Thanks for leaving the review! Just a quick note- Our Computer Backup software is one not intended to run on network drives or NAS devices, we have B2 Cloud Storage for those use cases. Why? Our Computer Backup service is one of the few remaining unlimited services around. By being truly unlimited, we had to draw some lines around what backing up a `computer¿ means (within the context of unlimited). So that might explain some of their haplenges you had backing up your NAS.

Expensive and slow

We are sorry for your experience and would like to address your concerns. Backblaze has only raised the price of B2 Cloud Storage once, on Oct 3, 2023. We've purposely tried to make our pricing simple: no complicated tiers, rate variances by region, or minimum file size and minimum storage duration requirements. Our customers enjoy flexible, scalable storage at $6/TB/month, plus all customers enjoy free monthly egress up to 3x the data stored. As for performance, we have achieved upload speeds 10-30% faster than AWS S3 for small file uploads (1MB or less, which makes up 70% of all uploads to B2 Cloud Storage and are common for backup and archive workflows) all without any change to durability, availability, or pricing. Please let us know if this continues to be an issue and we're happy to help troubleshoot.

Backblaze is great for small teams or companies, is offers unlimited space, easy to set up "beginners" backup and the fact that a license is for only one machine doesn't trouble if you are in a small team. Best cost-effective for small companies.

My experience with Backblaze has been great!  They allow you to immediately begin downloading files you need from anywhere!  If the number of files that you need to download is so large that time is a factor, they will send you your files via an external hard-drive.  Computers crash...  I can't ever imagine being without this service.  There is nothing more important than the peace of mind it brings!

I got tired of the regular price increases of the cloud backup solution that I had been using for years and in my research Backblaze came highly recommended, the price was right so I decided to do a trial.  I have a lot of files so the initial backup took a long time but by adjusting the settings to use more bandwidth while I slept, the backup completed in a fraction of the projected time.

So far it has done a great job at backup up new files within hours thus giving me peace of mind.  I haven't had the need to do a full restore yet (knock on wood) but I did conduct a test restore before the end of my trial, I had to go to the website to do so and it's not as instant as my old solution but it worked well.  I like that in the event of a catastrophic hard drive failure I have the option to have a drive shipped to me.  

The software has been running on autopilot since I signed up and I am saving money.

I love the set it and forget it the style that Backblaze uses for remotely securing all my files. While other backup software makes you pick and choose what's worth saving, Backblaze just goes for it and backs up everything (you can opt out if something's too sensitive or scandalous, I think) so that you don't have to spend forever setting options. Then it just regularly backs up my files without me having to think about it, so that if I ever lose my laptop or it is lost in a fire or something else horrible, my business files, records, family photos, etc, those are all safe. Peace of mind for a cheap price.

                                                       Before I started using Backblaze, I was using CrashPlan, which was okay, but eventually transitioned to doing commercial backups only and didn't really fit the needs of just me and my household.
                                                       I chose Backblaze mostly because Wirecutter of the New York Times told me to, and they were absolutely right. Backblaze is fairly inexpensive for the kinds of backup services it provides. It's intuitive. It does things quickly. And I've never had a problem with it.
                                                       Getting started with Backblaze was really easy. The hardest part was just having to wait to get everything uploaded. And after that, it's been a piece of cake.
                                                       If you were considering getting Backblaze, I'd highly recommend getting enough licenses for all the devices in your house. I think it's an affordable thing to do that makes sure all of your data's protected. Another thing to take a look at is whether you need the advanced version control. Someone like me, who does not have lots of kind of data that relies on that precise level of backup, doesn't make sense for me. But if you are one of those people, Backblaze has competitive prices on that kind of granular backup.

Before I started using Backblaze, I was manually backing up to external hard drives. Or, I was using Apple's Time Machine. I wanted to have a second cloud-based option. Sort of set it and forget it. And that's what that place has done for me.
                                                       The main reason that I selected Backblaze is because it was simple. And it appeared to be quite straightforward and integrated into the OS, so that I just felt like it was confidently backing up in the background. And I didn't need to think about it. The other reason was that it itself throttles in that I know it's backing up my computer, but I never notice it. It's never slowing down my computer, Whereas the Time Machine and the manual backups are interrupting my use of the computer.
                                                       Integrating Backblaze into my business was very easy. It's very much install, configure and forget about it. There was a small extension that you have to allow the Backblaze software to have a route access to your drive. That's very easy and straightforward to set up. And yeah, so it's really a snap to install and use. And one time I did a restore, and that was also a snap to go back and be able to access the backup data. There, had been occasions where other people ... I recommended Backblaze to other people. And they told me, "Oh, I don't need it because I have Time Machine" or, "I can backup to a hard drive." But the reason why it's important to me to have Backblaze as my backup software is for redundancy.
                                                       So yes, I still use the Apple Time Machine. But what if I have a problem with that backup, right? Or yes, I still use cloud services, but what if something happened to the cloud service that is unforeseeable? So a business, for continuity, you need to have a redundant backup. And that means you must have three backups. And Backblaze provides me that additional redundancy. So I never have to worry. I just never worry about not being able to restore software because I know that I have a redundant system, and Backblaze is providing that for me for years.
