also, I like that everything is easy to do with necessary and visible steps.

Cons

I don't like that you can't use the internet so you can share the document with your essay partners, so you can make changes and be visible to everyone in real-time. And if that exists, it is not widely publicized and I don't even know how to do it.

Microsoft word Review - Everyone uses Word

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have used Microsoft word since I had my first computer and though I have tried other alternatives, I haven't seen anyone that comes close to providing the features and reliability that word offers.

Pros

Easily create and edit documents, CVs, resumes, agreements with clients, letters, and even invoices. Can be a good writing pad if you are writing a blog article A good number of templates to work it if you are not interested in creating a professional document from scratch. Allows for easy collaboration with other users

Cons

Pricing is the only issue I have with word.

Easily create professional documents from scratch or from existing templates, very friendly user interface and beginner-friendly to submit professional reports and edit documents

Most robust features in product category - offline access key for professionals that travel

Reviewed 2 years ago

There has become a significant improvement with the platform overall. Aesthetics have much improved, and the templates look more professional than ever, and help put together documents with nuances made possible (like even fine points of spacing) that allow a document in Word to be able to distinguish itself.

Pros

Robust with the most number of features in its product class. The ability to operate offline in a strong capacity is incredibly important particularly for traveling professionals. The number of design templates and how they look allow non-artists to create professional looking documents.

Cons

There are still challenges in collaboration where only one editor can be editing the document at a time, and the online collaboration abilities are a bit limited and not as frictionless as other products in its category.

No WORD can explain how amazing Microsoft Word is :)

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have used Microsoft Word throughout my whole life. From writing essays in schools, to marketing projects for a non-profit foundation, to mail merging Christmas letters for a cooperate company. Microsoft Word continues to make upgrades that makes the functions extremely easy to understand and figure out how to use them. I love the word count and formatting options when writing essays. I love the layouts and shapes that help create fun fliers for my office. Every software can open Word documents, opposed to Adobe documents that rarely let you open the document unless you pay for some type of subscription. Even if someone doesn't have Word, they can still view my document created on Word.

Pros

The most impactful feature for me was the Mail merge. It has steps that walk you through it one step at a time and makes it super user friendly. Using the mail merge option has saved me about 4 hours when doing our Christmas cards and envelopes. I also love how easy it is to format. You can either use the tabs up top or right click to get to formatting options. This software also has a lot of layouts, designs, and headers saved within so you can be creative and make a unique document without having any marketing or graphic design experience. It's also very easy to view and correct a document with their spellcheck and viewer. It also gives you suggestions as you write out your document.

Cons

I feel like there can be some improvements with working with words and images. I have some difficulty when creating a flyer and having to import/paste an image in and move it around without ruining the format of the document I already have. It would be nice to have the image stay clear but I'm sure that is due to the image pixels and not your software. It's hard to come up with a con because I truly believe this is the best software out there for creating documents.

MS Word -- A Tried and True Document Software

Reviewed 3 years ago

In general, MS Word is my go-to for document creation when I am the only one working on a document or when I am preparing a document to give to others. It isn't my favorite for live collaboration, but I much prefer the variety of features in the desktop version compared to the features of other document creation products.

Pros

I am very familiar with MS Word in general and have used it since I was in high school. I like its ease of use and in general, it has all the features I need for creating and tracking changes to the documents I work with on a day-to-day basis.

Cons

I do not like that it is now a subscription-based service. While the cloud version is free, it is limited in space and the features are slightly different. I do not think it is worth the subscription price and much prefer the desktop version to the web version (except for the ease of access of documents when I am out of the office). Formatting, especially in regards to tables, tabs, and margins, has a tendency to get messed up every so often in the browser version.

Does it an obsolete software?

Reviewed 2 years ago

The experience with this software is ok, however give a chance to free alternatives that can allow access from anybody.

Pros

The most advantageous use of MS Word is its reliableness when working offline. This software will deliver a great environment of useful tools for generating or editing text. Currently, this software is working really well on Mac OS computers and it seems that the day of crashes is far behind. I like to use the track the changes features especially now that can be made by multiple online users, as well as the interesting interaction it provides when working on a project together.

Cons

First of all, I am noticing people, especially the youngsters, are not using MS WOrd anymore. This fact can make you pass the frustration of sending a file to someone that cannot read it. People are preferring to use online text softwares, which is free. So it makes me to think if the price I pay for MS is worth it.

My simple Microsoft Word Reviews.

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have been using the Microsoft Office Word application for a long time ago since I was in college, At that time I am a Fanatic User of Microsoft Products before and until today since the version and release of Office 97. Until now I will recommend these products because it is a good software design for all levels of users whether it is newbies or oldies then can easily grasp the ease of use and features of this software due to more users design graphics and well-organized menus and tabs for the user's demands and needs.

Pros

Microsoft Office Word is one of the many products from Microsoft Office wherein we use in creating documents, particularly our daily reports, research output, paper school outcomes, and other office projects, like dissertations, memos, and convert it into many different file types that we can use and open it in other computers like a tablet, cellular phone, and in a different environment like open-source...

Cons

Like all Microsoft Products, Microsoft Word has its limitations and eccentricities. It could be more user-friendly, which is where some of the competing office applications. It is absolutely not good for creating original art or illustrations even though many users seem to think so. If we want original graphics that we want, then we should be creating them in some other application like Photoshops, Fireworks, etc., and them import them to the Microsoft Office Word application.

Fantastic software with comprehensive functionality and a range of tools for handling documents

Reviewed a year ago

Microsoft Word is a full-featured program that sets the industry standard. The combination between Word and Viewpoint is consistent. I will recommend this program since it is a well-designed computer program for clients of all expertise levels. I can send emails to clients more rapidly. In spite of its imperfections, Word remains my go-to computer program for composing compelling and engaging fabric. Microsoft Word offline editing spares my day, particularly when there's no web association.

Pros

Microsoft Word incorporates plenty of organizing choices that permit you to tailor your archives to your inclinations. Since of the expansive number of formats available, as well as the broad spelling and linguistic checks, anyone can make professional-looking papers. The page format, character designing, and passage designing apparatuses are very advantageous and empower the fast development of proficient and clear writing. It is basic to collaborate among a few people working on the same papers much obliged to the interaction with Microsoft Cloud 365. Microsoft Word permits clients to deliver archives quickly and effectively and keep them in one area.

Cons

I accept that working with words and visuals may offer assistance me superior. It may, be that as it may, be overwhelming at times due to the number of choices accessible. There are still issues with participation since as it were one editor may alter the archive at a time. I completely miss being able to tailor the organizing down to the character level.

Microsoft Word - The Old Standard Wordprocessor

Reviewed 5 years ago

I've used this software for so long, I have witnessed both the development of new challenges (working on the cloud, attaching documents to e-mail, using shared documents) and also the overcoming of old issues (working with different printers, losing formatting between versions, difficulties in converting from other software into Word). In the fast paced development sphere of word processors and publishing tools, Word can still hold its own, but is losing ground, as the printing and publishing sector changes. It is likely to be replaced on my hardware in the coming years, by app based software that delivers more quickly and can be used in conjunction with new online publishing tools.

Pros

It is comfortable. The original Microsoft Word that appeared in the 1980s took over typing pools, and was developed to allow typists to keep using their typing skills without a mouse. Many of the original "shortcuts", were key combinations which typists could pick up quite quickly. Since then, using the mouse in word processing , has taken off. Thank fully, the originally Word is still there just under the surface of the more robust modern versions.

Cons

Word performs really well in many applications, but seems to have a "memory" that eventually causes problems. I was working on a big report, which included pictures, text boxes, graphs and other presentation objects, and it was tough going to get everything to line up when I was inserting landscape pages, in a mostly portrait document, and then the whole document crashed. I lost some of my work, and...

The best platform to manage digital documents

Reviewed 2 years ago

My overall experience with ms word is great as I use it daily and most of my business documents are created with the help of this platform only. We use it to create a document that needs to reach the customers on a digital platform.

Pros

The best thing about ms word is that it can be accessed from anywhere without even an internet connection. It is one of the most secure platforms to keep important data. There are lots of tools to create attractive documents.

Cons

Although the platform is great but one thing I noticed is that for collaborative projects the user should have a strong internet connection.

Microsoft Word Review

Reviewed a year ago

My overall experience with Microsoft Word was positive. As a content creator, I found the app to be an essential tool for my work.

Pros

What I liked most about Microsoft Word was its versatility and user-friendliness. Whether I was writing a simple letter or creating a complex document, Word provided me with a range of tools and features to make the task more manageable. I also appreciated the app's ability to integrate with other Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and PowerPoint.

Cons

One thing that I liked least about Microsoft Word was its occasional instability and tendency to crash, particularly when working with large documents. Additionally, the app's automatic formatting features could be frustrating at times, especially when they interfered with my desired formatting choices.

Extremely functional software with a variety of tools to use in documentation processes

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, the software is one of the best, if not, the best platform available in the market to create documents. It offers a wide range of tools that will save you time like for example, the templates available to use and each tool will allow to create high quality documents. It is easy to use, although, certain features require a minimum level of expertise.

Pros

I have been using Microsoft Word for about 15 years and the software itself provides tools/features to build high quality written documents, reports, resumes and many other documents that are important in a business or any organization. From my user perspective, I use Microsoft Word for research based documents and to create tables/analyses. I use it on a daily basis to build SOPs, guidelines, research...

Cons

A feature that the application can improve is the fact that most of the time, the work does not save automatically and it causes you to lose all the progress you made with the word documents. It is also very difficult to recover unsaved files or the files can't be recover at all.

A reliable partner in everyday activity

Reviewed 2 years ago

I think it's a little costly, but I make professional use of writing, and this is affordable. Its complexity needs high system requirements, and its use isn't always fluid. One more thing: customer support isn't the best. It could be more streamlined and efficient. The same applies to account management: it's cumbersome and unnecessarily bureaucratic. A big enterprise like Microsoft can do much better for its clients.

Pros

I have used Microsoft Word since the '90s, and now I'm an advanced user. I am a career coach, and it's an everyday partner in my activity of creating and managing documents, effective CVs, resumes, letters, handouts, educational tools, projects, and agreements with my coachees. I love the power of a well-written presentation, and this tool and its advanced features are high-performative. In particular, I love the control panel; it's full of options and well-organized, and the style feature allows me to create beautiful documents. Another feature that I frequently use is the dictation tool: I can "write" while reading. It's accurate and fast!

Cons

I think it's a little costly, but I make professional use of writing, and this is affordable. Its complexity needs high system requirements, and its use isn't always fluid. One more thing: customer support isn't the best. It could be more streamlined and efficient. A big enterprise like Microsoft can do much better for its clients.

Word a tool for everyone

Reviewed 8 months ago

Word has allowed me to make important files during my academic studies, it is very easy to use, it has a series of tools that improve the presentation of the document, it also helps us to ensure that our tasks do not have spelling errors.

Pros

One of the advantages of word is that it has many tools that allow users to create creative files and with an excellent presentation, you can develop several research papers quickly and the best thing is that it has an autocorrector that allows you to know if a word is well written and avoid misspellings.

Cons

The cost of word is very high compared to other applications that offer the same for free, in addition to this for some people it can be very difficult to understand how to use word so they prefer other applications with a much simpler handling.

Pros

There are many benefits to using Microsoft Word. Cons

Despite all of its benefits, Microsoft Word has certain drawbacks. First off, the program is not free; it must be purchased separately or as part of the Microsoft Office package. Additionally, new users may find the vast array of functions and settings daunting and may need some time and training to fully operate the software. Opening documents written in other word processing programs occasionally results in formatting issues that may need to be manually corrected. Additionally, working with huge documents or intricate layouts may have an impact on the software's speed, resulting in sporadic latency or slowdowns.

I literally couldn't imagine my professional life without Microsoft Word.

Pros

Microsoft Word was already excellent when I started using it almost 40 years ago surprisingly it still continues to get even better and more powerful for every day that goes by I couldn't imagine my life without it.

Cons

When it comes to Microsoft Word I don't have much to complain about. However, I have to say if there's one thing I feel could be better it's the good old ribbon interface. It's just getting a little bit crowded with all its tools and sometimes it's hard to find the one I'm looking for. Thanks, Microsoft! 👍

Word voor het maken van softwaredocumentatie

Reviewed a year ago
