Depending on available data, qualifying products either had to be among the most user-reviewed or the most searched-for products in the k-12 software category. They also needed to have sufficient reviews about gradebook, have a minimum user rating of 3 out of 5 for that feature, and show evidence of U.S. market presence. User insights about the gradebook feature

Users find Google Classroom's Gradebook easy to use for grading and tracking student progress. They appreciate the real-time updates and the ability to see grades per assignment. Reviewers mention the integration with other systems like SIS and the ease of exporting grades. However, some users note the need for more features like weighted categories and better integration with district grading systems. Overall, the Gradebook is valued for its transparency and efficiency in managing grades.
“The way the gradebook works on both side works balanced and very well, as we get are grades immediately as our teachers release them with no problems. From what I know of the teacher side, it emails then as soon as we turn in an assignment, it tells them whether we turned it on time depending on whether a due date was set. It can also connect to other sites for grading and it will automatically set a grade in Google Classroom, but this depends on your district or county has or pays for those materials. The feature is very critical in school as it is the sole goal behind school, which is to make good grades and Google Classroom tool makes it very easy for both students and teachers.”

User insights about the gradebook feature

Reviewers appreciate Moodle's Gradebook for its transparency and ability to track academic performance. They find it useful for checking grades daily and comparing results with class averages. Users highlight the ease of exporting grades to Excel and the automatic creation of columns for assessed items. However, some mention difficulties with customization and consistency in grading. Overall, the Gradebook is seen as a valuable tool for assessing student progress and planning study goals.
“Gradebook in Moodle conveniently streamlines the process of assessing students. My favorite part is its capability that allows it to automatically create a new column in the Gradebook for an assessed item, which it then populates with the grades of the students. If the grades are auto-produced by a rote grader, then the instructor is left with a lot less stress.”

User insights about the gradebook feature

Reviewers appreciate Canvas's Gradebook for its ease of use and flexibility in organizing and viewing grades. They find it helpful to view grades by section or course, and to reorganize names and categories. Users value the real-time updates and the ability to perform 'what if' calculations for upcoming assignments. They highlight the SpeedGrader tool for efficient grading and feedback. However, some users mention the need for more options and easier calculation of quarter grades. Overall, the Gradebook enhances communication, motivation, and learning outcomes.
“GradeBook is one of my favorite features. It forms a grid of students for each assignment, wherein we view their grades. There is a button called SpeedGrader that opens a view for grading every student's assignment and giving a feedback. It really helps to have so many features loaded into the gradebook already. It makes the grading a cake walk.”

“The gradebook allows me to separate different types of assignments and calculate overall grade. The only negative is that there are extra steps involved when trying to calculate quarter grades...it is designed for semester grades. ”
