Customer Service is Slow if you have Billing Questions

Reviewed a year ago

I've realized cost savings with Curve but they still have some kinks to work out. If you aren't from the USA, definitely keep an eye on your billing and make sure you aren't being billed in US dollars and CALL IN new credit card numbers.

Pros

Cost is reasonable which was a big one for me, setup is easy and it's easy for staff to learn how to use Curve.

Cons

It's impossible to reach the billing department. If you call (and it's not a product demo or purchase) you get directed to leave a voicemail and in my experience I didn't get a response for 24 hours (but suddenly did after saying I'd be writing about my experience on social media). If you update your credit card online, you are automatically charged in US dollars. Apparently, Canadians are supposed...

Great software on the cloud

Reviewed 2 years ago

This software has been simple and reliable and allowed me to not have an expensive IT team on retainer.

Pros

This is an easy to learn, user friendly software. My staff and I have all adapted quickly to using it.

Cons

We wish there was better communication during outages. When server was down we had little information to go on and had no idea when to expect it to function again.

Very pleased I made the transition to modern cloud-based Curve from my old industry standard softwar

Reviewed 2 years ago

Simply excellent.

Pros

Support and training is top notch, period. They answer every single time and have a ticket system in the software for non-urgent issues, questions, or suggestions. Why don't more do this? Also really like their claims management which is included and the price for the features is reasonable and less than what I was paying to cobble together the same types of features with my old "#1 industry leading...

Cons

The Clinical notes are reasonable and you can make templates, however, I wish you were able to make more flexible response based templates. A minor issue.

Preventing the 50K Mistake

Reviewed 8 years ago

Each computer in the office is independent and isolated. They're "off the shelf" units and were purchased from Dell at extraordinarily reasonable amounts. No server, no contracted computer geek, no surprises. Most importantly, no added monthly maintenance fees. The support from Curve has been fabulous. What's the worst that can happen? Well, the system has gone down.....wow....we kept doing dentistry....

Pros

Ease of integration and ease of use

Cons

Inability to access the actual product from my mobile devices. I want to be able to interact with the entire product from my mobile devices(iPad, iPhone)

Vendor response

A thousand thank-you's for your kind review, Dr. Lurie! We've noted your suggestions. Many of our customers see a savings in IT and HW costs, as you have. Best wishes!

Best option for Cloud practice management

Reviewed 4 years ago

Really good experience with the software. Price is higher than it should be but it is more convenient in the cloud. If it could connect with Dental Intel, I would put it in all my offices.

Pros

Easy to use. Familiar feel. No need for a server for PMS and x-rays.

Cons

No option for CBCT backup. Can't be used together with Dental Intel. Default reports sometimes convoluted although you can make custom reports.

Good software, but Beware the dishonest billing practices

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

The software itself is great. The billing practices and management are sketchy....

Cons

I like curve, and the representatives I've talked to through implementation and occasional tech support have always been helpful and friendly. The big however came this year when Curve decided to increase the amount they charge me mid-contract with ~3 wks notice. The terms of my auto renewing yearly contract require me to give Curve a lengthy non-renewal notice in advance of the anniversary date...

So far behind the Curve compared to other dental management platforms.

Pros

Cloud based. That is it.

Cons

Customer service is horrendous. Can't load fee guides on time and make no effort to do so despite multiple requests well in advance. Constantly placated by staff that offer no solutions. Year after year the fee guides are not loaded on time. Staff could care less. Expensive for lack of functionality and having to manually input your fees because Curve doesn't care to meet deadlines. Smooth and easy transition from Old School Practice Management Software.

Reviewed 7 years ago

Cost, Efficiency, usability.

Pros

This is a complete solution to meet all Practice Management needs which is great but as this software is a cloud solution it is just like your Facebook account, Instagram, email etc, it is alway available right there where you need it and it works as it should but in a modern, more efficient way. It's quite intuitive and it is always trying to help you to achieve your goal. We've yet to encounter...

Cons

The Kiosk facility where Patients can can fill out their forms directly into Curve is good but you can see they are still building it out.

Vendor response

Thanks for the 5-star review! The benefits of a cloud-based management system, as you point out, far exceed the idea of keeping a server in your practice. Many thanks for your kind review and best wishes!

Cons

Costly when doing add ons...feels a little “nickel and dime” style. This isn’t a cheap product, but not many other industries (used daily, with cloud back-up, charge near this rate. Conceptually cool, extremely poor performance!

Reviewed 10 years ago
Pros

It's conceptually cool. Their customer support is responsive, and the software is cloud-based.

Cons

It doesn't live up the hype. The cloud-based software has stopped working 2-3 times since going live in less than a year. The acquisition of digital X-rays is non-diagnostic. The import of images from old chart software to curve is tedious. Image magnification is limited. Treatment plan implementation is tedious. If you want to give multiple treatment plans, each plan data has to be re-entered, which...

Vendor response

We have recently discovered that the imaging challenges described by this client seem to be limited to Kodak sensors. Curve Dental has an outstanding track record for reliability, innovation, and customer service, backed by more than 3,000 dental professionals managing the oral health records of more than 3,000,000 patients every day. In fact, a customer satisfaction survey conducted in May 2014 indicated 73% of all Curve Dental customers were likely to recommend the software to a colleague. Regardless, at Curve Dental every customer counts. We have taken careful note of this client's feedback and compared it to our current development plan. We will be giving this client a call to discuss further.

Overall positive anxious for more updates related to billing / word process / portal enhancements

Reviewed 7 years ago

Cost savings no server to upkeep

Pros

Ease of charting and upload and organization of templates for images. Accounting breakdown of invoices. Patient portal and ability to send new patient paperwork is fantastic and saves so much time at appointment.

Cons

Insurance profile is too limiting as well as the word processing options in Curve. The capability to send statements needs to be reworked, need direct access to account from A/R reports with capability to send letters add account notes etc. tracking of statements and account out reach needs to be all in one area.

Vendor response

Thank you, Jill, for your kind review! We think our online forms are pretty awesome, too. We took careful note of your comments on billing as we are looking toward a face lift of sorts in that area. We may reach out to you in the future for clarification. Best wishes to you and your entire team at Stonecastle Dentistry!

Overall we are satisfied with the service. Doesn’t appear our suggestions are taken seriously. We would like to have a program that meets all our needs. Thank you.

Pros

Very user friendly, good price, customer service.

Cons

Hi, Dr. Rolfe! Thank you for the positive review. We are aware of the need for some practices to see pocket depths of 5mm or more appear in red. Sorry to hear that you're still stuck to a server for imaging reasons. If you've not looked at our native imaging features for quite some time, please do. Best wishes!

Curve Review

started in May 2018. I am not the most tech savvy person but I picked up on Curve very quickly. I have been very satisfied overall with its ease of use. I can custom tailor the business reports to my specifications, which comes in handy.

Pros

Ease of use, intuitive nature, clean design, support is good for the most part.

Cons

R-copia, found out that I was deactivated without my knowledge. Cost me 1/2 hour of my time (and paid staff while nothing was getting done).

Be Cautious

Reviewed 2 years ago

I would be cautious if you don't have a bunch of dental background and the billing could cause you to lose patients like it has for us. We took over the office and it had not run correctly so we inherited the billing mess. Curve was not able to help us decipher what had been entered or why. So ultimately we were not pleased with the software.

Pros

The ability to see on the cloud and have multiple locations was really an amazing software. Ease of clicking and customizing everything was great. Customer service was amazing and they always answered.

Cons

Cost was very high and they charged for everything on top of the monthly fee if you needed to add a Dr. to the practice and have an extra user there was a cost. This software seemed like a baby in comparison with other dental software and was advanced technically (cloud and clicking to customize was very modern) but not when it came to how it needed to be used in the managemnet prospective and reports it seemed to lack development. Billing was so confusing with the invoice options and was impossible to give a a good quote and collect correctly.
