When mandatory e-prescriptions were instituted, I thought that I would need to affiliate with a group, or purchase a very expensive system. Kareo provided the first step, and is now fully integrated.

Pros
It was very easy to install. The support community returns requests for help promptly. For the price, there does not seem to be any better option.

Cons
Occasionally, when an upgrade is in process, there can be a slow down.

Pros
I had never done billing before. Our PT clinic wanted to keep the billing in house so we tried Kareo. Of course I didn't have anything to compare too, but Kareo was easy to understand and the Kaero support was the best.

Cons
The price per therapist went up - with our reimbursement from insurance companies going down, we need to lower our cost

I've been using Kareo for about 4 months now with my mental health practice. It is a great value given the price compared to others and is easy to use and user-friendly. I use the billing, scheduling, and marketing modules. I do not currently use the EMR module.

Pros
Price, ease of use, and ability to access the fundamental features from both PC and Apple products including tables.

Cons
Periodically appointments on my schedules will disappear after the patient has been "checked out". Also, there are problems when you switch back and forth between the PC application and the web-based functions. Lastly, customer service has not yet fixed these errors, despite me emailing and calling for months.

I have used numerous Practice Management programs over many years and I switched to Kareo after using a served based program. I love that I can log on from anywhere and that my clients can, too. Kareo is a month to month and no contract basis software that is easy on my wallet. I can literally teach someone to use the program in a day plus they have training videos for free.for refreshers. This program makes my job easier to do. What more can I ask?

Pros
Cloud based Easy and quick set up Very intuitive Easy Integration with numerous EMR programs Code scrubbing Free Upgrades! All the bells and whistles at a much more affordable price than other programs.

I have had to use other EHR, PM systems like AdvancedMD and Onco billing and Kareo is by far much more simple and easy to use and functtionality, and the cost is way less for a better system that everyone in the office can use efficiently and effectively.

Pros
Kareo is one of the first EHR and practice management system that is easy and simplified to learn for anyone no matter your computer experience. The cost for the EHR and PM is definitely much cheaper than most other systems out there! I learned a lot of the billing operations by watching their interactive webinars that is also simplified for easy learning!

Cons
The least I like about Kareo is probably the process of doing an adjustment or any changes once an account has money posted to it, I had to contact customer service to get assistance.

We selected Kareo because it has both our front office and EHR requirements, plus we have access to backup billing services if we ever find that they are needed.

Pros
Our favorite features were the ease of getting up and running, the training modules and strat up support as well as the low entry price - we could be up and functioning virtually paper-free on Day 1 of the new clinic.

Cons
Had a glitch with our Railroad MC approval through the electronic claims assistance department, but overall the systems and the technical support have been nearly faultless over our three years.

Pros
I love the to-do list on the software's landing page (Practice Home). The software is incredibly user-friendly and easy to navigate. Customer service is great, and the training is comprehensive. I also love the success coaching.

Cons
I honestly have nothing truly negative to say about it. If I had to say anything, it would be the cost. It would be wonderful if the PM/Billing part was a bit cheaper for someone who is freelancing and paying for it themselves (as opposed to a provider paying for it).

Disappointed, will be switching as soon as my contract is up (or sooner if I am losing patients)! Bottom line is if you are a new, small practice like me, do lots of research and try demos- learn from my experience!

Pros
It was very easy to setup and get started. I was comfortable with the price / value initially. I liked that the telemedicine was connected to the EHR - but soon opted out of using the telemed feature due to problems.

Cons
Workflow is inefficient for my practice and customizations are very limited. Patients found it difficult to use and I could not customize anything to address patient concerns. Tech support is quick to reply that they are working on your case but slow to actually solve anything- I have support problems in “triage” or pending for weeks without results or fixes. Most of my “how do I” questions were answered with “we can’t do that with this system.”

You have to enter the payers, their addresses, and all the info for the entire billing infrastructure as well as the particular patient's info. Then, it fails and you need to be watching each particular claim to find out if there was rejections or if the money isn't flowing. Is thousands of dollars lost worth a low price?

seemlessly integrates with Practice Fusion. There is no up front cost. really the positives are hard to write

Didn't send claims to medical assistance then when finally getting through to them they said : 1) it was my 99213 code ; then 2) medicare did it and 3) everyone else but them

I think Kareo is a great deal for the price!

Pros
As a biller, Kareo is such an intuitive software that when I first started using it I was able to figure out how to do most things without even watching the tutorials. When I did need help learning how to do something the tutorials were very helpful. I find posting payments very easy and clean. It is easy to see when a payment was made and where the payment came from. I also love how easy it is to send patient statements through Kareo's mailing service. I used to carefully print each statement and mail it with a personal note, but I have found that patients are much quicker to pay when they get the Kareo bill. Our front desk is beginning to use Kareo, and the other day as I showed one of them one of the things Kareo makes so easy, tracking authorizations, she turned to me and said, "I'm beginning to love Kareo as much as you do!"

Cons
Getting help with technical difficulties can be time consuming if you don't pay for the extra support. Once you get a chance to chat with the rep they are always polite and helpful.

Low cost practice management and FREE medical record. Cloud based so I don't need to have a server. Wonderful online training overall. Very good initial support.

Cons
Many difficulties for me - it requires a microsoft operating system for the practice management component; getting set up for electronic payment and ERA has been very slow; the billing system is not very intuitive to me; note writing is cumbersome although I am not sure how other programs work so cannot compare; the database for finding drug stores is finicky.

I am generally satisfied, as I do not think another program at my price point would offer the features and flexibility I was seeking. This program has its quirks, but is very functional. Once I am more familiar with the program, I may feel even more favorably about it.

Pros
Flexible software which combines free-text with templates, allowing for a more individualized progress note. Cost effective for a solo-practitioner, with the required features of scheduling, billing, EHR, electronic prescribing (including controlled substances), and Patient Portal. Customer support for migration from other systems and coaching for success has been plentiful and quite helpful.

Cons
Documentation does require a lot of mouse clicks. The billing component is not particularly intuitive and also requires multiple steps to accomplish what should be fairly simple. Scheduling also has many mouse clicks and is more complex than it should be. The billing platform and the EHR are not the same, and they do not always synchronize with each other, leading to duplicate work.

Pros
Kareo called me at my scheduled time to explain their product and inquire about my needs. The customer service representative listened to me and what I needed for my practice rather than trying to sell me something. They have an affordable program for small practices. I like that you are assigned a mentor who will walk you through step by step how to set up your software, enter patients and claims. They also will take care of getting the paperwork submitted with the insurance agency in order to submit the billing through their clearinghouse.

Cons
That there is not a low rate plan for those who only submit 10 to 12 claims per month.

Bait and switch. Difficult to use. Doesn’t remember any of your templates. The billing portion drove my staff crazy. Terrible support
