What is Forumbee?

Forumbee is a cloud-based community forum creation solution which allows users to create public, private, hidden, and restricted-access forums for Q&As, discussion, feedback and idea generation, knowledgebase articles, and more. Forums are ad-free, independent of social networks, and can be customized with a built-in theme or users’ own branding, logos, and message.

Key benefits of using Forumbee

  • Professionally-designed themes are built in, and users can select from these with the ability to change the color palette, or apply their own styles by adding custom CSS.

  • User activity can be monitored in real time, and moderators can control content, close discussions, remove inappropriate, duplicate, or spam posts, and more.

  • Posts can be sorted by the most views, likes, or replies, and users can also filter topics with no replies, unanswered questions, and feedback with no status.

  • Important topics, such as announcements, can be pinned to the top of the forum, and the best comments featured within a topic, with the option to label them as official responses.

  • Members can customize their profiles with an avatar, location, bio, and links, and can view the activity and community response stats for other members on their profiles.

  • The dashboard shows key community activity, including recent postings, activity charts, maps of recent visitors, trends, and more.

    Cons
It can be a little difficult to keep track of all of the users. I feel it can visually become a little cluttered and disorganized.

The largest downside to ForumBee is their unwillingness to connect on the phone.

For example, text formatting transferred from another document is not always retained. Additionally, the more our community/posts grow, the more difficult it becomes to search with accuracy.

After spending months researching and testing different forum options, ForumBee won hands down!

    Reviewed 4 years ago
    Pros

Everything. We tried multiple forum providers including Plush, Mobilize, Facebook Groups, and Vanilla Forums. All for different reasons, none of these guys were able to meet our needs. ForumBee literally has everything that we were looking for to support our 6000+ member community. We are so thankful for them, and we highly recommend them.

    Cons

The largest downside to ForumBee is their unwillingness to connect on the phone. I can appreciate the value of them doing this; however, it's been a frustration for us to not be able to develop a deeper relationship with them. We want to be a part of making ForumBee better, but it's going to be difficult when all communication is based in email.

    Only compliments

    Reviewed a year ago

We were able to set up a site that had a customised digital library, forum, member profiles, and built-in live event broadcasting within just a few weeks. Thanks a lot Forumbee!

    Pros

Thoughtful, simple and well designed, Forumbee's software is easy to use and simple to set-up and customise. Our team and the platform's users find it very intuitive. All the essential security and reporting features are also available. Many thanks to [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who helped with the design, account set-up, support, training and everything else for the project.

    Cons

There could be one or two additional features (e.g. Zoom integration) but it's better to have a simpler well-built product than some of the complex services available in the market.

    Vendor response

Hi Grigory, thank you very much for the review! We are happy to hear that you have been extremely satisfied with your experience! Your feedback on additional features you would like is very helpful and we are considering these for future product updates. We look forward to continuing to support you in the growth of your community!

    Thoughts on Forumbee

    Reviewed a year ago

This has been a very good tool for Incorta and got us a really great community site with almost no build effort on our own.

    Pros

The product is really easy to use and administer. The customer support is world class, consultative, and creative when it comes to problem solving.

    Cons

There certainly are areas of the product I wish were a bit more configurable, like showing information about posters to others, allowing for posters to carry badges or show accomplishments.

    Vendor response

Hi Daniel, thank you so much for your review and sharing your thoughts! We are thrilled to hear that Forumbee has been a good tool for your community! Thanks also for your suggestions for improvements and will share that with our product team. If there is anything else we can do to assist, please let us know. Thanks again!

The most intuitive SAAS product in our tech stack

    Reviewed a year ago

We’ve had an amazing experience with Forumbee - from the demo stage in learning about their product to the launch of this service across our entire company. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is fantastic to work with - I appreciate we’ve had the same contact the entire time making the onboarding process seamless. The service is intuitive, highly customizable and was an incredibly smooth experience to get adoption quickly across the entire company. As someone who tested multiple knowledge management systems over the course of a year and could never find something that met all our needs, Forumbee solved so many of our problems. We’ve had no issues whatsoever after deciding to move forward with them. I could not recommend them enough.

    Pros

After a year long search, we settled on Forumbee and couldn’t be happier with this decision. Whether you’re a user or admin, the user experience is incredibly intuitive. In addition to this, the service we receive is fantastic, especially from our dedicated rep [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]. She responds to every question within a matter of hours. We are a very process heavy organization and this service has been a game changer in having a central hub of documentation, giving our people the answers they need in the quickest and easiest route.

    Cons

While the customization in matching our website is great, there’s limitations in how much we can customize within an actual article like easily embedding videos.

    Vendor response

Hi Christine, we are thrilled to hear you have had a great experience with Forumbee! Thank you very much for your feedback and your kind words! We look forward to continuing to support you and your team. Thanks also for the feedback on article customization! We will follow up to assist with that.

Forumbee is amazing--and it's the customer-centric focus that makes it so!

    Reviewed a year ago

Exceptional. Forumbee has been responsive to each and every one of our queries and concerns.

    Pros

Forumbee staff members consistently go above and beyond to address our concerns and try to meet our unique needs. They have built so many customizable features for us that I'm positive other customers are not requesting. In addition to the stellar service, this software is easy to use, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully created. Loving the software you (and 400+ others) use on a regular basis is important!

    Cons

There are some text formatting challenges in the use of this product. For example, text formatting transferred from another document is not always retained. Additionally, the more our community/posts grow, the more difficult it becomes to search with accuracy. Forumbee has made improvements in these areas and continues to do so.

    Vendor response

Hi Apryl, thank you so much for your amazing review, we are truly grateful! Our team has enjoyed working with you and the Kiva team over the years and are thrilled that Forumbee has been a valuable solution for your organization. We look forward to bringing continued improvements to text formatting and search functions. Thank you for your insights and feedback!
