Pros

Great Dashboard for dispatcher.

Cons

The only viable suggestion was to lock down all the smart phones with a 3rd party mobile management software which would prevent our techs from receiving and sending troubleshooting documentation.

Ability to invoice easily without keeping track of paperwork.

Pros

Easy to run reports for department or service technician.

Cons

Tech support is great, but usually had to call and wait for a return call. Sometimes in the service industry those few minutes/hours can cost a lot of money.

We also wanted a program that had a good dispatching feature. Over all we would rate the performance of Smart Service for our specific industry at 7 out of 10.

Pros

Scheduling feature, making estimates, SQL database, reports can be very helpful if you know how to get the data you want.

Cons

Error messages, non 24/7 support, Cancelling a job does not delete the future schedule dates - you have to manually delete them, reports can be very tricky and hard to figure out.

Having a paper trail is very useful.

Pros

Being able to schedule the field guys is fantastic.

Cons

Since Smart Service makes a new, unique job in Quick Books every single time you make a job, it makes more sense to have QB in single user mode all the time so a job can be deleted if necessary but my employer uses QB in his office to do his bids and the invoicing so it can be a pain in the neck.

Be cautious about what Smart Service "can" do for you as some of their cool sounding features are add ons to the basic program. With the correct and willing compliance and field workers that care about whether their employer makes money or not, this could be a God-send to some companies. It is just the same as any other computer program. GIGO Garbage In, Garbage Out. The ONE field guy who admits he is computer illiterate was the leader in using the iPads and Smart Service, the photographs, he immediately saw the possibilities and became our Champion.

Detailed notes, fast invoicing, awesome correspondence records between the customer and our company and ability to email and text through the software encourages success and keeps our company fresh and current.

Pros

It has cut our billing time by hours.Thrilled to be able to include our service notes from SS on our QB invoices. SS is quick to resolve any issues and are constantly improving on the software to make things more detailed and efficient.

Cons

A lot of data entry is required to get the software like you want it.

Everything is organized for me, makes taking, tracking calls a breeze!

Pros

For instance, pulling reports by customer location; if I want to view which customers live in South San Francisco I can easily create filters to do so.

Cons

Also, tracking technicians does not seem to work 100%.

My experience using Smart Service has been wonderful, costumer service is always listening to real world scenarios and using those to improve the software.

The features it offers for the field staff are great, it allows for tracking real time and also be able to generate pay role.

Cons

i would advice that a manual for this program can help increase the rate at which users understand every feature in the software, so that field users can quickly learn how to use the software.

More importantly, I know that I would get quick support response with any questions, training, or upgrades. I would definitely recommend Smart Service for any small business, especially those that work with Quick Books for their accounting needs.

I value Smart Serve!

I worked with the owner and general manager to choose the program that would help us bring everything together for our employees and customers. We wanted a way to smarter not harder. We found it and it is Smart Serve. I also am pleased with the training available and also the tech support has been great!

Our chimney sweep and repair business has been using this software for almost 10 years and it has helped us tremendously to track so many jobs, customers, estimates and prospects.

Pros

What I like most about this software are the easy to understand interface screens and help available to make entry and maintenance a breeze.

Cons

I'm still learning the software, but so far I have not been able to see a way to change mass records with an import feature.

We have been using Smart Service with the IFleet portion for our technicians in the field for about 4 years now.

Pros

For the most part our technicians have been easily trained on the process and it has cut down on a lot of their processing time in the field.

Cons

We have several labor descriptions for our business and the work tickets can be set up correctly for the type of labor on a service call, the information transfers to the invoice in QB correctly, but defaults to ONE labor description on the time cards.

Some of them have been used and some are just too custom to our line of business for a change to be made on the part of Smart Service.
