Serious Accounting Replacement for Quickbooks?

20/03/2015

What business doesn't write checks? Printing checks is not an option with Wave.

Pros

Low cost nice interfaces.

No check printing. No automatic migration from Quickbooks.

Response from Wave Accounting Inc.

Hi,

I'm sorry that Wave wasn't the right fit for you. We take our customer feedback seriously, and leverage this feedback when determining what features we'll build next.

Based on customer requests for different features, as well as some other factors, check printing isn't currently something that's been prioritized, and as such it's not currently available with Wave.

Pretty dang amazing but no mobile/Android app!

08/10/2016

It's quick and easy to get started and contains lots of features. The downsides are more on the learning curve for someone who doesn't understand accounting. As it is for small companies I think it is safe to assume people don't know all the lingo, lots more mouse over tooltips would go a long way for me.

Pros

Pricing is great! So are the features!

Cons

Android app is pretty poor. It only allows uploading receipts (which is a nice feature). I want to be able to look at my accounts on the go, I'd be really happy with a Native Android app but would settle for a useble web app.

The Best Cloud Accounting I've found

21/11/2014

I started using it about 5 years ago because I was tired of buying the "cheap" version of Quickbooks online to keep track of my husband's tutoring income.

The Wave Accounting: Alternative to Quickbooks

05/03/2016

Pros

Wave promises to be a great alternative to quickbooks and quickbooks line with all of the features a small business needs and small business-friendly pricing.

Cons

What has made us hesitant to go all-in with Wave is their lack of migration support. The process of changing from QB is time consuming and if you're a small business you sometimes do not have the time.

I'd say if you can see yourself taking the necessary effort to export QB accounts and establish them in Wave, you might be very happy that you did.

BASIC Bookkeeping

Wave payroll is also simple to use and effective if you set it up right. The price is low (though there are better payroll providers that compete in price), and the process simple.

Pros

The software is free and simple for small businesses.

Cons

I dislike the slow interface and limited functionality. It is not a fit for all industries.

Wave is top of it's game.

25/08/2016

Pros

For premium pricing you can add in payroll and professional accountant to help out.

Cons

The only choice for payment gateways are through Wave's proprietary card system (which is fantastic and priced great) or Stripe, it would be nice to be able to tie Paypal into that mix.

upper echelon of accounting software

09/12/2016

was a bit leery due to it being free. But not anymore, wave accounting app has saved my career and business. Thank you wave apps!

Pros

It's got pro features that let you run payroll, there's even a mobile app for every bit of your accounting needs, very customizable, easy to jump right into and learn, and has a free version or if you want to go pro version it's still extremely in-expensive.

Cons

Couldn't connect to my Business bank account because it's a smaller branch of bank.

Do yourself a favor, ignore the bad feedback on here.

07/10/2014

Shady accountants and consultants leaving bad reviews are doing so because they want you, the aspiring entrepreneur of the next generation, to roll into expensive software alternatives that the same accountant/consultant can up-charge on at the expense of the business owner; what a shame, I thought the world was a better place.

Pros

billing integration with Stripe merchant, recurring Invoice with automated payments, simple financial reports, easy categorization of bulk transactions, responsive customer support, payroll integration, very user friendly dashboard

Cons

no cost accounting modules, income statements by revenue streams.
