Using data studio in creating a business dashboard is easy. There are multiple data sources to choose from. The templates can be a guide on how to setup your dashboard.
Free Can be connected to multiple data sources Fast Can be customized to fit mobile screens Good number of graphs to choose from
The frequency of updating data is a around 30 mins apart or more. I'm not sure if this can be changed. Setting up the screen size for each page might be a little confusing at first.

Loved having the ability to add our data sources to create intelligent and aesthetically pleasing charts. 10/10!
Great job to Google's team for making this wonderful tool! Data studio is an amazing platform that helps us in terms of creating data reports that are otherwise quite difficult to create on your own when you have multiple data sources at once, this solves that problem rather efficiently. Now we just assign the source for our tables or charts into the data studio and it makes professional reports for us on the go!
Nothing to dislike as this has only helped in creating reports that are rather time consuming if you were to create them manually in excel or word

Would definitely recommend for agencies! There's a lot more that Google Data Studio can do - we haven't scratched the surface yet!
Ability to create custom reports from Google Analytics data. Ability to style/format reports as you wish - fonts/colours/graphics etc.
Can be tricky to pull in the right data at a first glance.

Overall, Google Data Studio is a great product for analysts and not only. With using that online service you can analyze, visualize, combine data from multiple different sources and also create dashboards, daily and ad hoc reports. In addition, as a rule it works much faster than many desktop applications when you are dealing with big data.
Google Data Studio can be connected with many many data sources which gives us unlimited opportunities for data analysis and visualization. There are much more visualization tools than Microsoft Excel has and if you are very confident with using Excel, I believe that next step can be studying of Google Data Studio.
It is not that easy for beginners to understand opportunities that Google Data Studio can give you. Unfortunately, Google didn't prepare any lessons or courses to learn it from zero.

Have been using data studio since 3 years and using it to get data from Google sheets, Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, Google ads for data visualization for the management.
I tried using two dimensions in data studio but wasn't able to group one dimension on the same.

You can do basically anything with Google Data Studio, visualise data that you need for your colleagues or clients, make automatic reports. Make custom dimensions and metrics and so much more. It really lets you do whatever you want to do with your data. You can import XML, CSV, through 3rd app or simply just Google Sheets!
With big data across multiple clients, the document can have a bit of a delay to load

I like being able to easily adjust the date ranges to look at how data in my PPC campaign has changed over time.
I wish there were more visual elements that could be used. It is very cut and dry, and doesn't really lend an easy opportunity for us to show data in a "pretty" way.

Data Studio is a helpful data visualization tool that allows you to pipe in data from a number of data sources and display that information in a straight forward and clean manner. This tool has helped increase transparency and communication between me and my team.
Data Studio can sometimes be slow in presenting piped in data. The UI is also clunky and not very user friendly and support (outside of a forum) is nearly non-existant.

Great tool to build dashboards and reports that are updated in realtime. This tool is free to use but the connectors to link the non google platforms have charges to use them.
We use google data studio to build our reports. Be it monthly or weekly reports, we use the chart visualisations of this tool to get better insights and enhance the presentation of the data. You can pull data from multiple resources and compile the data together to get the holistic idea of you marketing strategies and channel mix.
Integration with non google products is difficult. You may have to use third party connectors which are not free to use

If one needs some data visualisation tool for free, then I guess Google Data Studio is perfect. It provides easy and native integration with all the Google products and also a host of third party tools.
Setting up a report in Google Data Studio isn't super easy as it is on some of it's competitors. But with some time spent, it does a great job. Also, sometimes I felt it is slightly slower but then it depends on what integrations one is doing.

- You can build dashboards easily and quickly- You can integrate data of many different tools - Also non-experts can use it
- no option for notifications- especially the performance with many visualizations or large amounts of data could be better

One of the best reporting tool we have use in the company
Excellent tool, it allows you analyze any time of data and plot it into different types of widget, charts, tables, etc. It is amazing what you can do and all the options you have to do a drill down in the data shown. Dashboards can be share with all the team at any time
Nothing at the time, we have get the most of the application. Too many options can be scary but then you understand all, you can report anything you want

It is a good tool without much hassle or any installation required. Directly runs in cloud and gets your work done straight away! We use for some monthly dashboards and the usual one or two visualization requirements. Would certainly recommend for it's value for money benefit.
One of the most productive feature is the ability to link with Google sheets and its integration with the Google platform/products. The collaboration features of G-suite are also evident in Data studio. It is simple at the moment, but gets the work done for quick and small-medium projects.
The Geo-mapping is not great as compared to a tool like Tableau. The Data visualization is not completely customizable which leaves something to desire. You need a google account to work on it, so not for everyone.

The platform has helped me present reports that are more visual and easy to understand. The features offered by Data Studio bring a range of opportunities.
Allows you to fully customize your reports, so you can use a blank template or use predefined templates.
I didn't find it that easy to use, the links confusing, and despite the great features, it was hard to find myself.

We were looking for a way to visualize mobile app analytics beyond the capabilities of Firebase: when we found out about Data Studio we were able to build data views much more tailored to our needs.
An excellent data visualization layer which plays nice with data from Google Analytics and Firebase. It has several pre-made templates for broad and vertical analysis in a large range of use cases. The interface is powerful and flexible, while at the same time revealing its complexity gradually, so the learning curve is gentle.
Having pre-set metrics and templates is helpful, but it can be a bit misleading at times, when you need to build custom metrics that have similar but different meanings to the default ones.

I used Google Data Studio for about a year, and ultimately had to give up trying to perfect it.
There are many things about Data Studio I liked. I liked being able to make beautiful, fully customizable reports integrating data from multiple sources.
Issues with data syncing. Issues with metrics breaking for no reason, and difficulty fixing them. No real support options other than researching online.

Google Data Aid Studio is the best tool I've ever stumbled across. It's everything you like about Google Analytics, made better. You can literally build your own dashboard and control it by date or other filters you choose - and you can use Google Analytics as your data source. Imagine being able to filter, sort and pivot just about any Google Analytics data point. It opens up a whole new way to look at your data. You can create datasets of your own design and then look at them in a myriad of ways (charts, graphs, tables). You can add notes, create sections. It's a really powerful tool. Collaborating on reports with others is also rather easy and it's nice to be able to make real-time updates with teammates.
The one drawback is that it can get heavy and take some time for results to resolve onscreen if your report(s)/board(s) are very large.

Data Studio helps me easily present and report the sales to non-accountants. The dashboard is not intimidating in any way because the charts and indicators are neat, organized and compeletely labeled. It helps everyone participate in effective decision making because we are all on the same page.
I like most about the software is it can collect and store so much data. We are dealing with sales and each week the entries are a huge lot but Data Studio can gather them and simplify in a professional looking dashboard.
While the data is imported and updated in the dashboard real-time, sometimes the labels are not. I have to check the sheets to see which clinic this bar represents to identify whose sales they were from.
