When I used the mailer to send a test message to board members, the feedback I received was that the email address made the message appear to be spam so they didn't read it.

Overall, it was an ok experience. We would have dealt with some of the idiosyncrasies if we didn't find another alternative that matched our organization better. I have friends in the industry who swear by LGL. 

A good product, just not excellent at any one thing

Does its job, making mine easier

Our organization moved from Excel to Little Green Light and we used LGL for several years. However, we quickly outgrew it. It was ok in the beginning when we weren't generating a lot of income and didn't need to run many reports. However, the more we grew, the more LGL did not work for us and we ended up switching to something else.

Quickly Outgrew LGL

We used Excel before to track memberships and their renewal payments.  Membership records are apart from the treasurer's job.  LGL lets us both be team members and we both see the same data.  No more emailing when a payment is received.

The best Donor Management option for small non-profits

Great experience. We moved from tracking gifts on a Google Sheet, where you couldn't easily see a donor's big picture commitment to the organization.

Little Green Light Helps Little Non-Profits

We used to have our constituents' contact info, contact report info, and giving data scattered across a motley collection of manually- and inconsistently-updated platforms, and none of it was integrated with Constant Contact or our email. It was extremely difficult to search for constituents or financial gifts or tag them in any useful way. All truly meaningful information was stored in our team members' heads, where it could be lost track of, and this was having a negative impact on our fundraising. LGL has enabled us to pull our many disparate forms of data into a single platform, unify them within each constituent's record, start sending out automated acknowledgements for donations, stay in close communication with each other about each constituent, and overall just improve our ability to provide a high-quality experience for our constituents when we reach out to them.

A great CRM platform for nonprofits

Not enough accolades to define our experience with LGL. It has solved hours of previous individual copy and paste of information, and ease of correspondence templates and reporting! Again, we couldn't be happier with any program!

Follow up after 2 years of using LGL

-Send auto-acknowledgments
The entire dev team can now work from the same set of data--increasing our transparency with each and improve succession of responsibilities.

Satisifed Customer

Customer service is critical - especially to small non profits who don't have a support team. A quality CRM is like another employee, it has to work FOR the organization, not be a hinderance with complexity. LGL is the perfect CRM for small shops - and larger shops too!

I've been a fundraiser for 25+ years, primarily with very large organizations (raising $100 million+ annually), and had an opportunity to use a range of nonprofit databases, including home-grown systems and some of the best-known products from large companies.  I've been through database conversions on large scales (50+ users, 25,000+ records), and advocated for and managed budgets as a member of the management team. I chose Little Green Light (LGL) after researching options for a small nonprofit where I'm the executive director. (5000 records, 3-5 database users, $350k annual budget)

GREAT donor database with top-shelf features for small budgets

Little green light has allowed our company to expand our donor base & keep Better detailed information all in one location. It has been well worth the small investment to purchase this product. It more than exceeds its value. 

We took twenty years worth  of excel spreadsheets with the names of donors, prospects, event invitees and attendees and consolidated them all into LGL.  At long last we have a robust and dynamic system that has helped us learn more about our donorbase and their giving trends.  This has been invaluable for our current fundraising efforts and future projections.  Not to mention the time we have saved managing our donors and development efforts.  

LGL has taken us to a new level of operational maturity.

LGL facilitates the business-critical task of entering, tracking, and acknowledging gifts. It aids in segmenting donor groups and making 'touches' throughout the year as appropriate to each group.                                                        Before Little Green Light, we had an Excel spreadsheet, which is a really unprofessional way to keep donor data. So there was no way to track movement or to add comments in a sensible way.
                                                       We chose Little Green Light because it is one of the most affordable CRMs on the market. And a lot of nonprofits had recommended the program to us to use.
                                                       Transferring data from a spreadsheet to a CRM is always a little challenging, but once we got the data into Little Green Light, it wasn't terribly difficult to learn. And I found the customer support really helpful.
                                                       If you are considering Little Green Light, my recommendation's to you are to use the integrations to the fullest, so that may include Constant Contact or Stripe. Having those third-party applications connected to your database will make your life a lot easier.

Simple And Effective Software For Our  Small-Midsize NonProfit

                                                       Before Little Green Light we really managed a lot of our donor database in Excel and one other piece of software called [inaudible 00:00:16]. [inaudible 00:00:16] was expensive and really difficult to navigate. As an organization we couldn't figure out how to run basic functions in that software. So we switched over to Little Green Light when we realized first of all we were spending more than we needed to, second of all the software that we were using just wasn't working for us. 
                                                       One of the main reasons that we chose Little Green Light was the price point. For a small non-profit like us with a donor database that isn't huge, it would be around 1,000 participants, it was the best price model and allowed us to really bump up if that was something we wanted to do, or stay at the level we were at. Also the ease of use was very clear from our original demos with the software, so we knew that this would be something that would function well for us. It would be easy to train some of our board members and committee members on how to use as well. 
                                                       When we first got started Little Green Light was easy because there was only one user and that was me. The development committee of our board of directors has since logged in and we have a number of people using it, kind of we worked together on that. But the onboarding was very easy; there was tutorials that I found, easy to access, easy to understand. It was also easy for me to learn on the platform itself. They walk you through pretty much every function that you need to use in terms of donor reports and research on your own database. So I found it to be easy to use from the standpoint of someone who's not overly technical and didn't have a background with that kind of software before. 
                                                       So my recommendation for someone who's in the non-profit industry looking for this kind of software is certainly check your options but recognize that Little Green Light is adaptive to smaller organizations. They specialize in creating an option for organizations that are getting up and running, but also staying with them as they grow. And that's something that I value immensely. This is not a software that I know I'm going to have to use for a few years and then upgrade to something else. This is software I understand how to use and it can grow with me and my business. I really appreciate that and would welcome others to think about that when they're evaluating this kind of software.
