I used it as a fundraising platform for my college business org, a 501(c)(3). People enjoyed it and we got a lot of positive feedback from it.
I liked the UX/UI - it's a simple design with not an inundating amount of features that is easy and fun to use.
Brand recognition is pretty low - people are less willing to put their cc information into a website that they don't recognize. I think marketing could go a long way - maybe through a high profile fundraiser for some college phone-a-thon or something.

Overall, I would recommend Givebutter to other nonprofits. I can see the possibilities of all features available, and since we're quite new to the online CRM world, we are able to slowly do this without the expense of paying fees while we get our feet wet. Looking forward to all that is to come!
You cannot beat free! For the level of service, constant improvements, support staff that is responsive and collaborative, we have been very pleased. Is it perfect? No - but again, their responsiveness makes it so you can tailor things to your needs. If they don't have a feature you need, they do consider it and crowdsource how other users feel about it, and it often is the case that others need it too. We aren't used to such behavior in nonprofit world - we are often told to deal with it and still pay up!
We have used it most for our Auction gala this year. It was our first time doing such work completely online, and it went so well! There were some hiccups - some of that on our end as we had a learning curve as well. For the attendees - who ranged in age from 20s-80s, there was a struggle for the older crowd, but I hear this is the case for many who utilize any online platform. They felt the registration process and sustained connectivity were an issue. There were also some things we would have liked to control more around timing/closing of auction items and end reporting, but overall it was very usable.

I was so optimistic, but it fell very short in overall use during and after the event.
The best part was the lack of cost. It was free.
There's a ton of room for improvement for using this as an auction platform. Bidders and items need to be able to be sorted on the dashboard. Registering guests was cumbersome - they had to enter their info at least twice. Listing items was okay, but the display sheets that GB generates don't include photos, so I had to edit EVERY SINGLE DISPLAY SHEET to make it visually appealing/include a photo. Time consuming.

Givebutter is a must for fun(d)raising when all other ideas have been oversused (candle, pizza, sub and candy fundraisers). It gives people the opportunity to donate money for the cause without having to make an unnecessary purchase--adding yet another candle to their collection etc. Nowadays, most donors would rather pay digitally than writing out checks (some do not even have checks any longer)....
There was no feature we did not like that were utilized. Loved the platform!

Overall Givebutter has been a great addition to our non-profit, allowing us to replace an expensive Wordpress plugin with a fully featured platform that allows us to track donors, donations, and all kinds of data easily.
I liked the ease of use of Givebutter. The UI/UX is fantastic and intuitive. I was up and running with my first donation form in a matter of minutes and Givebutter replaced a dedicated donation plugin on our website.
Personally, the name Givebutter, is the only thing I would change. It's a goofy name to say to people when you're trying to ask for a donation or explain the system you want them to interact with. More than once I have received funny looks when saying the name. I wish we could initiate a payout from the mobile app, instead of having to log in to the web version. I suppose this may be a security "feature", but it is sometimes an inconvenience.

Awesome - very supported right from the get go, and really easy to use from the user end and admin end.
We used Givenbutter for a Fund-a-Thon at the elementary school (raise money and run laps type event). Most of our families do flat rate donations so it worked great. We were able to raise money based on each class and it really built community. The best thing was the platform fee is $0 (if you have the option to tip “turned on”) and because the “please cover processing fees” is autochecked and givers have to un-check it, we only had to pay $40 (of $20,000+ in fees). For reference, our fees on a different site the year before were $900. So huge savings!!
If more folks are going to use Givebutter for school fundraisers, there are definitely some add ons that would be great - like a unique link for each class/child, the ability to pledge and then be charged based on the actual number of laps completed (without having to have the donor return to the site). But these are extras - what it is right now works just great.

The acceptance of online gifts, creating appealing campaigns and the auction are all wonderful reasons to go with Givebutter. We had our first silent auction with it and it was SO fun!
Being able to accept donations online is HUGE, we can take Paypal, Venmo, CC etc all through one platform and it's SO nice!
Some have complained that there's a few steps too many to complete a donation, it's a learning curve but we're getting more organizations across town to use this platform so more people will get used to it.

Really great and easy
For it being free there’s SO many great things about it. I expected a low rated platform but it’s really great.
When donors reoccuring donations fail, I cannot see why or help in anyway and they end up just giving up if the situation isn’t fixed.

We've had a great experience with GiveButter. The website we inherited has a clunky donor module both to work with, but especially for donors. GiveButter's is streamlined and easy to set up.
What I like most is the ease of use and the look and feel of the product.
If I'm going to be honest, the only thing I don't like about the product is the name. I feel I have to explain what the product is to potential donors because of the name.

We needed a platform for peer-to-peer fundraising and greater functionality of online forms and this met the need with a fast start-up, easy transaction processing and detailed reports.
Super easy to use, easy for donors to use, fast start up
The issues that we had with event ticketing were our biggest issue. We will be exploring how much more fully we could be using Givebutter in the future.

It has been great. The customer service team is understanding and quick to respond. If there's something I ask for that isn't an option, they will add it to their list of requests and usually get to it in about 6 months or so depending on how popular of a request it is. I can't wait to see what they come out with next.
Love that it is easy to use for admins and donors. The Givebutter team is so open to feedback and makes frequent updates that help us fulfill our need better
They automatically add a 5% tip to every donation unless you opt to turn it off, in which case you would absorb the cost as an organization. It's definitely the more feasible choice to have it turned on, but beware if your donors don't notice it, they might come back to you very unhappy...

We had to change the way we were accepting online donations due to a change in what our parent organization was requiring in terms of security documentation. And, we needed to do it very quickly. GiveButter was able to provide the necessary documentation we needed for the "higher ups" and was very easy for me to get set-up and working.
Love how easy it was to create and implement an online donation campaign.
No disappointments at this stage, but we have only used it for accepting online donations.

We are delighted that donors can cover the cost of fees if they decide too (and we can opt to ask them to or not). I am finding it super easy to use and if I have a question, I can get an answer pretty quickly!
GiveButter is straightforward and easy to use! It's also flexible in that you can start out using it for fee (aside from fees). I like that we can set up easily new campaigns and track donations to them. The customer support is great and very responsive (even without the premium account). It has allowed our organization to try out text to give without investing in a contract and we have been using it for our regular donations as well because it's so easy and we can ask donors to cover the fees if they want (and most of them do!).
Where you make changes to your campaign/settings-- isn't super intuitive to me (I hunt around on where to find what I need to tweak). If the payout history could get provide detailed reports that would help out accounting (it's in the works, I believe?)

Overall, it's a good-looking platform that we've been able to use easily. Newer integrations could use improvements, but based on past experience, those will likely occur.
Being able to use different campaigns and customize them is great! It provides the ability to reach different donor groups and is easy to track.
I wish there was a storefront feature as well. Sometimes we have trouble with the custom emails and sizing of images despite following the specs provided by Givebutter, so that could be improved. I was one of the first auction users, and there were some issues, but overall it ran smoothly. However, there are far too many individual tracking steps that need to be consolidated.

I would highly recommend Givebutter to anyone looking for an easy to use and engaging fundraising platform. It's especially great for college student organizations. My student organization has used Givebutter since the beginning and we have seen them continue making updates and improvements to make it even better. PFTK loves Givebutter!
Givebutter is an easy to use platform that is fun and engaging, especially for college students. What first drew us to Givebutter was that they keep fees super low, which isn't found on any other platforms. We also love the team fundraising option and your members can even personalize their page. The new event feature for selling tickets is a plus. They also have excellent customer service! The team really makes it personal and you can always get in touch in a timely manner.
I can't think of any. They are always making improvements. The Givebutter team is very open to feeback and will do everything they can to make your experience better.

It has been one of the best decisions I've made for our nonprofit. It integrates seamlessly with our DRM (which we will leave at the end of our current contract if Givebutter develops the ability to capture my historic donation data). Customer service continues to stun me even though I know they are world class...it still impresses.
The software is intuitive and robust and the best of all that is possible with Givebutter is the absolute world class customer service.
The inability to import historical donation history to be able to fully take advantage of the platform.

We are just starting out but after using a well known software with another nonprofit, I am looking forward to what I have seen so far. It seems to be very user friendly with the features we were looking for and more. It feels simplistic in a very good way - not overwhelming and yet covering a lot of important needs of a donor management software. It was easy to log in and set up the account. I am excited to have found Givebutter and look forward to it making my work easier and yet thorough.

I love everything about Givebutter. They do not charge unreasonable rates on donations, features like ticket purchasing are very convenient, and the staff is AMAZING and very receptive to feedback.
Absolutely nothing upsets me about Givebutter. They really are concerned with costumer satisfaction and try to work alongside nonprofits, rather than against them.

We have been pleased with how user-friendly the page is and how easy it was to share and get our campaigns launched. We liked the idea of passing the fees and processing costs to the donor or purchaser so we could received the total amount of the donation.
Nothing so far. Everything we have used this for has been a positive experience. Would like to see a point-of-sale option for users in the future so we could process card payments and continue to pass the fees along to the purchaser.

This platform is so much easier to navigate, way more intuitive, and overall just looks better and cleaner than other platforms we have used in the past!
As a startup non-profit we were getting killed by fees by other fundraising platforms. Givebutter gave us a place to breathe, to build, and did so with SUCH EASE. I LOVE this platform!
I need to spend more time in Givebutter, but for now I don't have complaints.

I love how easy it is to use and how quickly you can get campaigns up and running.
The reporting by campaigns. I wish there were individual reports for each campaign within the larger one.

I love that this software allows donors to interact with the fundraisers they're supporting. You can view donors' reasoning for donating to a cause and donors have the option of supporting a specific team member they might be connected to. Givebutter also has amazing customer service - if I ever reach out with a question, Max provides a quick and valuable response.
Honestly, I haven't identified something that I don't like about Givebutter's software. I'm happy that fundraisers' urls now reflect the name of the campaign rather than a random assortment of numbers and letters. That was a great change!

GiveButter has been an absolute life saver. Every component of the website is extremely innovative and is constantly upgrading to be the best that it can be. Donors have spoken so highly of it as it is very simple and easy to navigate and use. Each member can create his or her own page which helps form friendly competition which increases fundraising. Furthermore, the GiveButter team is so kind and responsive — they will answer any questions and be there to support you every step of the way. In the past, I have used sites such as CrowdRise which feel like scams. GiveButter is the opposite; they want you to succeed and maximize fundraising!
There is nothing I do not like! It is truly the best.

Our Teeter-Totter Marathon campaign has seen a boost in giving since we started using Givebutter in 2021. Much of that is due to the level of engagement and mostly real-time measurements (limits are not due to the platform) of the event's success. We are grateful to have this platform available to us.
I like that's it's free for us to use and we can "tip" them after our always-successful campaigns. Having a platform that's not cost-prohibitive but fully-featured is a blessing.
I cannot think of anything we've had issues with or felt was missing.

GB has given us the ability to have fundraisers and auctions online and with ease of planning and execution. Easy to use and able to theme for campaigns.
Ease of use, the ability to do social campaigns that are creative and help us raise funds.
Bit of a learning curve for donors but now like it
