Shoeboxed saved me from drowning in paper receipts and has made preparing my taxes sooo much easier and much more efficient and my record keeping is now more accurate.
shoeboxed is a simple and effective way to organize receipts. Setting up custom categories is a breeze.
sometimes dates or amounts are wrong, so I have to double check for accuracy. B/c I have a lot of rcpts, this can be time consuming, if I don't keep on top of it, but it's a small price to pay for how organized my rcpts now are. Reporting business expenses on my taxes is so much simpler and much more accurate now.

Makes filing my taxes so much easier. Because someone else is scanning in my reicepts and I can set rules to auto assign the reciept to a catagory I have to only spend about 5-10 minutes a day on reciepts where I used to spend a solid week at the end of the year dealing with reciepts and I would dread it every year. Now come tax time I am usually caught up with all the reciepts and it goes so much faster. Shoeboxed has very accurate data entry and I rarely have to make corrections. I just enter my own "notes" on each reciept, double check it for accuracy and file it - so convenient. I couldn't reccomend it enough.
Shoeboxed makes my life so much simpler. As a self employed person scanning in my own reciepts was the one thing I dreaded every year. I tried other software and it all had major issues. When I found Shoeboxed it has literally saved my sanity every year come tax time.
There are few features I wish it had like archiving previous years receipts so that I didn't have to chance the search parameters every time I was working within a current tax year, or having roll over pages becasue sometimes I miss sending reciepts in one month and I paid for that month but didn't use it, but overall, I only have good things to say.

I am tech challenged and self employed - a horrible combination. This program makes it SO easy to track receipts right down to the exact tax category. No more hours digging thru receipts (lol often in an ACTUAL shoebox) Even if this is not your primary method of receipt tracking, any one who needs to track receipts would be nuts not to keep this on their phone!
I wish I could magically program it not to put my manicure receipts in as tax deductible. Lol not sure that will fly.

Ease of use for tracking my miles.
The interface is not cluttered and is clean which makes navigation a breeze. App does exactly what I need it do. I am a pet sitter and I use the app to track my mileage when visiting my clients.
When saving a trip under the mileage tracker it can be slow at times to log the trip so I'm sitting there waiting to verify the trip was properly saved. Once in a great while it might not save the trip at all so it would be amazing if I could enter a trip manually.

storage and search capability
Scans and reads multiple receipts at once via ScanSnap. Categorizes based on credit card number (though not always accurately).
Needs 1) ability to import directly into Quickbooks Desktop, and 2) needs more robust reporting tools. Can't save and reuse reports based on various search criteria.

I enjoy how easy it is to send the receipts off and have them returned. I like how easy it is to search for the receipts you have sent in. Customer service is always very helpful and I appreciate that you have a live chat option I like the new feature of being able to update the types of payments
I struggle with the restrictions of the receipts that can be sent it. When I email a pdf across and I look for that receipt in the system, the receipt will just be blank and shows nothing. I also sometimes forward email receipts and get an email back saying it's invalid but the receipt has been processed. I would like for the system to work with more databases other than Quickbooks. We would love for it to work with Autotask for instance and it would save a huge step and much time for us.

It's free and super simple. The way you enter info and can export it under different headings and the tracking of receipts is a real time saver.
The receipts don't load up on the app and there was a glitch with the mileage tracking in the first month or two of the year.

Receipt archiving is my main focus but the quickbooks intergration is also a fantastic feature.
Easy to find receipts with the search feature. I know my receipts are safe and archived. Intergration with quickbooks is fantastic.
EXPENSIVE. Very expensive. Also sometimes take 24 hours for uploaded receipts to be scanned. I wish you could choose your default view between what has and has not been exported.

It helps me sleep easy knowing that all my receipts are stored so that I may access and categorize them when I have spare time. A good side activity to TV watching. I wish that it was a bit simpler to enter the information about the purchase/receipt right when I take the picture of the receipt. Sometimes this presents as an option, but rarely.
I like that I can save a picture of my receipt before I leave the store. The system is simple. The free membership, leaves a lot of work, but is still helpful.
1. It would be nice if i didn't have to tell it to got to camera (instead of library) every time. 2. Rarely the page to enter the info right when I take the picture appears. Usually it just gives an opportunity to make a note, which isn't helpful. I'd like to open the app, take a pic, and enter the data. All right away.

I like that Shoeboxed allows me to send them both paper and digital receipts. The categorization is pretty spot on and you can set up rules for common expenses.
I wish Shoeboxed integrated with more bookkeeping platforms and had more triggers on Zapier. The categorization could use more refinement.

I love how easy it is to snap a picture of the receipt on my phone app and then I don't have I keep up with a paper trail! I always lost receipts before.
I've found sometimes I have to reset my app because it has a glitch that makes my old receipts not show up. They're still on the computer version, I'm not sure why this happens.

The fact that there are multiple ways to input receipts (upload, email, envelopes, etc). I also appreciate that you can set rules to make it more efficient as you go.
I think that pricing should be streamlined and expanded. I go over my limit several times per year and the overage charges are intense but upgrading fully doesn't make sense for my business either.

Time saver, easy categorizathonen of emails, easy retrieval of receipts later when needed.
Shoeboxed provides me with an easy way to automatically categorize, save and retrieve important emailed receipts. This saves me a great deal of time.
I have not really found many cons, although sometimes Shoeboxed will misread & mislabel an email as a receipt when its really not, but this is only a very minor inconvenience.

Simple use, no more piles of paper around my office.
I don't have to do the data entry and organization. This is done for you. You just set up the categories.
It grabs items from your email that are NOT purchases and then you have to clean those out of your account.

Their proprietary magic envelope system is very, easy to use and incorporate into your routine w/r/t any paper that needs to be captured.
Search functionality inside website is very limited. They should consider adding Google custom search functionality or partnering with a service like Findo.

Ease of use, better and more accurate books, more consistent writeoffs. From the app, it is fast and easy.
It makes tracking receipts simple. Saves me a ton of headache in managing the financials of my businesses. Managing the paper version of everything is tedious and difficult if you are on the road as much as I am.
Sometimes the camera auto opens when the appleads, I take a pic, and then the pic does not save. This is the only issue that frustrates me with the app. If this was fixed, my review would be perfect.

Much easier time keeping track of receipts.
Ease of use. It's really convenient to keep an envelope in a car to collect receipts on the go and to mail in once a week once a new envelope arrives. I really like this feature and it has allowed us to save all our receipts!
I wish it automatically matched with my QuickBooks banking. Right now we use quckbooks independently of shoeboxed as it will double enter the same transactions and not automatically match them. This is unfortunate!

I found Shoeboxed a few years ago, and had never thought about a "receipt organization service", but what they do is truly "magic": I just send them my receipts, bills and all sorts of documents and they, within just like a day, scan everything and upload it to my mobile app and online account - I always have my receipts at my fingertips now, and all of that without any work required on my part. I love this service so much!
I don't have any complaints really. Maybe.. their support hours? Their support is amazing, first of all, but I had times where I couldn't reach them via phone when I wanted to run a report etc.

Great & useful!
I love Fetch! We integrated it into our office last year & it has been a great addition! Our employees find it sinple & efficient to submit receipts, etc for reimbursement & I find it very well designed.
We initially had a bit of difficulty getting everyone in sync with the ststem. Some employees use Apple devices & some use Android devices. Once we took the time to focus on company wide training, it was a breeze.

Receipt storage, less printing, email forwarding receipts
I like that I can forward receipts to an email, I like that it pulls the info from the receipt and that I can search for info to pull up relevant receipts
I don't like that I always need to switch accounts when I sign it, I don't get why I have an account in my name and I have to switch to the business one (I purchased it for business). The info taken from receipt images are not always correct and makes it hard to find and reconcile. Also don't like that it doesn't account well for different currencies, we are a Canadian company but deal with many currencies.

Receipts can be viewed, downloaded, and printed. Filters are really useful and make searching for receipts quick and easy
Lots of mistakes such as typos. Vendors can be entered multiple times due to poor spelling and typos. I have to manually edit receipts in order to get the vendor names consistent. I suggest those doing the data entry look at previous receipts or have an auto-fill feature so that vendors aren't entered multiple times. Non-receipts are entered as receipts by automatic email link. For example my dinner reservation was entered as a receipt. Order confirmations were entered as receipts also which resulted in a single purchase being entered multiple times into my account. Mobile app is useful but doesn't support long receipts. I suggest allowing multiple pictures to support long receipt like other mobile apps do
