Pros

Easy to run reports for department or service technician.

Cons

Tech support is great, but usually had to call and wait for a return call. Sometimes in the service industry those few minutes/hours can cost a lot of money.

Workforce management made that easy!

Overall, software is awesome I have wonderful experience and the software helped our company a lot of effective workforce management.

Pros

What I like about the software is that aside from the fact that this is a scheduler, employees are being notified of the schedule/task update real time. Useful to us that is starting to expand our company that majority of our employees are in the field and no time to get back to the office for schedule check.

Cons

In my experience I can't see any problem, probably the interface make it a little bit alive.

Smart Service a Great Dispatch option for Small Business

This program makes invoicing a snap, and provides a variety of great reports to review customer data

Cons

There are some limitations in regards to ongoing jobs. The software is best used for small businesses that have small one day jobs with one dispatch.

We also wanted a program that had a good dispatching feature. Over all we would rate the performance of Smart Service for our specific industry at 7 out of 10.

Pros

Scheduling feature, making estimates, SQL database, reports can be very helpful if you know how to get the data you want.

Cons

Error messages, non 24/7 support, Cancelling a job does not delete the future schedule dates - you have to manually delete them, reports can be very tricky and hard to figure out.

Smart Service for HVAC-R Application

The scheduling is very simple and the different views (time stamp, location, etc) are helpful in keeping track of our technicians and communicating to customers.

Pros

The ability to upload and store images of customers equipment has been invaluable for insurance claims and warranty coverage and keeping track of model and serial numbers.

Great Dashboard for dispatcher.

The only viable suggestion was to lock down all the smart phones with a 3rd party mobile management software which would prevent our techs from receiving and sending troubleshooting documentation.

I value Smart Serve!

I worked with the owner and general manager to choose the program that would help us bring everything together for our employees and customers. We wanted a way to smarter not harder. We found it and it is Smart Serve. I also am pleased with the training available and also the tech support has been great!

My experience using Smart Service has been wonderful, costumer service is always listening to real world scenarios and using those to improve the software.

The features it offers for the field staff are great, it allows for tracking real time and also be able to generate pay role.

Cons

i would advice that a manual for this program can help increase the rate at which users understand every feature in the software, so that field users can quickly learn how to use the software.

Detailed notes, fast invoicing, awesome correspondence records between the customer and our company and ability to email and text through the software encourages success and keeps our company fresh and current.

Pros

It has cut our billing time by hours.Thrilled to be able to include our service notes from SS on our QB invoices.

Cons

A lot of data entry is required to get the software like you want it.

Love the integration with QuickBooks

The transition from the old dispatch program was ok but not great but I don't feel that was Smart Service's issue as much as it was a planning issue within our company. A detailed migration plan should have been written out and discussed in advance so that everything could be addressed. I suggest Smart Service take that lead as many companies just don't understand the devil in the details until it is too late.

Pros

I love that it integrates with QuickBooks in real time. There are pros and cons to seeing every work order in QB but that also allows us to easily see how many times we have been to a customers house.

Cons

I would like the schedule board to act as a calendar too - the default search info isn't what i need but Smart Service can change the defaults - we just haven't it yet - I need to be able to schedule meetings/days off/ appts that are not service calls - in a manner that will allow them to be seen on the schedule without requiring that they be "Completed" 'cause then they disappear.....

Our guys are paid in a really strange way - that made the transition a bit more difficult - also, none of our service agreements were brought over but we had about 30,000 customers in QB.....that is a bit daunting. We also have never had a good inventory system set up and the migration to SS should have been done at the same time we set up proper inventory - That wasn't SS's issue that was our companies fault - SS is great - we just haven't utilized it to its full capacity.

Having a paper trail is very useful.

Pros

If a person takes the time to learn it the scheduler can be your new best friend.

Cons

Since Smart Service makes a new, unique job in Quick Books every single time you make a job, it makes more sense to have QB in single user mode all the time so a job can be deleted if necessary but my employer uses QB in his office to do his bids and the invoicing so it can be a pain in the neck.

Be cautious about what Smart Service "can" do for you as some of their cool sounding features are add ons to the basic program. With the correct and willing compliance and field workers that care about whether their employer makes money or not, this could be a God-send to some companies. It is just the same as any other computer program. GIGO Garbage In, Garbage Out. The ONE field guy who admits he is computer illiterate was the leader in using the iPads and Smart Service, the photographs, he immediately saw the possibilities and became our Champion.

Saves time, and increases office and tech efficiency

Pros

IFleet not only updates in real time it also tracks where the technicians are, so if someone is "goofing off" you can spot it easier.

Cons

There are a few additional features that I would like. I.e. bar code scanning to ensure that the actual job was completed (most of my business is at recurring sites)
