The sales process and incentives were great.

Pros

We love the integration aspects with payment processors and the management functionality over several locations. The information available is deep and once we get to really learn the system I am sure it will have a big impact on our customer service and sales.

Cons

We jumped in to self-store and mobile at the same time and the mobile learning curve is very steep and requires a fair amount of our time.

We use the SiteLink product for both of our self storage locations and have found it to eliminate so much of the manual work which we were previously doing each month such as the receipt of credit card payments which are automatically posted to the tenant account in real time.

Pros

The online access for both our tenants and ourselves which allows us to operate our business from any location through the use of an I-Pad.

Cons

Cannot really identify a negative regarding the software...my personal preference is that the reports be printed with a larger font which would be easier for me to work with.

I was always rushing cause seems like the 1st of the month was tomorrow, that meant that I had to spend 2.5 hrs running credit cards, whether it was my day off (Sunday) credit cards had to be processed. 2 part tickets were cut and file, (don't have to do that anymore, don't have all that bulk).

Pros

The credit card process I like the most cause I have the time I needed to do other stuff, with out a maintenance man on the 1st it was awful.

Cons

Give a credit when customer has zero balance, or maybe I don't know how.

Thank you for the kind words. Sebastian is one of 6 sales people who are not "typical" sales. Sales has to know the program inside and out, not just "sell" it. Every person here worked in technical support when they first started at SiteLink. Everyone here has to know our product.

I am glad you see the faster operation and added features of Web Edition, vs the older PC-based SiteLink. Web Edition is a huge step up, not just "doing the same as PC-based SiteLink, just on the Internet."

Consider adding ACH or bank draft to eliminate credit card fees. Ask us to get started - SiteLink Merchant Services offers both ACH and credit card processing!

Finally, there are ways to give tenants credits even if they do not owe anything. Please call or email us to show how. One such method: create a new charge, apply a credit. That way, we track all liabilities and respective dates on financial reports; both on the accrual or cash basis of accounting.

The ease of use and the ability to access support at any time. We love that we are able to link other software rather easily as well

Cons

Often customers rent more space than is needed and in order to move them out of unnecessary space it would be easier to just credit their credit card for a partial amount

Thank you so much for being such a long-time client and for posting here. The situation you mentioned is common and appears in various ways.

You can always refund monies directly through SiteLink, without going to your virtual credit card terminal. You have one login for SiteLink and your virtual terminal. You can transfer one tenant's unused prepayment from one unit their other unit.

A caveat: as a financial control, SiteLink cannot allow refunding more money than is owed the customer. However, you can credit any amount for past days' rent instead of refunding those "used up" rent monies.

For you as a multi-store operator, I hope the enterprise-level, Corporate Control Center is helpful where you can work with refunds and bad debt write-offs for all of your stores together, as a group or batch.

Thank you for the review and kind words! I appreciate your comment about the credit card fee. I noticed we have not sent you a quote or discussed pricing that would reflect a $25 charge. I am not sure where you heard or read that and will reach out to clarify.

With credit card processing, fees are are both variable - based on volume, card type, etc. - and fixed.

Because we process credit cards in-house, we offer support for both software and processing under one roof. We have control over processing fees. With our SiteLink Merchant Services, we can offer tools to lower rates, speed up reconciling (we import Virtual Terminal transactions into SiteLink and put unit numbers on credit card statements, for instance).

We organize discounts in the most efficient manner in myHub and would like the opportunity to show you. You can apply multiple discounts at move-in. You have the option to transfer discounts when a tenant switches a unit. We added these granular options with the fewest clicks and fastest speed in mind.

One word about reports: sorting and filtering varies for some reports because the data is so different. Some accounting reports only make sense to run monthly; others are a must for daily viewing. We are happy to chat more about your ideas.

Ease of use makes it superior over the other POS software I've used over the last 15 years.

Pros

The ability to see and edit the payments broken down by date, the multiple reports to monitor financial and employee activity is outstanding.

The software can sometimes get buggy when reversing payments. Ledgers can get very convoluted after NSF reversals.

Cons

If you make an error in a payment and then do close of business for the day function, you can not undo the error, I wish there was a little more a grace time to make ledger adjustments.

Thank you for your comment! You can un-do a Daily Close to make adjustments if necessary. We offer a number of tools to check all payments, by type and detail, before you close. We limit changes AFTER a Daily Close to ensure reporting accuracy.

When clients tell us why they want to change payments or charges after a Close, we often find better ways to treat root causes but can always reverse the Close, of course.

After a Close, you can always add entries, reversals, NSFs and refunds.
