Quick e-sign with HelloSign

Pros

HelloSign was simple to install and use. It made it easy for me to rapidly create a contract template that I could reuse when signing up new clients. Other extra functions make it far more helpful than it seems, but I didn't really have to apply many of them because I only needed them for a small task.

Cons

I had one issue with HelloSign, and it was hard to discover the section I was looking for. I wanted to create a template contract that would be a link on my website that people could click to quickly and easily sign the document, but I couldn't figure out where to do that or how to set up the layout appropriately.

If you can open an email, you can sign electronically.

I've had trouble in the past with clients, particularly older ones, who did not know how to electronically sign a document. This is incredibly easy for them to use. I have not had one client who was unable to sign. This became very important during Covid when even local clients were unable to sign in person. I've used other software, usually through their free trial offer. When I tried HelloSign as a free trial offer, I was sold.

Pros

We send tax documents to clients across the country. Now they can easily sign them and return them to us. They do not required any specific software, apps or know-how. If they can open an email, they can sign the document. This is especially important for our older clients and our non-English speaking clients. It does not integrate with my software, but that is because they have their own program they want you to buy. But it is easy to print to PDF and drag and drop. Another great feature is the automatic email reminders that you can set up. I can tell if a client has viewed the document, signed the document, or if only one spouse has signed. But I do not have to monitor this daily. HelloSign will send reminders that they have not completed all actions.

Cons

My tax software normally issues a password for each set of documents which I cannot use when sending out the signatures. This may be something that is available in an upgrade, but not in the standard package. Although we normally verify them anyway, we take extra steps to ensure that the email address is correct/current.

Easy, but missing essential functions.

Overall, for the cost, this product is great. If I need additional functionality, I'll pay the additional cost for another product. But, this does basically all the things I need for a fraction of the cost.

Pros

HelloSign is extremely easy to use. There's basically no training required. It's all straightforward. Items can be required or optional. Text fields, signatures, initials, etc., can be added by drag and drop. Templates can be created from any document. It's also very low cost compared to similar products.

Cons

We use HelloSign through Brokermint for real estate brokerage transactions. I wasn't able to save an e-sign document draft, then come back to finish it later. I had to either complete the document or lose it. There isn't a strike through feature, as is common with these products, so the workaround is to insert a text box over existing text and use underscores to strike it. I'm required to add a signer to every document, even if it's myself, but sometimes I just want to add a textbox and save it without needing a signature. Also, as an admin, I wanted the ability to access documents of users, but I don't think that's possible. I was only able to access documents to which I was the creator or a signer.

Excellent Value when compared to their biggest competitor

Excellent Value for Entrepreneurs and Start-Ups. ULIMITED actually means UNLIMITED, unlike their more expensive competitor who offer unlimited until you get to 8 sends per month, then their 'fair-use' policy kicks in to charge extra fees or attempts to coerce you into 'upgrading'. Thus far I have sent 27 documents out for e-Signature. ZERO ISSUE. Smooth. I get an email verifying the Send, the Read and the instant the doc has been Signed by each party, and then a Completion Notice. Overall I wanted value for my $$$... I found that with HelloSign. Very happy!!

Pros

Cons

I wish the HelloSign APP was available in Canada. No idea why it's not. Makes ZERO sense to me. I can still access it on my phone but I have to sign in using a mobile browser, and THAT means my use can be tracked by companies like Google and Samsung... I DO NOT LIKE THAT! I like an APP that I click on and I'm right there to do business without the extra strokes and 2FA. That annoys me.

Perfect for Construction companies and builders

We love Hellosign. We don't see us switching over to any other platform any time soon. Besides the one flaw this software has, it has shown several solutions for flaws found in competitors.

Pros

The software is really user friendly. We switched over from a competitor due to the lower price with HelloSign. They fit our needs perfectly and we love that we don't get limited to how many documents we can send a year which was an issue with every single competitor I have come across with.

Cons

You can't modify a document after it's been sent. Sometimes one customer has signed but the document isn't complete until all parties have signed. This is the only flaw I have seen. It can make it difficult as sometime we decide only one customer signature is good, then we can't simply remove the other person who won't sign off of it. This makes us have to recreate the entire envelope to resend to customer and explain to them why they are resigning. Having this feature would save everyone a lot of time and would be greatly appreciated.

Overall, I love it. It has made it so much easier to comply with the state laws regarding our required notices It is easy and convenient to send to our clients and they can get back to us anytime that works for them. No longer are we driving around trying to meet up with clients to get their signature for legal purposes. Saves, time, money, and my sanity.

Pros

I like that it is very cost effective and just as easy to use as the bigger names. I recommend this product for all companies that need contracts signed. Especially contractors that have to give out legal disclosures. Simple, fast, affordable. Well worth the membership.

Cons

The only bummer is that it can be a bit annoying if you go to start inserting signatures, initials, dates, etc. and then see something in the document that needs to be edited. In order to fix the document you have to re-upload it and then redo any signature boxes or dates boxes again. However, I this is the same with any electronic signature software. They can't help it if I make a mistake on my main document, so really not that big of a deal. Also, one time I had a bit of a weird issue during the renewal of our billing but it was quickly resolved and handled by customer care.

Nothing fancy, gets the job done

We use this for internal purposes as well as having our workshop participants sign agreements. For the most part, everyone seems to use it just fine.

Pros

It does everything we need it to do: collect electronic signatures, send reminders for said signatures.

Cons

It can be clunky - and it's a little pricy for a small nonprofit. I also wish there was a way to upload one document and allow it to go out to multiple people at once, rather than having to send them out individually.

HelloSign allows my business to thrive and my clients to access contracts easily

Pros

This software has wonderful security features and is extremely easy to use. It allows me to quickly get potential clients contracts, while creating both spaces for my signature and theirs. I like that it allows me to choose how many signers there are and that I can quickly choose the necessary fields (date, signature, initials, etc.). I really like how it sends me reminders of my amount of outstanding contracts. This makes it easier to follow up and ensure that all parties have received the document. All of our clients, regardless of tech skills, have been able to use HelloSign.

Cons

I do not like that after a two week period or so, potential clients cannot access the document. It should allow you to choose how long the document is valid for, so that you do not need to resend the document after a certain amount of time.

A Game Changer for our growing preschool.

It is pretty easy to navigate and User Friendly. It works for our needs in this small, but quickly growing preschool. We found it at just the right time and it has taken us to the next level with paperwork collection. We have saved a TON of time and it has cut down on the headache of having to wait to receive hand-written documents from parents in the nick of time before school begins. We are way ahead of schedule.

Pros

I love that it is easy to manipulate and edit documents after the template has been created. Within seconds I can send multiple reminders and amended information to our students' Parents.

Cons

We had a difficult time getting to a person for help with some features and we would have had to upgrade to find out how to do some things. We simply can't afford that and don't need all the added features. It would be nice if Technical Support was available for all levels of customers. I simply wanted to know if I could send the same template at once to multiple recipients and I still don't know that answer.

I used HelloSign especially during the pandemic when schools were closed. This allowed me to maintain compliance with legal documents. The only downside is that I can only process one document at a time.

Pros

I love that this tracks signatures, reminds signers and is easy to use.

Cons

As a teacher, this is a pricey investment but ultimately, it saves me time so that means, in the long run, I am saving money.

we are able to utilize an electronic signature, saving a significant amount of travel and time.

Pros

we are able to send lease/contracts/documents to our new tenants/workers/colleagues, electronically. we are able to store a template and not recreate our lease every time we need to utilize it.

Cons

we are unable to change the document once it has been sent. we are unable to change how many signers to a template. CUSTOMER SERVICE is foreign and NOT organized. nor easy to communicate with - NO LIVE interaction - only email available & apparently they are located on the opposite side of the earth from my timezone. VERY FRUSTRATING

Invaluable Product

We used a different product for a while that was inferior and we felt was much harder to use. Absolutely no problem with using HelloSign for our online document signing program. We have legally binding documents without the extra public traffic in our offices.

Pros

Our office is a Property Management Company, managing over 400 privately-owned rental properties. We first started using HelloSign during the early days of the Pandemic. Our office was shut down for a month at the beginning of the Pandemic. We opened back up to employees, but not the public, a month later. We were closed to the public for at least 6 months. HelloSign was invaluable to us during that time. We were able to still do our job for our owners using HelloSign to get signatures on new leases, renewals and additional required paperwork from both Tenants and Owners. Without it we would not have been able to conduct our business. Even though we are fully open for business now, we still use it for renewals so tenants don't have to make the trip to our office to renew their leases.

Cons

I cannot really think of anything I don't like about HelloSign. It is extremely easy to use and our customers seem to find it easy to use as well.

Saved us during the pandemic

Dropbox transformed the way we operated during the pandemic. It allowed us to integrate the system into our protocols, keep our clients safe, and still operated business as usual.

Pros

The ease of creating templates and documents for signing streamlined our intake process and cut down the initial time required by staff.

Cons

I would like to see a better notification system, i.e., a system where the user can develop the timeline for reminding signers of outstanding documents. Additionally, the ability to mass delete signed documents would be extremely helpful.

Solid E-Sig Platform!

Overall, Hellosign has really made an impact on our offer letter process. We are now able to send and receive letters in a fast and efficient manner. As mentioned, any document you send over for signature, you can view when a person sees it so there is no need for additional follow up with the potential receiver on whether they received the document or not. It has truly helped me save time and candidates who receive our offer letter through hellosign, are able to sign easily without any complications.

Pros

I love how easy hellosign makes it to obtain electronic signatures on any document. You can easily drag and drop any document or can manually upload the docs. As a user, I'm able to upload a document and assign signature fields easily. An added benefit is that you get a notification when someone views your document as well as a notification when it has been signed. Depending on your settings, you can...

Cons

The maincon that I see with this platform is the lack of signature options. I wish there were more styles available. Also, when you upload multiple documents, it can take awhile to load. I am not sure if it was just my computer being slow but this has happened on a few occasions.

Dropbox sign - Feel free to reach out. I am glad to help in anyway. As it is, using Dropbox sign is probably the least favorite part of my job. I hope you can create a better experience for users.

Pros

It allows people to sign. The user designations work well.

Cons

You can't edit templates without creating a new templateYou can't create pretty visuals Its hard to collect payment after signing Its not easy to see a single dashboard with the summery information you need for each contract. It lacks very basic features that would streamline the process. Practically no integration with hubspot. They say their is integration but the integration is essentially a link that directs to you their website.

We've also been saving paper as we no longer have to print the documentation for it to be signed. It's ecofriendly as it is saving time and resources.

Pros

The platform is easy to use for all parties involved. We're able to see if and when the documentation has been viewed or signed. At the same time, the documentation is available to be accessed and signed anywhere at any time on any device, without it having to be printed.

Cons

Nothing at all! The platform is straightforward enough for anyone to navigate.

Pros

We love the pricing, the fact that it is extremely user friendly, secure, ESIGN compliant.

Cons

We do not like the way bulk send is set up. Bulk send would be extremely useful for us but we need to see the individual documents listed under documents to ensure a smooth workflow. We also would like if there were repeat fillable boxes in addition to name, email, etc. for example, our documents require DOB and SSN and other fields to be repeated and the applicant has to input it manually every time

Pros

Initially (several years ago) the user experience of this software was better than most, back when Docusign was the only game in town. We chose HelloSign based on that. Today that's no longer the case and there are many products with a better overall UI and user experience (UX), like PandaDoc.

Cons

The product support for HelloSign is absolutely the worst of any SaaS (cloud-based) document signing product available today. I'm not sure if it's the result of DropBox acquiring them and trying to save money, or what but if you have the option to choose a solution like this go with PandaDoc or even Docusign.

HelloSign Review- Used Daily

We have to have contracts signed in order to do our day to day processes so having the ability to sent them through this system, and be able to afford to do so, makes the process a 1,000 times faster and has increased our production and minimizes the redos we have had.

Pros

We were using a different product prior to switching over to HelloSign but that one got way too expensive. When we found this product it was exactly the same processes and detail only at a rate that us as a company could afford. We loved this so much we even brought another of our friends over to the product as well!

Cons

It would be nice it we could resend documents to customers through the mobile app, that would give me the ability to literally work from anywhere at any time but it is still better than anything else we reviewed or looked at purchasing

Great product. Beats the competition in price and useability

Very similar to the more pricer versions out there.

Cons

I wish you can delete parts of pages once the document is uploaded. Also, making the drag and drop a bit easier.

Thanks for sharing your feedback Abraham! While you can't delete parts of documents you can change out documents when editing the signature request or add new ones entirely.

Customer Care Team need some work.

The benefit of hellosign is that it does what it should on a basic level. In regards to price increase and level of service it really needs to work on this to justify its increase.

Pros

I like the ease of the software but some basic features need to be really considered.

Cons

Customer care team, In the instance of an emergency you can wait over 48 hours which is not ideal when you are using the product daily. The team also just seem to say I have escalated the problem via email. It is very frustrating considering prices have gone up in 1 year by over $200 and the care team just seem not care/try to solve the issues. We have had an ongoing issue since April that is not resolved. Feature wise it is a shame that Hellosign haven't added (considering they have put their prices up so high) to amend documents that have been signed by 1 party and not the other.

Revolutionized our sign off practices

HelloSign is absolutely instrumental for my team (business development). We execute a number of agreements on a daily/weekly basis, and HelloSign makes the process absolutely seamless. It is 100% worth the cost.

Pros

I entered the workforce 10 years ago. The company I worked at was a heavy deal and sign off company, and I was constantly running around the office with a manila folder and a pen to get signatures from everyone I needed. If I lost my document before getting the 10 signatures I needed, I would have to start all over from the bottom of the chain. If HelloSign existed when I was an assistant, I would...

Cons

There is nothing that I don't like about this software. I'm struggling to think of something that frustrates me -- ah. Here's one: sometimes, when you upload a contract and there's not enough height on the lines, it's difficult to create signing fields that don't overlap. But, to be fair, that's a problem that can be fixed with us.
