Expense apps for Android can turn your phone from a lump of plastic into a servile personal secretary to help you keep up with everything you spend as you go about your business. Or rather, your business’ business.

Only the most sadistic among us enjoy filling in expenses, which is why it’s great to have an app at hand that can help you record and process your expenses with the minimum of fuss.

You’ll see a lot of free expense apps for Android on the Google Play store. Most of the top ones are delivered as part of a cloud-based expense management software. This generally means that you don’t pay to download the app, but you can only use it if you take out a monthly subscription to the web software. Luckily, prices are normally pretty low (they can even be free for single-users), and many of these expense management solutions offer free trials and freemium options.

To help you choose the right Android expense app for you or your business, we’ve studied GetApp’s Category Leader ranking of expense management software to unearth the products with the best mobile support, and cross-referenced these with user ratings in the Google Play store.
