Pros and cons

We were excited to find all of the assets as part of EveryAction that would allow us to engage with our donors, advocates, pet passionate people and pet parents in a very different way.
But, I've been impressed with the quality of customer service, availability and commitment of the EA team to getting it right. As of now - I'd absolutely suggest exploring their tools and their team.
We're excited about the development of automations and would love to see an option to include steps like texting or removing activist codes as well based on meeting search criteria.
Their responses to our questions were ambiguous, unhelpful and mostly petty. If I could, I would blast how horrible EA is to everyone I know.
No graphics, so display can be somewhat intimidating.
Account model is limited = orgs vs. people vs. businesses. Campaign and event hierarchy and construct is confusing.

EveryAction, a catalyst to advocacy and organising campaign for non-profit.

Reviewed a year ago

My organisation have been able solve the following existential problems within the non-profit sector using EveryAction. 1. Out reach to mass audience, we have expanded our reach a quadruple times than how we started over ten years ago. 2. Donation management, we can fundraise and manage those funds almost seamlessly. 3. Time management, with our virtual space events, time has been swiftly managed and by extension, we have saved money. My overall experience with this tool has been very excellent.

Pros

The following features are golden pots of EA, 1. Reporting and Data Analysis This section of the tool is one of the excellent thing that has been done so far. My team do not require so much complex data science skills to understand the dynamics behind the datasets in EveryAction. The graphs are punchy and easy to understand. Their presentation formats render them very useful to various stakeholders within my organisation. 2. The Administrative menu This section is encompassing especially for the kind of jobs we have on our plate. Our organising team have been gratefully harnessing its simplicity and ease of use.

Cons

The integration part of this tool has not been great from our end. We are yet to harness it full potentials. We actually looking at ways of integrating our financial solution within our finance unit to this tool. Secondly, the text messaging aspect has not being actively working as expected.

Intuitive UX makes this CRM one of the best

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

EveryAction has put a lot of thought into the layout and making it easy for users to do everything from creating emails to producing reports. The new drag and drop email feature is a game changer.

Cons

The committee structure which allows organization to create subaccounts can be a little clunky and integrations with Salesforce has gotten better but was not easy to implement.

Not Intuitive

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

EveryAction is unique because it combines donor management, volunteer management, and a CRM into one tool.

Cons

The software is very difficult to navigate and the training doesn't prepare users to successfully utilize it. We didn't have a dedicated account manager, and the only support we received was through email with a response time of over 2 weeks.

Vendor response

Thank you for your open and honest feedback - we value our customer's opinions and take them seriously. Please reach out to training@everyaction.com so we can help remedy the situation - they are awaiting your outreach!

Easy to use at first, and immense power and flexibility when you get into it. Also great performance

Reviewed 5 years ago

It's a powerful engagement platform The ActionTag online form system works great out of the box, and is fairly easy to customize if you want to fine-tune your user interfaces and flows User management is made really easy with some powerful tools like quick role comparison and impersonation It's blue

Pros

The performance! Views load fast. Reports update fast. Contacts and user records save automatically for 80% of the attributes you update. And the "Create a List" interface is so performant that I use it just to answer idle questions about the constitution of our database (which is not small). I've used Salesforce a fair amount with a similar sized database; often running reports, you would enter in all the parameters, run it, and then go make a sandwich. Five minutes later, maybe it had run. I never even THINK about how long something will take to run anymore. It's great.

Cons

Growing pains. EveryAction already does a lot, and their product team is expanding what it offers at a fine clip. As a result, features are often released with bugs and/or oversights that probably would have been caught in a more conservatively evolving platform. In a way, this is kind of a sneak Pro, because as long as you take new features with a few grains of salt, you benefit from a pretty agile development schedule. And most importantly, the bugs/oversights have always been functional; security, in my experience, has never been compromised in favor of progress.

An extensive and versatile tool!

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

We love how extensive EveryAction is. We're able to build extensive profiles for donors, volunteers, and supporters and create highly segmented lists as a result. There are so many tools to use, from reports to analytics, to phonebanks. We're excited about the development of automations and would love to see an option to include steps like texting or removing activist codes as well based on meeting search criteria. The interface is quite intuitive and easy to learn the more time you spend with it!

Cons

I wish there were ways we could better integrate with google sheets, for example when someone submits a form on EveryAction we could send the info to a google sheet (besides ticketed events) or have the capacity for us to use a tool like Zapier. It's sometimes difficult to know how we could get more in-depth advice over the phone or zoom from EveryAction. Also the add-ons get quite pricey!

A Great CRM for a Midsize Nonprofit

Reviewed a year ago

EveryAction has been a key tool in "de-silo-ing" our various departments within development - ensuring that Events, Direct Mail, Communications, Major Gifts, Grants, and Capital Campaign teams all have instant access to complete information about donors with whom multiple teams must engage. Ability to centrally track all communications and responses is especially helpful.

Pros

Has excellent auditablity, decent degree of user-implementable customization of record data. Bulk-apply features are quick, intuitive and powerful.

Cons

Dependence on email as primary indicator of uniqueness or records requires a considerable amount of de-duping, especially where many consituents/donors are engaged both via place of employment and home (and thus likely to use two different email addresses).

Raise more revenue in no time with EveryAction

Reviewed 6 months ago

Overall, EveryAction is a means to and end. The tool raises revenue to sustain democratic causes and political campaigns through Election Day and beyond. You can even group audiences based on certain characteristics, such as gender, age, household income, and party affiliation, volunteer status, and more. The administrator has complete control over the messaging and branding on the back-end, so it can be as basic or complex as you want.

Pros

I like that EveryAction allows our organization to recruit volunteers, mobilize members during key moments, and cultivate relationships with small-dollar donors in order to increase social awareness, engagement, and website traffic for liberal and progressive issues on behalf of democratic clients. I especially like that events are simply to manage in the CRM platform and campaign metrics are easy to understand for reporting purposes.

Cons

This is a technical issue, but for some reason, it is more difficult to embed EveryAction links into the body of an email, digital or social media ad soliciting revenue for a political campaign or cause compared to other software.

Our web developer recommended EveryAction to us. We are a patient advocacy organization.

Reviewed 5 years ago

Quite a few, but off the top of my head: Modernized, nice looking communications. Increased engagement with volunteers. Superior analytics.

Pros

EveryAction has modernized our communications in many ways. The most important improvement for us a nationwide advocacy organization has been the uniquely easy way that EAction helps us track and analyze our volunteer engagement. We are most excited about the event management and recruitment potential of EveryAction, and the possibility of unifying and bringing most of our digital communications under one tool.

Cons

Depending on your working and learning style,, you will either like the fact that EAction seems to constantly evaluate and/or add new/improved features, or you will probably feel unsettled by the changes. Either way, you will want to spend more time upfront watching the video tutorials or at least have a plan to ask for more training in order to understand the basic features, which remain largely unchanged. You may also want to be more proactive with seeking tech support.

Great All-in-One CRM!

Reviewed 2 years ago

I love the system and couldn’t dream of using anything else. It’s very user friendly and helps our organization collaborate between departments with ease!

Pros

My organization uses Everyaction as our CRM. They have recently made some upgrades so now we are able to house all of our fundraising, volunteer management, and digital communications in one system. They also have some cool twitter and email integrations that make it really easy to create online actions for people to take and helps us engage our volunteer base more effectively.

Cons

It can sometimes be hard to get tech support from the company.

Great tool for keeping a remote team organized

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

The bulk upload and bulk apply features are very convenient and easy to use. The interface is visually appealing and buttons/icons are clear, making it a user-friendly toll for even non-technical users. The contact matching feature works well and keeps data organized and avoids duplicate contacts.

Cons

Profiles for organizations are not very robust - no field for website and the primary contact field does not have much functionality ie. you cannot set up an email to go to the primary contacts of a select group of organizations.

EA is user friendly, built for activism, and a "work in progress".

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

At Resource Generation we appreciate how user friendly EveryAction is to navigate. Our full staff and many of our member leaders need to use the system to move their work forward, and that hasn't been possible with other systems. EveryAction also uses the language of in person and online organizing throughout its systems which is helpful from a functionality and user adoption standpoint. The values alignment also means the kinds of functions that are built prioritize justice frameworks, such as selecting preferred gender pronouns.

Cons

EveryAction is a newer database, and new functions that you might expect to already exist are being built all the time. One example is responses to online forms formerly going directly into a contact record as notes, which is now an optional function. So expect there to be some growing edges for the system. That said, the support team is good about acknowledging what is being built and communicating and mitigating the impacts for users where possible. This is primarily why I scored lower on "Features & Functionality".

Better than NationBuilder

Reviewed 5 years ago

Easy and simple creation of signup forms and donation pages, powerful email tool for our newsletter.

Pros

We switched to EveryAction from NationBuilder and absolutely love it. The user interface is sleek and modern, and its very easy to query based on dozens (hundreds?) of filters, actions taken, demographics, etc. We also use the email tool to send out our newsletter and can quickly and easily make donation & signup pages.

Cons

There's not much I don't like about EveryAction. I wish the email templates were built out a bit more, but that's really it.

Great High-End CRM

Reviewed 4 years ago

EveryAction is a great, albeit expensive, CRM that arguably justifies its costs. Its support team is reliable, helpful, and prompt. Within EveryAction, you can nearly anything you could hope for outside of peer-to-peer texting - our package includes data tracking (with an option to purchase direct voter file incorporation), list generation, click-to-action tools, donation functionalities, event tracking, and email generation, among other features. It's incredibly convenient to have a one-stop shop while managing a large public interest campaign.

Pros

An incredible amount of functionalities + tools built into one CRM; great + straightforward database; straightforward segmenting tools + email generation tools; fantastic customer service.

Cons

High price-point compared to market standard; email builder could be more sophisticated and flexible; somewhat difficult to learn + teach, relying on repetition.

Excellent tool for managing donor data for large non-prof organization

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

The implementation team was absolutely fantastic. Being able to manage multi channel donations such as direct mail and online, major donor data, grants, and reporting data all in one place is a game changer.

Cons

The variety of choices can be overwhelming, and sometimes support tickets are answered by more junior staff (so can be less accurate). Pipeline documentation is really not good, API could use significant revamp as well.

A better choice for our company

Reviewed 2 years ago

EveryAction integrates so well with other tools we use, and we know more people are receiving our communications.

Pros

EveryAction is very customizable for users, and the controls are easy to understand. Moreover, our teams fund it much more user friendly than the previous produce we used.

Cons

I don't have significant issues with this software. There is sometimes confusion with where certain comments should be added in records, but that is more of an internal issue.

I have used several CRMs and EveryAction is the most powerful and easiest to use, by far.

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

There are so many features of EveryAction that are exceptional. My favorite feature is the list builder. You can easily create a list of constituents and then run a report to access whatever data you need, all in seconds. Next, EveryAction has so many available fields - it is extremely flexible and easily accommodates your needs. Third, the support at EveryAction is fantastic - they are constantly improving the product and adding features my team suggests. Finally, I have never used a CRM that so easily allows for import and export of data.

Cons

There is a learning curve when it comes to direct mail plans and reports. However, there are very helpful tutorials on the EveryAction website to facilitate this.

Incredibly powerful and easy to use

Reviewed a year ago

In EveryAction, I primarily manage our supporter database, send mass emails, and set up Online Actions (forms like signups, ticketing pages, contribution forms, etc.). I don't manage contributions or do a lot of analytics, although I hope to get more into that latter. As someone with limited previous CRM experience, I actually find EA fun to work with. That was not at all the case with our previous platform, which was extremely unintuitive. I'm able to understand various features well enough that I'm charged with training others.

Pros

User-friendly and as intuitive as is possible, excellent support, wide functionality

Cons

The official help pages are extremely thorough, but can be hard to follow without a pretty deep understanding of the entire platform

It was such an improvement over our previous system!

Pros

I like how easily I can get in touch with EA's support. I also like how solid the various tools are - very little bugginess, which is a huge upgrade from what we used before.

Not the best CRM option for Nonprofits

Reviewed 4 years ago

Generally, I would not recommend this product, as there are many other options in the nonprofit space that also offer affordable "out of the box" solutions for CRM, online processor, and e-marketing that have smoother functionality and come with better customer service and support.

Pros

The email functionality of this software is good -- it can create nice-looking emails that are mobile responsive.

Cons

The hierarchy of how to organize, label and tag data is clunky and does not make for easy reporting on all elements desired. We have also found the customer service and support to be lacking. We find these to both be critical functions of an "out of the box" CRM for a nonprofit and these elements are far stronger in other systems.
