Using Libris as our digital asset management system has been a time saver. We are able to upload and share photos in light boxes to clients. We have control over what can be seen and what is archived. Our "best of" photos can be rated with a star. Photos can be tagged so that they are easy to find. This means that the Widener community can go on and easily find the photos that they need.
We needed to find a way to keep all of our photos safe so we wouldn't lose them in a hard drive crash, flood, or fire, etc. The software does everything that we need it to do— from rating, tagging, storing, and archiving, to sharing light boxes with clients. It is also very affordable.
At first there was a glitch in the way we wanted to share our photos, but Libris' support services worked with us to overcome that problem.

We are now able to search edited images through tagged information and able to share and present images in an organized format.
Searchable tagged photos We are able to share photos quickly with internal and external partners Like being able to customize folders for particular job requests
The Libris connector really does not give our designers the easy access tools necessary for working with InDesign at a reasonable price. They are having to download the images first and use Adobe Bridge to connect. It also does not allow designers to drag and drop images when they just want to see how something might look in a quick and easy format unlike other programs.

See above :)
The ease of use and organization. We are still in the midst of setting it up, but we hope this makes searching our photos so much easier and faster for our department, partners and contributors.
As a non-profit, the cost was an initial hurdle. We are hoping the time and server space makes up for it! The amount of tagger/admin seats are limiting for us, but other than that we love it.

We are in year two of our contract and it has taken us some time to get fully on board using the software. so far, Libris has been a big help as we slowly transition all our files off an old in-house server. We have the opportunity now to review each folder and label it appropriately so we can find our assets quicker in the future.
Libris has an excellent permissions system. Each collect and gallery can be individually set to be accessible in a few different ways, and then each photo can be set to be expired or rejected.
There are three different user types: Invited, Contributors, and Library Staff. For our plan you get unlimited Invited users, which only have access to the front end portal and what you decide each user can see, which is fine. Contributors can only upload files--which is a a type we don't really use. Now the last type is called Library Staff and these users are the ones who really hold the power to edit, name, tag files, and set permissions. The problem is that you only get a small number of Library accounts and every additional seat needed is an exorbitant yearly cost on top of the plan cost

I came to Libris from a legacy DAM that became very expensive. Libris works better in many respects such as ability to deliver photos anywhere in the world without running my own web site. My clients like it but some of us luddites don't notice when a password is provided because it's at the bottom.
Super easy to upload photos from Lightroom, with keywords extracted automatically. I can control who gets which files by password or grouped user rights. I can instantly send emails to recipients with links and passwords. Even though it's cloud based it's pretty quick. Client can choose the size file they want to download.
Inability to search by "filename starts with". The search function is not intuitive in that there is only one box to search keywords and operators are required to try to refine searches. I'd like to be able to resize the visibility and access box. Users can strip the metadata when downloading.

Visual and tagged searching is great for our department, but often times we have to share a second gallery via Google Drive for off campus/non-users when it would be helpful to send temp links to external consumers once. Our designers cull lightboxes for projects and pull images one at a time, which is a hassle. There should be an option to turn on bulk downloading for registered users.
Tagging and importing is easy. Setting permissions for groups is helpful and the interface is mostly intuitive and useful. Getting our archive in front of eyeballs is easier now.
Users are unable to bulk download images. We're a unique case use in which we own all of the images we upload to our account, but still users are unable to download more than one image at a time from a lightbox. Gallery sharing doesn't always work. No option to share outside of our user base without setting up an account for them. Resorting to using a third party service to share files. Price per TB of storage isn't in line with other cloud based providers, nor is there an option to use a third party cloud provider with the interface.

I have started searchable galleries for all of our campus buildings, seasons, classes, etc. The customer services is amazing. Anytime I have emailed with a question, I get an answer within a couple of hours.
It is easy to use, and easy to customize functions. I can have galleries for public or private viewing, and easily customize who can see and download from each gallery. It is also easy to grant new users access to galleries.
The cost is higher than I would like, but it still seems to be the most comprehensive and easy to use of the photo management systems of this type.

The FTP service is my favorite hidden gem to the Libris. Being able to customize the archive and set up search and gallery perimeters for different users is great.
The ease of use, the built in FTP and the ability to access anywhere. Being a cloud based system makes it easy for us to transmit, archive or access from anywhere.
I don't have any thing that I don't like about this product. The cost is high, but everything that comes packaged into the product proves that the robust design has been well thought out from the user interface to the admin interface. Libris is build for the professional on the move.

For an enterprise level product based business with over 100,000 unique SKUs, we were in desperate need of a cloud storage solution for thousands of photos, videos, and text deliverables. PhotoShelter is a professional solution at a price point that will meet most agencies or mid-sized companies.
PhotoShelter does an amazing job of storing thousands of high resolution content files. Activity tracking and workflows aid in project management. The cloud storage solution is fast with efficient search and preview tools.
PhotoShelter does include some brand management tools but isn't robust enough to be considered a replacement for a true Product Information Manager. Naming conventions and solid standard operating procedures are important to properly upload, label, and tag files. Batch editing or searches without meticulous up front effort is near impossible.

Ability to create lots of galleries and collections to organize. I had years of image collection that I personally was keeping organized, but they were all over. I had a fresh opportunity to newly organize images into categories that make more sense, and get rid of duplicates that were taking up a lot of extra space. The ability to add my own metadata is great, though not sure we're going to be able to afford that option next year. I also like that I can give give full or limited access to team members. Sometimes people only need access to logos, or one area of the companies images. Nice to be able to control that.
Well it's always going to be cost. Especially with add-ons. But we had to bite the bullet and find a safe place for images that can be used and accessed with other co-workers.

When we began to look for a replacement of our previous digital asset management system, we sought to improve work flow for the primary users and find an affordable off-site storage system. We achieved both of those goals with Libris, who were very helpful throughout our search process, which involved stakeholders from numerous departments.
This software enabled us to offload storage of media from aging on-prem servers, and eased the workflow for the users of that media.
I am not a fan of their per-user licensing model.

Libris is very easy to use. We use this for photo sharing and organizing, and compared to other products, this seems to be the best at allowing us to customize how we communicate with our clients.
The price is the only thing that would ever make us consider trying another product. With companies tightening their budgets, I could see how this would be a stumbling block for some.

The amount of time we've saved on photo requests is incalculable, whether it's an internal or media request. Being able to search keywords and names vs. digging through folders is a night and day difference.
The searchable database is a huge improvement over our previous solution of hosting photos within folders on a university server.
Would like more storage capacity for a cheaper price in order to store more GIF's, PSD files and videos.

Collaboration, ease of use, access to our complete archive .
Love the visual interface, the quickness, the intuitive layout. Super easy migration with a wide variety of upload methods. We were up and running in no time. Customer service team have been joy to work with and very responsive to questions and input for additional features. Quick and accessible sharing of photos makes collaboration very easy.
Expensive up front cost, adding storage adds extra cost. No notifications for folder actions or uploads at present, but I'm told they're coming.

The ability to store and organize our photos in a single location; the ability for all our staff to view the metadata associated with each photo (and therefore keep track of captions, credit lines etc.); the ability to share our photos easily both with internal staff and external guests; the ability to sell our photos to start compensating the organization for the cost of the service.
PhotoShelter has helped us organize and share our photos for the first time in our organization's history.
There are a few quirks with the interface that I would like to see adjusted, but nothing that severely interferes with our workflow.

Ability to catalog all of our photos and searchable by key words.
Many clicks needed before you get to the library of photos. I do not like the landing page with ads for other software apps for Libris. Those apps should be included with the price of the subscription. You should not have to first view this landing page before going to the library.

Organizing of a vast database of images
The software is easy to use. The media/library organization is very efficient. Custom settings are very helpful in terms of allowing different kinds of customers to view images
Website customization is very limited. We sell globally but we are unable to receive payments into our bank account in India as yet. When we sell the same image to two different people, I am not able to customize the price. Sometimes, the price for an image changes based on who the customer is.

I'm so thrilled that I have full access to share my work without worrying about security.
It's very cool organizing the data and arranging them in files, also working on them remotely.
It needs more consideration about the price plans as it is a little bit expensive.

COMMENTS: We vetted nearly ten DAM solutions before choosing Libris, so its safe to say I have good knowledge of what's out there.. I can tell you that no others compare! Initially when we purchased it was about pricing since they are half the price of any other full DAM. Yet, it didn't take long for my staff and our entire organization to realize how powerful Libris is. We rely on Libris to help...

As a company it allows us to have global access to our image library so the benefits are worldwide.
Interface easy to use, but am sure that I only use about 10% of the possibilities. Excellent customer service
Could be faster for uploads. Quite expensive, especially for the video platforms. Should be able to tailor pricing according to services used.

We implemented during a transitional time for PhotoShelter that introduced new product feature tiers. This change increased the complexity of our implementation but our Libris team was very helpful throughout the transition.
The solution is easy to use, reliable, able to effectively manage our digital asset collection, offers great sharing capabilities and supports a wide range of file types.
The solution wasn't as polished as some alternatives at the time of review. However, the functionality, price and support model were right.

Decent. We like the program, although it is a little expensive for the features that we receive.
The photos are displayed super nicely on the website, it's easy to see what you're looking for and it works as a good tool to showcase our destination.
When the photos download, they are in an unusable file format (unsure what it is) that makes it hard for basic users or visitors to use without converting it to JPEG.

My website and my digital files were both store online with other stuff very nicely and effectively
1) As a cloud solution it has done great in keeping digital format of files safe sound and encrypted 2) Pricing is worth every penny for the quality maintenance
1) Back end privileges need to increase and even though it works well automation on stuff is a suggestion that i would give

This software has helped me to organize my photo gallery and also all my work in an efficient way
I think this software is ideal for organizing photos, it's very easy to use for all users and has many excellent options. I can also share other types of files like as documents or videos without size limit.
First, Its price is high and second, sometimes it can be a bit confusing for any users. Especially when they want to download files, I think it should be a little easier.
