Pros and cons

This software is outstanding. Not only is it easy to set up and implement, but the positive feedback you get from being able to easily communicate with guest, congregations, groups, etc, is non-stop.
It's the best investment we've made for our church and it continues to grow and improve providing the best features you could ask for.
We are doing a much better at data aquisition and therefore better at leading people through a funnel/process of assimilation as well as spiritual development.
Sometimes the integration with Planning Center Online is spotty. That can be frustrating.
The only issue I have with the software is the lack of email open reports. You have to manually check each person to see if they opened the email.
There was too much communication and it took forever to cancel. Then the emails were non stop.

If the church couldn't afford this program, I'd pay it myself!

Instant & easy communication with small and large groups.

Pros

I love being able to communicate quickly with the entire church or with selected groups in a moment via text messaging! Also, they can communicate back via text through the TIC Messenger App. They also help create a guest follow-up system!

Cons

We have had trouble getting our digital connect card form to work correctly at times. However, we can go into the program and collect the data when this happens.

Great Application for Church, Organizations, etc.

Reviewed 3 years ago

Text in church has helped us to remain in contact with new visitors, our congregation, leadership, other church groups. Their service is impeccable and they really care about their customers.

Pros

The workflow is one of their greatest features. Once the workflow is setup you do not have to continue to setup up messages, it's automatically done for you.

Cons

To be honest, I do not have anything negative to say or like the least.

Vendor response

Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words and amazing review, Elijah. We are thrilled to hear about your experience with Text In Church. We will keep improving our system and I hope we continue to earn the perfect 10/10 rating you gave us.

We have used their extensively. It is great when it works

Reviewed 6 years ago

I have used this service for over six months now. We have used it extensively in our church, using the highest package they offer. We have sent thousands of SMS

Pros

The concept is great but the service is not reliable, sometimes you send text messages ant it appears as sent in their system

Cons

I have used this service for over six months now. We have used it extensively in our church, using the highest package they offer. I also manage an account for another ministry, so I have used this service enough to give a useful feedback. The concept is great but the service is not reliable, sometimes you send text messages ant it appears as sent in their system ( you are being charged) but in reality they were not sent, this is one of many technical difficulties I have found using Text-in Church.

Text In Church is the Only way to Communicate

Reviewed 3 years ago

It was the best investment we made in engaging with guests and communicating with our congregation. It's easy to use, has built in templates to help you get started and they are completely customization to fit the needs of your church or group!

Pros

This software is outstanding! Not only is it easy to set up and implement, but the positive feedback you get from being able to easily communicate with guest, congregations, groups, etc, is non-stop. It's the best investment we've made for our church and it continues to grow and improve providing the best features you could ask for!

Cons

The only issue I have with the software is the lack of email open reports. You have to manually check each person to see if they opened the email. Once that function is available, there will be no need for any other type of communications software, this software will offer you everything you need 100%.

Make Connecting and Following Up EASY!

Reviewed 4 years ago

Text in Church allows us to communicate with hundreds in a quick, efficient, and personal manner. It allows time for other areas of ministry, yet ensures we value our guests with effective follow up. Their customer service is quick, responsive, and compassionate. I can tell that each member of their team genuinely cares about churches and people.

Pros

Text in Church enables me to communicate with hundreds of people at the same time, in a personal way. This has enabled our church to grow exponentially by being able to connect more effectively. The Plan A Visit features through Text in Church allow guests to be connected and for barriers to be removed before they even enter our parking lot.

Cons

I wish that they offered multiple lines / user accesses within the same account. I also think that the "app" for mobile use is rather clunky and slow - this is probably the only piece I don't like. I expect that they will improve this soon.

Vendor response

Faith, thanks for the awesome review! Yes, we will soon offer multiple lines. This will be super helpful. Also, we are currently rebuilding our app and can't wait to release it.

Game Changer

Reviewed 2 years ago

This software has been a game changer for our guest follow-up! I am very good at ideas and implementation... not so much maintaining long term... so to have an automated system that feels personal has been amazing!!

Pros

I love how easy this software is to use and customize. It is also automatic, so once you have it set up it runs everything so smoothly.

Cons

I don't always get notifications to my phone... but it hasn't hindered the effectiveness, just my response time.

Vendor response

Natalee - This made our day! THANK YOU for taking the time to leave this amazing review. We appreciate it and we are so happy Text In Church has been a game changer for your guest follow-up!

Great Tool for Immediate Communication with your Congregation

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

It is a great tool for sending out brief announcement reminders, event changes, service updates, etc... The congregation gets the information immediately and you don't get a full mailbox of responses either. You could set-up various groups and send only to the groups. We have a group named ASM (Access Student Ministry) for our youth group. That all our parents and students are on so that everyone gets the information.

Cons

Using it for our first time visitors was not successful for us. Many of our guests did not or would not give us their cell phone #. We had set-up a flow of email and text messages that would be sent out through out the course of 4 weeks to our guests but with out a cell # that would only received part of the follow-up.

Vendor response

Thanks for the review, Eric!

Good way to communicate to church members

Reviewed 4 years ago

realy easy to send messages, either from the web or mobile app.

Pros

It's easy to send a text, to an the whole body or a select group of members.

Cons

It's not integrated with other software, but if all you need is a text platform, this will work.

Vendor response

Hi there, thanks so much for the review. What software are you wanting to integrate with? Text In Church currently integrates with Planning Center, CCB, and Mailchimp. And, others are in progress.

Can't Use it with our Database

Reviewed 4 years ago

We are unable to use it with our current database.

Pros

The option to text church members from a phone that isn't your own personal phone is something that we've wanted for a long time!

Cons

Our Ministry Platform database has all of our contacts, lists, etc. - but the programs don't talk to each other, so we can't use it.

Vendor response

I'm sorry that we don't integrate with your church management system. Currently, Text In Church integrates with Planning Center, Church Community Builder, and Mailchimp. Other integrations will be added in the future.

Great Communication Tool

Reviewed 4 years ago

Our overall experience with Text in Church has been so positive that several other areas of our organization have also subscribed to Text in Church. Support is exceptional. We have not experienced loss of service or loss of delivery in the texting. All in all I would say the software is valuable, flexible and reliable.

Pros

Automated responses and keyword texting are our favorite features of Text in Church. The ability to set in motion automated responses is both time saving and provides consistency to our constituents. Keyword texting and the automatic formation of groups within the software is especially valuable with first-time guests and useful when we are interested in building a group for communication within a specific interest or project.

Cons

Have not found one "con" in almost two years.

Vendor response

Angie, thanks for the great review!

A simple relevant answer to GROWTH!

Reviewed 4 years ago

Text in Church is the answer to so many How questions. How do re raise our retention rate? How do we close the back door to our organization? How do we value people; and so many more...The answer is Text in Church.

Pros

I love the Text in church system! I like this system for so many reasons some including it's ease of use and it's ability to help us automate our assimilation system. The workflows help us keep in touch with our guests and members while at the same time creating an authentic sense of community amongst our spiritual family. I have learned that Culture is by Default of Design and text in church helps you design your culture rather than the alternative of what it would default to.

Cons

I would love the ability to know the average amount of text that we send out a month. Knowing that information would allow us to measure it and utilize our resources best or know when we are not using it the best.

Vendor response

Charles, thanks for the awesome review!

Great customer service and overall interaction!

Pros

This has allowed us to quickly and easily communicate vital news to large groups of people at great ease. And if someone needs to ask a question in reply, it doesn’t happen in “group text” form, protecting the individual’s privacy.

Cons

No complaints at all! Text in Church regularly releases updates and new features!

Text In Church for First Time Guests

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Currently our Plan Your Visit guests are able to sign up for service and get a response immediately as well as multiple staff getting notifications that a new guest has signed up.

Cons

App software needs to be updated allowing the user to have access to the same features as a desktop. We also wished that guests can input their birthdays as well as choosing what service time they plan on attending.

Vendor response

Thanks, Michelle! I really appreciate the review. We are currently rebuilding the mobile app and can't wait for you to have access to it.

Text In Church.... GAME CHANGER!

Reviewed 2 years ago

Our experience has been fantastic and if you have questions they are quick to get you to the right person to help you.

Pros

They ability to set up guest follow up so those who are new do not fall through the cracks. It has helped us stay in contact after someone has come and be able to minister after that initial visit. We also like the ability to put a plan a visit on our site so someone we can communicate with them and give them some invite on our church before they come. This helps out with those awkward feelings for new guests.

Cons

only thing I have is about setting specific dates for txts to go out, which they listen to our feed back and are working on this.

Reviewed 4 years ago

Digital Church Community Organisation

Reviewed a year ago

Because Church is the body of Christ, let there be discipleship teaching, teaching and sharing word of Truth and Life to reach many as possible, healing of diseases and infirmities, teaching in Church and synagogues as Jesus did, the way that everything seen and done in image of christ, some if not all of these services may be there, but just to improve, otherwise rated high

Pros

I really like the way follow-up system works, that is how they remind Church members in important timetables and services like praying together, sharing Word of hope, encouragement to one another through trusted text and emails, to build Godly character

Cons

Improve studying, sharing of word of Christ and prayer that js the key to our great commission in Matthew 28:18-20

Thank you for your review, Emanuely!

Text In Church Has Added Value to Our Church Discipleship Program

Reviewed 4 years ago

Communicating through text messaging and how to effectively followup with guest was our major issue. Text In Church has solved both issues.

Pros

The program provides a means for us to communicate with our members through texting. That was my main focus as I researched such programs however, I was sold when I learned of its guest followup features.

Cons

There is a learning curve to understanding how to maneuver all the features unique to the programs design, this been my only concern.

Hi Jill - Thanks for the awesome review!

This Product Fills in the Gaps

Reviewed 4 years ago

We are using Text In Church to have a process in place that will help us to keep track of and follow up with our guests. The fact that this is an automated process ensures that this is done and does not require any manual intervention. I'm not having to depend upon someone to follow up with our guests.

Pros

What I like most about this product is that it provides follow-ups to our visitors with periodic reminders to come back to visit us or join the church. It also has an option for people to sign up for activities and events.

Cons

I would like to have the ability to add my own forms to use for different things that happen in the church. You are pretty much restricted to the templates that they offer already.

Clyde, thanks for the amazing review! Really appreciate your thoughtful review.

Great Product, Highly Reccomend!

Reviewed 3 years ago

Text in Church is a great product that ensures no one in our church is "falling through the cracks."

Pros

I really like how TIC syncs with Planning Center lists. I can have peace of mind, knowing that new visitors to my church will be followed up with instantly by a text and will go through a workflow process.

Cons

For whatever reason, Text in Church does not sync right away with Planning Center Online. That means if I create a new group and set it up in TIC to sync with PCO, it can take several hours or more to launch.

Great value and product!

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

I like the ease of use of the product, along with the various ways you can customize it. We use this product mainly for the texting component, but will occasionally send emails with it. I also appreciated how they continually are making the product better, there are new features added regularly!

Cons

If you had asked a couple of weeks ago, I would have said a con is that you can only send to one group at a time, but they recently changed that!

Vendor response

Katie, thanks for the amazing review!
