Overall a good and simple way for me to track job costs and employee hours. Super easy to use

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Clock in/clock out location function allows me to see who started on what job when. It takes no time to show a new employee how to use and work the app, and I can easily see employees hours and cost right when I need to

Cons

When I go to enter someone's time manually, as I enter their start time it automatically adjusts their end time and visa-versa. Not a huge issue but gets annoying

Good app but needs improvement.

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Pros -Could build labor budgets. -GPS locations. -App reminds you to clock in when you get to the job site.

Cons

-Time consuming to edit each employees hours each week. Our typical work week is 7am-3:30pm. If a guy clocks in at 6:45 we have to manually change it at the end of the week to 7am. Also their break time is 30 mins each day. Your default is 15 mins so we have to manually edit each week. -Can't build a labor budget based off the cost code rather you need to create a sub-projects. -Would be nice if it could sync with Procore so we don't have to manually enter labor each week. -Glitches ever so often.

Vendor response

Hi David, Thank you for the in depth review. We are happy you like the reminders and GPS stamps. We currently integrate with Procore. I will reach out to you directly to provide details on how our integration works. Thanks for your time, Jairo

We use busy busy to track all of our employees, hourly and salary. It helps us see real cost on jobs

Reviewed 6 years ago

We don't have paper time cards and don't have to verify every person's time.

Pros

It's easy to use for our guys and that's the most important thing for being in the field. It's fast and reliable.

Cons

The app doesn't allow our office personnel to see the amounts to be paid in the time cards. We need the ability to see our cost per job and per employee in the field.

Vendor response

Hi Derek, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy you are able to see real costs in real time. You should be able to see that information on the app in the labor activity reports. Go to reports from the main menu>>project or employee activity. Please let us know if this helps, JC

100 times better than written timecards!

Reviewed 6 years ago

LOVE it! Will never go back to hand written time-cards. Saves me so much time!

Pros

We love the busy busy uses the internet to keep track of employee's timecards, we love that we don't ever have to guess or figure out what hours are written down with terrible penmanship. We love that we can access it on the mobile phone or from the PC and use all of the fuctions from anywhere. No more adding up hours manually it does the work for you! We also love that we can tie it to a geo location, and that it reminds people to sign their timecards for payroll. What don't I love about it, would be easier to type.

Cons

I don't subscribe to all the functions so I can't say what I don't like since I haven't tried it all. There isn't really anything I don't like. I do wish it was a little cheaper to sync with Quickbooks because I would totally do it then!

Vendor response

Hi Chris, Thank you for your review. We are happy with all the things you love about our app. We hope you continue to enjoy your usage on our app. You will love us even more if you decide to connect with your Quickbooks! :) Thank you, JC

Great Service

Reviewed 6 years ago

As stated before, it gives those of us who work away from the home office, the ease of being able to clock in and out and electronically sign our time cards.

Pros

I think it's a great service, especially for those of us that work out of state or are otherwise away from our home office and can not clock in and out the old fashion way! Being able to electronically sign your time card is another valuable feature. Also, I love that I can work from home and still be able to clock in and out.

Cons

I have not found anything about this program that I don't like. As for the question about cost above, that I can't say, because I do not pay for the service, but from an employee stand point, who uses it on a daily basis I think it's great!

Vendor response

Hi Tammy, Thank you for the great review. We appreciate your feedback. We are happy you like the electronic signatures and clocking in remotely via the app. Does make things much easier. Please let us know how we can be of any service. Jairo

Time Solution

Reviewed 2 years ago

Over the years BusyBusy has improved and has brought some additional features that are useful.

Pros

BusyBusy is very easy to use and affordable. It has continued to improve over the years.

Cons

The cons are no longer cons. When we originally starting using BusyBusy the week start date didn't match our payroll period, this has been changed and is no longer a con. The only con now is, I wish there was a way to export the payroll that could just be imported to our payroll software. We have too many rules and exceptions so this is not a true con of BusyBusy.

Best time tracking service

Reviewed 2 years ago

An amazing experience. We are beyond happy that we found busy busy and it has truly made the way our office runs a lot smoother.

Pros

It is very easy to use and integrates with QuickBooks which has been a huge timesaver come payroll and billing time. It is very cost effective, employees pick up how to use it very easily and fast so not a lot of time is spent training on use of the software.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to have more codes that integrate with QuickBooks, such at vacation time or holiday pay, rather than just hourly and overtime.

I get to see where my employees clock in/out for the day. I get to generate daily work hr reports to better track our job costing. However, it is not very user friendly. It takes some exploring

Pros

That I can track my employees where they clock in/out. I can also, allow other people to add codes on their phones and view the reports of hrs daily.

Cons

that is not that user friendly to come up with reports or to add codes and see the code breakdown (reports)

Looks great, but features are lacking.

Reviewed 6 years ago

None unless you want to consider a giant headache a benefit.

Pros

The reporting is great, lacks a little but is still better than others out there. It's quicker than some others when having to adjust time as well.

Cons

1. Must refresh almost constantly because the software doesn't update like it should. 2. When changing time it must be done from reporting if doing more than one employee. When doing so, if I'm working on someone on the bottom of the list of employees, instead of remembering where I left off, it goes back to the top every time. 3. App doesn't work most of the time - if you're in a dead area, recording...

Vendor response

Easy to Train and Implement, User Friendly

Reviewed a year ago

Recording employee hours all in one place, making it easy to use. The offline capability was critical and it was easy to adopt. We even use it to track when we're out of town at different job sites for per diem purposes.

Pros

It is easy to record hours and switch between different tasks, our employees picked up on it quickly (even users who struggle with technology), and reports help us understand and improve profitability. The value that we get from the product is incredible.

Cons

It can be difficult to set up with QuickBooks.

Great Reports!

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

I love the reports this software generates! We have multiple projects going on simultaneously in multiple locations with multiple employees. This software tracks the projects each employee is on, how much time each employee spends at each project and the type of work each employee is performing while at the project site. You can generate reports for such activities as labor activity by date, cost code, equipment, employee or the project itself. The software also tracks the timecard entries for any pay-period or date range, you can print the timecards, employees can verify and sign off on their time.

Cons

Due to the lack of sensitivity of the GPS tracking, occasionally you will need to broaden the circle of your project so that your employees will receive a notice to "clock in" and "clock out," this gives your employees a little slack to clock in when they may not physically be back at the project.

Vendor response

Wow! Thanks for the nice review! We love our customers and are happy to hear that the reporting is working so well for you.

A good value for the buck

Reviewed 2 years ago

The problems we are solving involve employee hours. They can't sign in until they on site. That was our original purpose in signing up for this app. We have found other good uses such as seeing where the truck is when needed, and for me personally, I can see which employees are on the job and where they are.

Pros

I like how intuitive the program is. I like that, as the administrator, I can set the rules in the settings. I love the QuickBooks integration. It imports directly into the "Enter Time" part of QuickBooks. I like the customer support. They are quick to respond.

Cons

There are aspects of the software that I would never have noticed except via customer support like being able to sort by last name instead of first name, and payroll mapping. If I don't have everything correct, it won't import that employee hours.

Great tool for job cost accounting

Reviewed 10 months ago
Pros

Busy Busy makes it very easy to switch between jobs and labor divisions. For a busy remodeling company with several open jobs, Busy Busy is invaluable for keeping our labor costs on the right track.

Cons

Busy Busy would be even easier to use if it had a widget or was able to work via voice commands on a phone or tablet. Text reminders to punch out when leaving a jobsite would be enhanced with text reminders to sign your timecard at the end of a given pay period.

Easy navigation, I can explain how to use the app in less than five minutes to new employees.

Reviewed 6 years ago

Reporting is what I mainly use the software for.

Pros

Overall my experience with busybusy have been successful. I personally have had zero issues when it comes to the navigation and reporting while using the application. My experience with their customer service is outstanding and they will do whatever it takes to resolve the issue immediately. The overall navigation is simple and easy to use. My eleven year old knows how to use it. The cost is low comparable to other timekeeping applications.

Cons

As of today the only cons that I personally have is that it currently does not integrate with our bidding software. If this could integrate it would be the perfect software for our company.

What I mentioned on top, that it fulfills the DOT Requirements for the use of ELD Devices that reached a death line where now it is mandatory; I really wish it does the long Driver-logs for on the road too? may be it will be something you are working on and then it will be ideal? as per the price? I don't know how much you charge since i'm not the owner of company I used for .

Pros

THat it really does what the new rule of Driver Local will ask for as it applies to me as a Truck Driver Local within the 100 miles radius

Cons

it consumes your battery real fast and before you know you are out unless you inhabilitate the location. sometimes, it also don't save your entry as you did? you run the day thinking that it is tracking and at the end you find it that it still hanging on the save screen?

Vendor response

Thanks for the review. Our location services really only logs when you clock in. If you are not running your location services otherwise you will notice a change in the battery usage. This can be seen in your battery diagnostics within the app. Our recommendation is to disable the location services for other apps. -DH

Great overall! Saves us time and money in many aspects of our business.

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Eliminates the paper time cards. Saves time running payroll. Easy to job cost from reports. Easily check and verify that employees are where they are when they say they are. Customer service is great and they are always willing to help out and do it quickly.

Cons

During our slow months we go back and do an in depth review of all the jobs including labor hours and materials and it would be nice to be able to better organize archived jobs in to years completed. The more years we use it the more complicated it will get.

Vendor response

Thanks for the review. Currently in your reporting, you can view the data by a given time range. This would help you see each year broken down.

Exactly what we needed!

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Busybusy has saved me minimally an hour a day on filling out time sheets. Love that the app calculates how long someone spent at each job site within their 8 hour day especially when they work at more than one location in any given day. I also like that we can customize and require cost codes. Busybusy also makes it difficult for the crew members to be dishonest on their time sheet. This app has been far more reliable with its GPS feature than the last app we used.

Cons

I ran into a few glitches during the initial set u,p but customer service was very responsive and helpful. When importing our list of employees I used a short 4 character password and their last name for their user name. Had I known the password required 8 characters it would have saved a lot of frustration. Also in hindsight, because the user name has to be unique, I would recommend using their email address. Without the forewarning several of our employees couldn't log in. It was resolved quickly with the help of customer service. I would like to see the employees have the option to request their own time off. I as an admin am able to do that for them.

We have been using BusyBusy for the past 9 months and really like it so far. There are a few quirks

Reviewed 6 years ago

We are trying to attribute our cost of time better to our business as it relates to projects and profitability. This is a very good software and if we paid for some of the features it would even be better. Our company is pretty small (6) to warrant the need to job cost and go more feature rich than the current free offering.

Pros

Pros. You can put a lot of detail in the system about each project and break each project down into sub-projects

Cons

Lack of searchability of details in the project. I can't search for a project # as that field is not searchable as of May 2018. Other issues seem to be related to Android. Signing a time card does not work in iOS.

Thanks for the review, Mike. Glad to hear that it is helping your company make better decisions and track profitability. We will be in touch about the issues you are facing. -DH

Efficient, Simple, and Effective!

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

I like that BusyBusy's user interface is simple and has just a few buttons to choose from. The simplicity makes it easy to log hours compared to how we organized it before. Busybusy saves a ton of time for everyone and provides a place for our logging history to be stored in one place for whoever needs it on our team- from managers to accountants to priniciples. It is also easy for everyone on our team to use, even for some of us which were never used to logging hours digitally!

Cons

Sometimes the software doesn't sync up correctly between the desktop and application versions. I also wish there was a way to customize project's cost codes- meaning that I wish only specific options were available for that specific project option in order to prevent confusion when reviewing time cards. Sometimes certain projects have a 'specialty' list which might not apply to other cost codes lists.

Vendor response

Hi Paulina, thanks for taking the time to leave a review, I'm so glad you find busybusy easy to use! Thank you for the feedback about cost codes, I will reach out to get more details so we can submit that request for you! -ZL

Great reporting Accurate Timesheets Reasonable cost GPS recording for disputes on offsite work

Pros

Cons
