Pros and cons

We absolutely loved the onboarding support and the monthly support we are receiving. We love how there is the opportunity to ask a question by clicking the chat box.
The best part of Network for Good is the ease of use. The built-in information tips and help guide you every step of the way.
I smile thinking about where we will be at this time next year because I know the Network for Good team will continue to coach and encourage us on towards excellence in the fundraising field.
What’s worse is that we discovered this accidentally, they already know about it because of complaints, and don’t seem interested in fixing it.
I was getting advice from too many people -- but the advice consisted of links to things that made no sense at all to me. I complained somewhat loudly about this issue.
If I had one complaint it's that the one-on-one training sessions are 30 minutes rather than 45 or 60 minutes.

Gamechanger for no profits!

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, the Team at Network for Good is very helpful and available. The resources are helpful for small/growing nonprofits as well as larger ones. I have used the resources for a few years prior to using the software. Its has been a gamechanger for the work I do full-time as well as my time serving as a Board Member.

Pros

I love how easy it is to set up campaigns and donation pages! I also REALLY appreciate all t he training and resources that are available for free!

Cons

I did not like that I wasn't using it sooner. I've only used it for a few months and I have enjoyed the little that I have used.

Vendor response

Candy, I love that your con is that you regret not using us sooner! :) Thanks for the review!

Good value, great functionality

Reviewed a year ago

I am very satisfied with the product so far. My team sees the value in it and we are able to justify the cost even as a small non-profit because of the value it provides us as a donation platform and advanced CRM.

Pros

I love the ability to send videos to a donor by recording and personalizing the message all within the platform. I had spent a lot of time in the past trying to find a third party to host these features and could not find anything as simple or integrated as this. The custom reports and groups are very easy to create and help to organize our data well. The user experience is great -- it was much easier to learn and then to teach my team than other softwares like SalesForce. I like that the appearance is simple and clean. We really appreciated the assistance with data migration from our old software.

Cons

I wish that for the price it included a dedicated support representative instead of the ticketing system they have in place. The response time is usually good but I prefer being able to ask someone for help that I already have a relationship with. I also wish there was a bit more technical help -- like a 30 minute one-on-one live virtual tutorial -- with onboarding items like mapping with Quickbooks or setting up the email domains. We are a small team and none of us are trained in IT support. Reading the help articles only helps so much. The last thing I will mention is that I receive a lot of automated emails from multiple people on their team and it becomes a bit overwhelming especially in the beginning of learning the new technology.

To stay with NFG or not to stay... this is the question

Reviewed 5 years ago

No

Pros

I’ve enjoyed the variety of the e-blast templates. I’ve recently had a very good experience w/ Customer Solutions Specialist, Lenny Wrigley who helped me troubleshoot a very urgent request for one of my donors.

Cons

The poor communication between the NFG Team and the customers paying for the services. One example was NFG changing e-mail servers and not warning the good paying customers. We lost a lot of communication with our donors the day before # givingtuesday

Vendor response

Hi Katy, Thanks for sharing your feedback about your great experience with our support team member, Lenny! Regarding poor communication with our customers: Thank you for sharing your frank feedback. Hearing from customers is how we make improvements. Speaking of improvements... We're constantly evolving our customer communication and outreach every week. We are working on some team restructuring...

Functionality is Worth the Learning Curve

Reviewed 4 months ago

Donor engagement is improved. Donations are up 18% over the previous year. Our Fundraising Coach has been excellent in getting us up and running. Love that donor communications, appeals, logging and monitoring is all consolidated in one platform,

Pros

The options to create professional looking e-blast templates, monitor response rates to appeals and emails has been a game-changer for our donor and volunteer communications.Quick and easy donor acknowledgements via email using templates that can be individualized to the donor and sent--saving so much time, printing supplies and postage, while giving better donor response.GAllery of other non-profit templates for inspiration.Access to support articles.

Cons

It may just be my "newness" to the software, but the Create Filter feature seems a bit cumbersome. I'd like to be able to select an existing filter to use as a template rather than starting anew.

Vendor response

Hey Sharon, Wow, thanks for your review! Huge congratulations on your sponsorship and growth. We're so thrilled to hear all your feedback and to be accomplishing our mission of helping nonprofits grow their good. It's so important for you to be able to lean on Network for Good for fundraising guidance and quick communication tools! And thank you for the feedback regarding repeat filters. It is possible to save templates in our software, and I would encourage you to check out our live daily office hours, help center, or ask your coach for help with this. Thanks so much for being a Network for Good customer! Keep doing awesome things :) Kathleen

The Go to for Fundraising Softwares

Reviewed a year ago

I would highly recommend NFG to anyone looking to have an easy way to accept online gifts or tickets for events and keep track of their donors, including communications. NFG has saved us valuable time and money. The customer service team is wonderful and always there to help with any questions or concerns. It is easy to migrate data to NFG, and a team is there with you every step of the way.

Pros

NFG is truly an all-in-one software for nonprofit database, donation, and communications. No more trying to integrate with multiple softwares. NFG makes it easy to group supporters/donors and segment communications.

Cons

NFG is constantly integrating new ideas and upgrades to its software. I would like to be able to easily group contacts who have started peer campaigns but that is not an option at this time. There isn't a volunteer database, sign-up side to this software.

Vendor response

Hi Jenn, Thanks for the review! We're excited to receive this feedback because it means we're accomplishing our mission of helping nonprofits grow their good. How Network for Good helps a small nonprofit

Reviewed 2 years ago

I am delighted to be back with NFG. I only have one place to check to send emails to donors, and now videos to thank donors. I can see who has donated and check on their past history. Network for Good has been a blessing for this small nonprofit.

Pros

In 2008 as we revamped the Ghanaian Mothers' Hope website, we realized that online giving options were a thing of the future and we needed to add an online donation page. Through my work with a Maryland NGO program, I was introduced to Network for good and their incredible workshops for nonprofits. After attending several workshops, I convinced my board that we should subscribe to NFG. The donation...

Cons

The thing I like least about NFG is the payment structure. Waiting until the middle to the month to receive payment for our donations is sometimes difficult. Also, finding the report for the payment is sometimes confusing since it is only used once per month. I would prefer our donations be more automatic. It takes a while to understand how to create good reports.

Vendor response

Hey Deborah, Thanks for your review! Wow, and welcome back! We're so thrilled to hear all your feedback and to be accomplishing our mission of helping nonprofits grow their good. And thank you for the feedback regarding our payment distribution. Your disbursements should be automatic via ACH, and we do have the option for rapid disbursement. I have let our team know about your request, and they will reach out soon. But we also encourage you to join any upcoming live office hours, held daily, to ask our team for more support should any of these types of inquiries arise. Thanks so much for being a Network for Good customer! Keep doing awesome things :) Kathleen

Network for Good - friendly interface and great communication features for nonprofits

Reviewed 2 years ago

We received consistently good support from Network for Good during the transition period when we migrated our data from the old system into the new program. They helped us figure out how to best set up our new management system. The technical support is also very good. We receive responses to questions very quickly or within a few hours.

Pros

Network for Good's design and bundled features make it extra easy for our Executive Director and staff of our small nonprofit organization to handle donor management tasks and communicate with our donors and other contacts. We had been using another donor management system with a much less user-friendly interface and only two people were able to figure out how to use it. Now, our Executive Director...

Cons

The only feature that I would want to improve is to make the design of the giving pages a little more flexible.

Vendor response

Great Software

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall great software and great customer service.

Pros

Easy to use, implementation and launch was fairly seamless, allows for multiple users and roles to be defined and it’s fairly user friendly

Cons

There is not a ton of flexibility in use - which makes it user friendly but sometimes requires extra thought to get what you need in a report.

Great for the Value!

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall, this is a great product. The ease of use is without match and it is perfect for an organization of our size and capacity. I love that people can fundraise for us, and look forward to engaging more donors to do this as we get even more of a handle on the software.

Pros

I love how accessible this software is. When you don't have a lot of time to dedicate to learning a new program, for the most part, this is extremely intuitive and you can learn as you go, and in nonprofit where things move really quickly and you may wear many hats, I am sure this is something very appreciated by users.

Cons

I would have like auto-acknowledge in the system for online gifts. Imports should be easier. If I name a campaign that is remotely like something that already exists in the system, the system should allow me to choose it instead of duplicating and causing a "data mess." "Global changes" if such a mess occurs would be helpful so that everything can be changed at once instead of one by one. Not being able to refund in the system is also a pain. Peer-to-Peer could also be easier in that it is difficult to do so as an organization or business as opposed to a person, every time we use it, we have to find creative ways to edit the name above so that the fundraisers can appear as desired by the teams starting the page.

MISSOURI DISABLED WATER SKI ASSOCIATION (MDWSA) Review of Network for Good

Reviewed 2 years ago

MDWSA is reaching more people, getting more people with disabilities involved and active, recruiting more volunteers, and receiving more donations. What more can be said. Our donors are making a difference!

Pros

MDWSA likes most if not all of the features and we're still learning. It keeps getting better. Donor Management, Email Blasts, Online Presence, Analytics are all top-level options for us. We still need to understand using the video components.

Cons

So far, we haven't found any cons with the software.

How AWESOME is that!

Reviewed 4 years ago

In my experience, the donor staff often serves dual or multiple roles, breaking in a new system generally requires more time that you already have so little of. This was a huge factor in decision making for me, NFG doesn’t have a steep learning curve and their support to transition is the BEST. I’m well acquainted with the “Blackbaud’s Raiser Edge and e-Tapestry”, as well as others and unless you...

Excellent Donor Management / Communication Software

Reviewed 2 years ago

We are very happy with selecting Network for Good. We did in-depth research and demos with 8 donor management software companies. Our team that did the research unanimously selected Network for Good.

Pros

The software provides a foundation for donor management and communication with donors. We easily loaded our contacts from Mailchimp(c) and financial information from Quickbooks (c). The system is easy to use. It notifies us when a donation is made. I can check it on the phone. My favorite feature is that donations can be acknowledged with an individual custom video, easily made on your phone or laptop and sent to the donor via text or email. Our donors LOVE this. Reasons we selected the software were it automatically generates a receipt to donors that donate online; it was easy to set up; and the cost was reasonable.

Cons

There are some missing features. I would like to be able to send a video thank you do donors. At least I'd like to save a vdeo and send to many people. During our main giving season and gala, when donations are rapidly coming in, I would have to record numerous individual videos every night. I'd like to record a video and then send. Also, I would like to generate an automatic receipt for donations not thru our website, those sent in by check that we enter into the system.

NFG has changed our org for the better!

Reviewed 3 years ago

You need to know this - the customer service we've received from Network For Good is AMAZING. I am serious! We had Neon before, and it was like pulling teeth to get ANY help. I am a customer service maven and I hated dealing with neon but I LOVE dealing with Network For Good because they help us to feel as if they value our business. The chat function works almost immediately and every query has resulted in a viable solution. What's not to love?

Pros

The reporting feature in Network For Good is intuitive and easy to use and integration with Neon was nearly seamless. We were able to cancel our email service with another company since Network For Good enables sending eblasts from the CRM - literally at the click of a mouse! And this system adjusts the profile should a donor unsubscribe. We are saving money and enjoying using this CRM - and I cannot say enough about their attentive customer service!

Cons

I'll let you know once I figure this out because I haven't encountered a problem yet!

Vendor response

Hi Jenine, Thanks for the review! We're excited to receive this feedback and helping you grow your good. It's so important for you to be able to lean on Network for Good support! Thanks so much for being a Network for Good customer! Keep doing great things :) Kathleen

Easy and effective donor management

Reviewed 2 years ago

The NFG software has been a very important part of my small non-profits donor management. It also gives me periodic tips and plans that are easily laid out so that execution is simple.

Pros

Ease of use is the what I like most about this software. Creating reports is easy and makes sense. Dashboard gets me to where I want to go quickly, and gives me a snapshot for quick phone calls from my board members wanting quick answers. Customer service always helps in a fast and friendly way.

Cons

Great product for a small growing non-profit!

Reviewed a year ago

I wanted a simple software that could at a glance let me know where we are financially and that had an easy communication tool. NFG has that and my team all love it.

Pros

We picked Network For Good because of the free video and text options for communicating with our donors. It was a simple and easy product to use and learn. And for the price!

Cons

One thing that I wish was different about the software, is that I wish there was more flexibility in the design area of the fundraiser pages and the email design. I am a person who loves fonts and graphics and moving things around. And the pages and emails are simple to create but with that you loose some customization ability.

Couldn't be happier with my choice!

Reviewed 2 years ago

I've had great customer service, I think the price is right in line with other products and I'm getting a much better product. The conferences and webinars NFG puts on are really high quality. I get so much more than just software.

Pros

The features I love the most are the filter and grouping options in the donor management, as well as the easy to use fundraising pages that link to my website. OH! And I also really love the communication options. The emails are such a timesaver when sending a thank you and the option to send out newsletters is fantastic and makes me look very professional and modern.

Cons

I didn't like that there wasn't an auction function, but now that there is I have no complaints!

A review from someone who never writes reviews

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overwhelmingly positive. If you're a development director, at least consider looking into this software. It has made my job so much easier. I am not someone who gushes for companies or products often, but this has made my life/job SO much easier, I am NFG's newest and biggest microphone. 10/10 would recommend

Pros

The simplicity. Anyone who is reading this who is thinking of getting out of eTapestry or something because of how ludicrously non-intuitive it is, this is your software. I love how straight forward and user friendly it is. Everything just makes sense and is so easy to use.

Cons

I honestly don't really any glaring con, at least yet. It took me a second to figure out the texting aspect but doing a quick webinar with them explained everything. Every small issue I've had was easily explained by their help desk or webinars or whatever. Very easy to get help, unlike past platforms we've been on

Organization is key to fundraising

Reviewed 2 years ago

Amazing overall experience. The help with creating "task" is like an educational drill where after you schedule your first campaign, you realize what it takes to organize a campaign with the tools isn't difficult. You can plan two weeks to a month of scheduled videos, emails, text and video in 1 - 3 days.

Pros

What we like about the platform is being able to communicate to our supporters without the use of multiple platforms. It really changes the game when you can see everything on one platform that lets you target your support base with ease.

Cons

I haven't experienced any cons. I would say it was pricey, but after using network for good, I realized how much time and money we saved. We can't afford to hire a full time fundraising manager, so this platform helped us out in a great way.

Fantastic software for small to medium nonprofits!

Reviewed 2 years ago

From my sales person to every single person I have talk to since, I have received top notch customer service. They were willing to show me the ropes and also have great Webinars that are free even if you don't use their software. I love NFG and I look forward to helping other nonprofits find this great piece of software with excellent staff.

Pros

I have used many different fundraising and donor management systems from the most expensive to middle of the row to inexpensive. Network for good gives so much of the tools and functionality that the big guys do for a small yearly fee, and they guarantee their product will help you raise more money than before, which is nice when you are pitching to a board that has never utilized a fundraising/CRM tool before. We raised double what we paid with our first appeal!

Cons

Some of the tools are a little more clunky than I'd like them to be, but once I figured it out, I've really enjoyed the process. I also find that creating something in canva pro (free to nonprofits) and using it as an email or a newsletter is seamless, which allows us to have a more holistic social media plan.

Lifesaving

Reviewed 2 years ago

My experience with Network For Good has been smooth, simple and satisfying. What a relief! I worked with trainer [SENSITIVE CONTENT] for the first three months, and this training was more than worth the additional cost. She made sure I understood all the features -- especially the ones I would have ignored if no one had showed me how to use them -- so I now feel qualified to get the most out of what the system has to offer and confident to explore new features. I almost actually love fiddling around with my donor database now. It's fun! What used to be a nightmare is now a pleasure in my day-to-day job.

Pros

Network For Good delivers on ALL the claims they make during the sales process. It has everything I need, and nothing I don't need. It is simple and intuitive to use. It is reliable. Training and support opens doors to features I would not have explored on my own. I trust the data and the reports. Because it is so well-tailored to my small non-profit, it allows me to do so much more with the information than I have ever been able to do before.

Cons

One tiny thing -- we are located in a summer resort community where many of our donors live elsewhere in the winter, and there is not an option to track two home addresses. My workaround, however, was easy. I simply put the summer or winter address in the Employment Information section as the company address. Voila! Problem solved!

The greatest feature of NFG software is how everything is integrated seamlessly into one place. No more hunting for information in several different software products. Also, it is so easy to use for donor management, communication and setting up events. I wish we had switched sooner!

Cons

I have not found anything I really don't like. I do wish there was a way for donors to give using bank draft. I have a donor right now that would like to do this.
