No EMR is perfect. Praxis has been beyond responsive to our requests for improvements. They are driven by the users and creating the best experience possible. It has been refreshing to have a software company listen to our concerns as opposed to telling what we want.

It took me three years to find them, and had it not been for the Coronavirus pandemic forcing me to search high and low for an ideal EMR, I would have stayed with paper charts and dictations (I hate EMRs, every one except Praxis)

It would be unrealistic to say there are no cons. However, the benefits of using Praxis every day with my patients far outweigh any drawbacks. The whole concept of EMRs leaves a lot to be desired, but Praxis makes that bitter pill much much easier to swallow.

I have been in practice for the last 27 years and Praxis is my 4th EMR and so far the best one. Praxis is very affordable which is very important for smaller practices. Starting from an implementation to training, Praxis team was exceptional. Having a designated contact person was very helpful during the first few months to help resolve any unexpected issues in a timely manner. Learning curve with Praxis is much gentler and easier compared to other EMRs. Praxis allows you to document the way your mind thinks and practice the way you once dreamed about. Praxis will allow you to provide quality care and meet all necessary guidelines which will result in better reimbursement over time.

Lack of its own faxing solution and hope that Praxis will have its own integrated faxing solution in future

Unlike other EMRs that I have used, including a 45 million dollar hospital version, Praxis is designed for doctors to be able to express their thoughts to one another ( and to leave meaningful notes for themselves) using their own verbage in an efficient way. The system bills itself as being template-free; it is, in fact, free of pre-packaged templates but allows the user to create his/her own templates which, almost magically, become more and more refined with continued use. Rather than restricting the user to drop-downs created by someone else ( who may not be or think like a physician), Praxis encourages the user to express him/herself personally, creating documents that ultimately say just what the user intended to say.

Praxis has a Concept Processor model that allows you to make your own template for problems thereby reminding me to order the appropriate tests for a specific problem. EHR's are never fast enough, but Praxis does a good job in keeping up with me. I am sure every EHR user feels the same way.

The one page chart, just like paper chart. No need to open boxes or write in different area. One page access to all patients current issues. Best customer service ever. I have been with Praxis for over 12 years and had my brother and my friends also get the software because it is easy to use, affordable and take care of the job. That I can add remove things from "template" at my will, I don't have to wait for IT to help with me.

It comes blank, so you have to make your own "templates', but I prefer this because I could set it up that was I use it and not anyone else's template.

I have used this product since I opened my practice in 2003. I have not changed as it is easy to use, and fast relative to other EMR systems that I have used at other clinics and hospitals. Speed is the key and I don't care for simple cut and paste notes at all. This is the best as you can make your notes a little faster every single day.

I didn't rate the pricing because I have no idea what that is at now. Praxis has been very good to me over the years since I purchased it as a resident just before starting my practice, so this is not a negative review, I simply don't have that information. However, the technical support is always timely and the program itself is powerful which is a money-saver.

Praxis is good value for the money and it's all in the cloud, so no server required. The way it works. Highlighting and de-highlighting concepts instead of typing or picking through standardized texts. It saves lots of time and you can customize it in any way you want to each specific patient.

Your mind does not think in a template system. Before templates, before words, your mind has a concept. This concept is related to the diagnosis and then expressed in words. The heart of Praxis is a concept processor and this links your mind to Praxis. Physicians are all not trained the same way; therefore, they can have different concepts of the same diagnosis. In Praxis, this concept continues to evolve as medicine changes.

All EMRs have to conform to all the continuous and sometimes ridiculous changes made by government regulations. The founder and CEO of Praxis is an MD, Dr. Richard Low. The evolution is MD-directed, with physicians as beta testers in their clinics and not designed by a computer nerd. These government regulations have hindered the physician evolution of Praxis serving the government bureaucracy rather than the physician.

The program was devised by a practicing physician. Praxis is not template-driven. You create the record that you want. It is adaptable to any practice. I have used it for general surgery, medical oncology, primary care, and addiction medicine. It is very affordable. Support is responsive and knowledgeable. The vendor offers the option of being cloud-based.

I wish I had bought it earlier! I use a program that utilizes a Microsoft Database. Oracle and Microsoft don't coexist well on the same server.

The thing I like best about Praxis is its cost and support. I also like that it is not template-based, and I was able to set it up like I practice medicine, not like some bean counter in softwareland thinks I should practice medicine!

It can be difficult to understand at times. Also, you need to spend a lot of time up front to get it set up the way you want it but that pays off down the road.

I have been a user of Praxis for 15 years. The support has always been very prompt and reliable. The program is very flexible and the developers have been very responsive to the users' ideas and suggestions.

They have good support. I can customize it myself and don't need to call support to do most things. Interfacing is free. We've attested for MU two years so far.
