This is an amazing software where you can perform end to end revenue cycle management services for providers which is not complicated at all.
Our company has invested serval hours in setting and learning this software. In the end it was very unfortunate waste of time and effort.

Nextech

Reviewed 8 years ago

Initial costs were managed with a no interest loan for three years and reduction in introductory costs. However, the details were so complicated and confusing for first time users of EHS that the unreasonable annual maintenance fees were obscured as we made our decision between Nextech and other systems. The sales person also did not emphasize these annual fees - he only emphasized the 3 years without...

Pros

As any other EHS product, it eliminates the paper requirements and increases the legibility and service details documentation.

Cons

Entirely too expensive in ALL regards - $1200 licensing fees to even use the product on equipment we also had to purchase to run the software in addition to #15,000 annual maintenance fee and fees per doctor, etc.

Nextech Scheduling System

Reviewed 6 years ago

I find this system a little more cumbersome to navigate than some and a little easier than others. On the fence with this one. The separation of the different modules by function make this an expensive system. The watered down version is too expensive for the parts that you do get and to me don't make it worth the investment.

Pros

The scheduling system is fairly easy to use and navigate. Entering patient information in to the scheduler is fairly easy.

Cons

I would like more customization with the information fields that suit our practice and needs. The flow of the information on the screen isn't as fluid as it should be in order to have speed with entering data.

Nickel and dimed for everything with long delays in support. No Thanks. Switching after 10 years of head aches with Nextech.

Reviewed 7 years ago

I regretted buying this after the first year. Stuck with them for ten years due to the huge expenditure up front and then year after year threw more good money after bad. Ten years later I am finally leaving them.

Pros

Turn key. Honestly can't think of any pros. Ten years ago the pros were that it was advertised as the most comprehensive and complete EMR/PMS geared towards plastic surgeons. But now there are so many other options at a fraction of the cost. So the pros back then and the edge has been lost and over shadowed by the long list of cons

Cons

-expensive -nickel and dime business model where they charge you for every single thing! They sell you an ultra pricey software and when things dont work, instead of fixing it they tell you that you need to pay for more things! I bought every module they had and have been paying an arm and a leg for support but they manage to fragment features into more modules which they try to sell. The money bleeding never stops with this company -outrageous phone wait times for support. Routinely 30-40 minute wait times. -company getting worse year after year not better

difficult to use and more difficult to get tech support -

Reviewed 9 years ago
Pros

At this moment not a thing. We had an issue with back up that was set up BY NEXTECH and all our information was lost - not getting any timely followup or resolve after having to spend money to restore information lost. When the problem started we got an error message that said "your back up failed" - after calling tech support they said just hit "back up now" (which we did) only to find out the program was not backing up properly. They have tried blaming the practice saying we set up the back up system, but we didn't, Nextech did.

Cons

Not intuitive and every little change requires calls to tech support (who are very nice)...HATE the quoting portion of the program. Also something as simple as looking up a patient by a phone number (which is often needed) can't be done while other less expensive products do this and other things needed in an office setting more easily and with less hassle.

Basic scheduling needs and some reporting.

Pros

Scheduling is easy, drop down menus can be personalized. Maintaining providers schedules is simple.

Cons

One glitch that is frustrating is name changes. Once a patient is in the system, you can't change their name or the system deletes their file data. Photos, op reports, everything. It's a frustrating process b/c to make any new documentation legally correct, you have to go in by hand an change every where it's written, which on surgical consents can be almost 20 times. Poor customer support for such an EXPENSIVE product

Reviewed a year ago

It was the worst experience ever. I signed a contract at the academy AAO meeting. There were so many fine prints and red flags. First, you pay within 2 months of contract whether you go live or not. They drag their feet. No one contacts you. You call support but no one returns your calls. They do not want to get you live. They will get your money and drag out the process to fit their timeline.

Pros

Nothing is good. It is a switch and bait.

Cons

Their contracts make you pay 36 months of support without providing any support. Please do not waste your time and money. Find another provider.

I am switching to a new EMR and Nextech has made it impossible for our practice to receive our data.

Reviewed 4 years ago

As a Practice Manager I am extremely frustrated with their customer service and technical support. When our EMR was down it took 3 days for Nextech to solve our issues, they kept blaming it on our internet service, firewall and email server but after 3 days thanks to my IT people they realized it had to do with their security records. Their inability to manage their own security records cost our practice additional expenses. I will update my review once I receive my data, I will add a timeline of the whole data request process so other practices can use it as a guide.

Pros

We liked this product when we first implemented because it was targeted to Plastic Surgery practices and they had one on one tech support, now we feel like another number in their client roster. It is extremely difficult to get proper tech and customer support.

Cons

Customer service and tech support. The software switched it's focus to insurance billing, less on clinical and scheduling

Nextech for Plastic Surgery Practice

Reviewed 6 years ago

If there is ever a programming issue, I can contact Nextech support and they are great about solving any problem!

Pros

I like the ease at which I am able to produce plastic surgery quotes that I have already customized. In addition, all of my surgical procedures and consents are customized so that it is quick and easy to compile and print them. Printing medications from an customized medication quick list adds to the value of this program. Nextech makes managing my practice manageable!

Cons

There are so many functions available on this program, I am certain that I have not taken advantage of all of them.

customer service quite poor.

Reviewed 7 years ago
Pros

Decent layout

Cons

Though we only use certain aspects of the software rarely, we either must pay the FULL support fee or agree to shut down that support of that component. If we shut down support of that component and then decide to use again in the future, we will need to REPURCHASE that compnent ---- even though we already paid the full purchased price for that component alone (EMR). If you make 10,000 emr entries annually or 100, you pay the same fee for support. This is not attractive to lower volume practices.

Nextech works well with fast pace dermatology practices

Reviewed 9 years ago
Pros

We switched from another very large and expensive EMR/PM system. The old software company limited the flow of the practice, and quite frankly just slowed us down. We switched 5 years ago to Nextech and never looked back. The system is very robust and has a lot more functionality for our cosmetic, Mohs and dermatology practice.

Cons

I feel as though they're experiencing growing pains. Waiting on hold for one of there support team members is not fun at times. However, today I called and someone answered my call right away! :)Still better then our old EMR/PM system, where we had to call and log a support ticket and wait hours/days for someone to get back to us.

Horrible Roll out

Reviewed 2 years ago

It's only a legitimate upgrade over old technology. Let's face it, none of us use the same cell phone from 10 years ago.

Pros

Love the product, roll out was delayed by 4 months and then still training was self taught and not organized

Cons

Roll out was miserable. We have been through three different conversions in my decade running the business. This was hands down the worst. No onsite training. My three best employees were sequestered for online training for months and were expected to train my staff of 30 at 3 locations to use someone else's product. This is not Walmart. For the ongiong cost of this product you can afford a few days of "boots on the ground"trainers. Please don't even try to use COVID as an excuse. We've been open for 2 years.

FOR TEN YEARS THEY HAVE BEEN PROMISING ONLINE SCHEDULING

Reviewed 7 years ago

We have been using NechTech for more than ten years. In the early days, they would even come in our office and have used help them with managing multi-person / multi-provider rooms. The cost is extremely expensive. I have a very significant problem with the fact that they do not offer online scheduling. They have been promising for ten to eleven years they would have it. Always, it is just a matter of months or just around the corner. The system is not compatible with any other software so our hands are tied. Very expensive but we might be able to justify the cost if they had fulfilled their promise of providing online scheduling for clients.

Pros

I like the color coding.

No online scheduling. Many promise about offering online scheduling. Costly

Can't run a practice without it!

Reviewed 10 years ago
Pros

The software is very user-friendly. Non-tech employees feel confident when they use the program. Training and one-on-one support is the best. I can't imagine running a practice without it. The controls are excellent; we know where our inventory sits at all times. Reporting and tracking of our patients has allowed us to streamline staff and spend our time on patient care, not in front of a computer. I love the EMR component and wish we did it sooner. There is no doubt that, given all the options available, it has helped to make our practice as successful as we are.

Cons

Cost. This is the only issue I have with this software vendor. Over the years, costs have increased. However, it is a premium product, and you do get what you pay for, which is to say that it is worth every penny.

Nextech from Billing/Accounting

Reviewed 10 years ago
Pros

I like the pop-up warning system and the patient tracking feature. I like how logical and customizable the features are, especially the service codes and inventory items. The inventory tracking system is helpful in tracking current cost vs previous cost and is in general very useful.

Cons

It is not easy to manipulate data in reports to get the information you're looking for. I wish it had more filter options that are simpler to direct. I also wish there was a separate billing ledger for insurance cases or a way to filter out what is visible in the ledger.

Nextech was paid >$25K for implementation of the software. The implementation was not completed when it was learned that the software was not going to perform as promised during the sales process without substantial additional investment. Nextech was non responsive to calls and letters, until finally a lawyer's letter was sent to the company. Issue remains unresolved and company has kept all funds for implementation that was never completed.

Pros

Software seemed reasonably easy to use during demo

Cons

During implementation, learned that full functionality would require additional cost and customization to implement.
