My overall experience with CampMinder has been A++. I became director in April, so even during the Summer I did not quite know what I was doing on CampMinder and definitely did NOT feel comfortable using it (SO thankful for my tech savvy assistant director). As soon as Summer Sessions ended I started using CampMinder daily and calling when I had questions, whether it's that I have called so much and...
What I like most about this software is the bulletin board full of information I want to see without having to navigate through different tabs. Another HUGE pro is how comfortable I feel to Call customer service/support when I do not know how to do something, they are so nice and soooo helpful.
This is not an actual con but something I need to improve for myself...There are so many settings I don't remember what to do sometimes to receive the information I am looking for.

It has been phenomenal!
Prior to CampMinder we had constant complaints from parents about our registration process. More times than not, they would end up calling us to register by phone. Our parents love the streamlined process, the features being all in one place from forms/documents to photos, and options for different payment plans. Our camp fills every year and this would not have been possible without CM. Do you have an amazing program but awful registration process? CampMinder is for you! Our Directors LOVE and rely upon the accessible and extremely helpful customer service and data-ops team. This customer service experience is simply unparalleled.
I would love to see: -More options for gender -Simply capacity limits for additional options -Better photo options

Displeased. It has taken several years to get just the beta version of adult registration despite many promises. The greatly advertised unified person record came to be years after other companies had done the same thing. After attending CampMinder Camp two years ago, I felt that the company really likes to talk about how cool and first rate they are but I've just not seen that in reality.
Customer support is incredible. Probably to the frustration of CampMinder, we very rarely use the built in ticket or community forum features because a phone call always gets the job done in minutes. CampMinder support is willing to walk me through unique reports and troubleshooting very quickly. Seasonal staff on boarding is great.
On the program side of things, the cabin assignment module is pretty clunky and many of the simple reports require too many steps to be easily taught to seasonal staff. Overall, I think that the program looks and acts like it was made 10 years ago. One of my biggest disappointments is the mobile app. It is so limited in functionality and crashes often. When it works, all it is really able to do is act as a super slow contact information database.

It's been a pleasure transitioning to Campminder . The tools available to run the admin portion of camp is outstanding. The support is prompt and they are diligent when a problems in listening and making changes.
Parent interface is outstanding. The app satisfies the parents needs to keep on top of forms while being able to view their childs progress at camp
The online help tools were lacking, however they have made great strides this year in updating the online tutorials...thank you!

Very positive. Hands on staff, always available, always there to provide additional assistance and training. It was great working with them. Seamless to integrate our stuff in and also to export.
I liked the value for your buck. I also liked the fact that it was a lead based application which allowed us to use it as a CRM. I like that it is an annual plan for a very affordable rate with unlimited users and staff with full or restricted access.
That there were some features that could not be changed or moved or deactivated. It is not yet ready to be a CRM/registration system for other programs or age groups beyond camp. I wish it was there, maybe in a few years.

We came to CampMinder a few months ago needing a big change in the way we were running our program. CampMinder has completely changed the game and my families are already loving it!
I love how this software shows me everything I want to know when registering my campers and hiring staff. I feel like I finally know what's going on at all times.

Love it, I met [sensitive content hidden] at Conference in 2008 and saw his heart and passion. The camp i was with at the time couldn't afford CM, but I kept them on my radar and was so excited to finally get on board in 2015. I am so grateful at how CM supports my suicide prevention programs - it is truly one of the greatest gifts I've received in my career. Thank you!
Generally, the customer service is top notch. I prefer to learn via voice and hands on - they excel at this and are never frustrated with my many many questions. The mass communication systems make my emails nuanced and efficient. The setup takes work, but pays off. Minus a few creative workarounds, the system is specific to my program and does more than I could do with other registration systems (I've used them all). Campminder is an extension of the magic of camp. The company values the experiences I provide to children. The annual conference, social media and customer service all reflects this. CM wants camps to succeed
My assigned rep feels distant compared to other reps I've worked with in my 9 years using CM. It's forced me to learn a lot on my own and has been frustrating at times. The overall user interface is overdue for an update. The parent facing services are difficult to use and find for them. I'd love an updated app that gives notifications to parents for payments, forms, updates and pictures

Absolutely wonderful. I've never had an "I'm struggling with" situation that wasn't solved. When I occasionally reach out with a Campminder wish, I usually get the response that they are aware of how convenient an addition to the program would be and they are already working on it.
The program is really what you make of it! Camps all run so differently that it must be nearly impossible to create something that appeals to so many. Not only have they managed to do that, but are constantly working on upgrades to the system and educating their customers on different aspects of the program we could be taking advantage of. I attended "Campminder Camp" this year where they held classes on things not all camps are aware they offer as well as individual meetings with our reps, and round table style discussions asking us what we would like to see in the future.
The scheduling is difficult, but every scheduling program for camps is difficult.

Fantastic. As I said above, the tool is flexible and the interface is easy to use. And, if the solution isn't obvious, then the phenomenal support team is ready and willing to help.
Campminder reporting is outstanding. The ability to create custom fields, forms, AND easily report is fantastic. We serve approximately 1500 youth in 15+ programs over 10 weeks, including traditional camp, on site wilderness programs, and off site adventure backpacking and paddling trips. We also run 6 session of family camp. We also offered tiered pricing options. That's a LOT of data - and we can do it all with Campminder. And, if we hit a bump - the Campminder support team is phenomenal.
I wish there were a better way to archive items that we no longer use. In the 9 seasons we've used Campminder, we've learned a lot, our programs have evolved, and we've tweaked a number of processes. We don't want to erase the history, but it would be great if we didn't have to sort through lengthy lists with dozens of outdated items to ctrl+click select the 8-10 that are relevant this season.

I LOVE this software. I am much more efficient completing reports and managing all camper/family information, forms and communications. I can send hundreds of invoices or charge hundreds of credit cards with the touch of a single button!! It used to take me a month with our old software.
I love the ease of use -its user friendly, I can find what I need to find -where I expect to find it. If at any time I need help I can call a real person -who speaks English -and they will be able to help me AT THAT TIME!!!
Remembering to click exactly what I what -each little box I need, is sometimes a hassle. I have to pay close attention, otherwise the reports I create may not be accurate. Although I can tell right away if I didn't click all the boxes -the results show immediately.

CampMinder has revolutionized the way we manage camper paperwork, check in and check out procedures, and health care at camp. Using CM has allowed me as the director more time to interact with campers and less time spent in the office.
CampMinder is very easy to use if you are even remotely tech savvy. I love the instructional videos and the articles to help you understand how to set up the system. Tracking a person's history with our camp programs is awesome, allowing us to maintain years of records at our fingertips. Reporting is straight forward and time efficient. I like the bulletin features and being able to tag other colleagues and communicate in a way that directly links to a person's profile page.
It does not meet all our needs as an organization. We need a way to manage property reservations outside of summer and were told that was platform was being added to CM. We have yet to see it and therefore need to pay for yet another software platform. The customer-facing side, CampInTouch, is clunky compared to other companies and the ability for camps to customize what customers see is limited. Our most common questions revolve around camper guardians being unable to find information packets on CampInTouch, in part because they blend in with camper paperwork. It seems like CM was designed more for large east coast style camps where the campers stay for several weeks. There are far less useful features for those of us who have one-week sessions.

As the Executive Director of a non-profit summer camp and retreat center, I am constantly pulling up data from one of our camper families or donor families (i.e. last time they were here, what programs do they attend or which services they purchase. We have used Campminder as for our registration software for about 10 years now. It is reliable and provides me with the relevant information I need....
If we could improve one thing about CampMinder: we really wish it would integrate with Zapier to further streamline our marketing and social media efforts.

The software is very easy to use and each summer when I get seasonal help, there isn't an issue with someone learning it at all. Customer service is great. Have been waiting for the groups/family module since 2011 though when we first signed on with CampMinder. The company has become very popular and the number of camps using the software now leads to LOTS of requests for updates and changes so it sometimes takes a long time to see a change because everyone wants the same info but in a slightly different way or more detailed, etc. Still I am very happy with CampMinder.
The ability to basically create almost any report that we need. In comparison to the last software product that we used this is miles ahead. The customer service is awesome. Everyone is helpful and professional, friendly and they make sure that they get an answer for you. Have been with them since 2011.
We do run into issues at the end of the season with trying to find out exactly what funds we brought in. Simpler way to see exactly what money you took in as a total without running all the charges, credits, discounts, etc. Also waiting for the groups and family module to be available and hope that it will be separate from the camping side.

Overall, CampMinder has changed the way we manage our clients, our staff applicants, and the way we market to new leads. We're pleased with our experiences with this company, and we hope that anyone looking for a switch will take a look at CampMinder to see if it fits their needs.
We absolutely love the user-friendliness, ability to document notes and run reports, ability to filter custom results as needed. The customer support really sets this company apart. The team make every interaction a positive one. It's also exciting to know that when you have an idea or a "wish-list" for CampMinder, they truly listen to their customers to help provide solutions when they're able. The training videos make for easy onboarding for our new employees, and we look forward to utilizing CampMinder for years to come.
We wish there was a better way for tracking our conversion via Analytics, since enrollment is fully supported through CampMinder. We also would love ways to filter out previous' years records quickly and easily. We also wish mobile-friendliness was a bit better.

CampMinder is so intuitive to navigate ! Everything that you need is readily available on this platform to make management of campers, staff, and all of the information that goes with camp life very easy. What I like most is how all of a camper's account is on one screen and you have access to so much information quickly.
When you do find something that might be missing or needed, you can put in a ticket and CampMinder will address your specific needs. They are available to listening to our organizational issues and always working to make changes that will support.

This software is easy for admin use and provides excellent customer service for when you are stuck or just need help. Parents say its easy to use and it provides lots of features like medical, billing, photos, and communication that are essential to making sure our camp runs smoothly.

Having so many parts of our business under one software means that we have a comprehensive understanding of every camper and staff member at our fingertips, which makes it easier to personalize our service and respond to individual needs. Easy reporting means that we spend less staff time on licensing and certification compliance, which is incredibly important.
Campminder is an all-around tool for our camp, allowing us to track campers as individuals and as part of their families; manage their medical, dietary, and logistics needs; track payments and communications; and also do the same with staff. Any time we have needed assistance, Customer Support has been fantastic, giving us thoughtful and efficient advice and making sure our needs are met. Campminder saves us a lot of time.
I am pretty sure there are a lot of features that we don't make use of yet, but I just saw that there is training being offered to help camps figure out all the ways the software can help, which one of us will attend.

CampMinder's reports, user interface, and features allow me to save so much time and increase my accuracy and efficiency compared to other camp software systems.
Easy to use, clear layout. Enrollment and Financial reports are easy to create. Our new, young staff are able to learn how to use it quickly. The customer support is amazing. Families are clearly linked together and I am able to look at one page and have all the information I need about a camper. CampMinder's tags and customer fields have made it possible for me to keep track of and report on campers from special groups or who are receiving scholarships so efficiently. I am saving so much time by making the software work for me.
CampMinder was created and developed for a typical summer camp. This means they are still developing a system that can accommodate some of the more complex sessions we offer.

We’re definitely solving the big problem of data management and Registration and Billing, but again the special-needs program that we run requires us to work with kids 18 and older so this is been extremely clunky inside CampMinder and we’ve considered switching away because of that
Ease-of-use, feature-rich, straightforward, inviting and engaging
For our special needs camp program and as much is half of our campers are 18 and older in your system forces us to create duplicate copies of their enrollment accounts in order to basically create a false age under 18 in order to keep them returning year to year, which more than 50% of our campers do and have done for 10+ years on average some camper still coming back for 20+ or 30+ years, I would highly encourage an upgrade for special-needs users in order to accommodate for higher age ranges than 18 years old, that doesn’t seem to be too difficult to do.

The campminder software is easy to use and is super comprehensive. There are also a large amount of videos and articles to help with navigating any unfamiliar aspects of the software. The customer service team are quick to access and very responsive to questions. Campminder is always adding options and improving their software based on customer feedback and I feel like it has been able to grow to accommodate our needs through the years.
I would like for the email system to make it easier to make really nice looking emails like newsletters. As it is I feel like it is a bit clunky and requires some knowledge of code to make a newsletter and it seems like it defeats the purpose to have to use an outside service to export your datebase just to send newsletters.

CampMinder support is amazing. Any time I've ever called to ask questions, the staff are knowledgable and friendly. Even if they can't help me do the exact thing I want to do, they give me alternatives that are just as effective.
I like the overall organization and setup of CampMinder. I also think that most features are very flexible and allow you to personalize the options as much as you want. Running reports is specific and adaptable so that you can get the exact information you want each time.
There is definitely a learning curve. Some of the features are not able to be personalized, which really hinders the reports features. For example, running reports on activities/electives preferences only gives you a specific set of information to sort by. I also think there could be improvements with the scheduling feature.

We've been with CampMinder since their beginning and find that their employees are very helpful and quick to respond to needs (when you call). Software is very comprehensive, even if it takes a bit of a learning curve, with the exception of bookkeeping. It is very customizable for accounts receivable and performs well as a whole.
Very functionally powerful, with many applications for camping businesses - with the exception of booking keeping.
lack of bookkeeping interface with software like Quickbooks, could use improvements in user friendliness

We like having all our information in one place and now that they are working to back things up for us as well, so that if servers do go offline we aren't at a standstill.
Campminder has all of our registrar, finances, donor relations, photos, camp families communications and historical data all in one place. I can't imagine trying to juggle more than one database of information for each of these business needs. I like that CampMinder is continually improving and adding functionality.
We find that we only hear from the CampMinder team when there is an issue. It would be awesome to hear from our account manager more often and to have them let us know more directly when new functionality rolls out that may help us out.
