A well working password management

Reviewed 20 days ago

When I was using it it worked fine and security was superb.

Pros

LastPass can be used in computer and mobile devises and syncs very well between those. It is very secure and also handles two step verification.

Cons

It is not as cheap as some other solutions and in some situations became too complex to easily oversee.

Great password storage for the average adult

Reviewed 3 months ago
Pros

LastPass provides the ability to store passwords in the cloud for retrieval over many devices. This allows for users to create unique, complex and long passwords for each service they use without the worry of having to remember them. This as a result vastly improves the average user's security because they will have difficult to crack unique passwords for every service. So even if 1 password is compromised...

Cons

Simply the fact that passwords are stored online rather than in an offline repository could provide an attack vector. But this is offset by ease of use and password sharing between devices. I also don't know the physical location that the password server i use is located. This could compromise my accounts to foreign actors.

Recommend for those new to password management, experienced user may seek other options

Reviewed 9 months ago

Overall my experience with LastPass has been positive. I switched over from using KeepPass when I acquired a year long LastPass subscription through a bundle purchase. The seamless cloud synchronization and reliability of browser extensions was a positive compared to the open source KeepPass solution. After my subscription expired I continued to use the free version of LastPass until they announced free accounts would be limited to a single device, after which I purchased a year of LastPass premium. With my current year subscription coming due I believe I am going to start researching other options to see if I can find something that meets my needs at a better price point.

Pros

Very simple and easy to setup and deploy. The browser extension and phone apps make using LastPass a easy way for most people to have secure access to all of there passwords from any device they might use, the autofill options will eventually result in making the entry of secure unique passwords easier than manually typing in a short non-unique password. LastPass has a free tier of service so it is possible to explore what they offer before commuting money.

Cons

The free tier is only usable with 1 device so to get any real value out of LastPass compared to other free options you will need to pay. The yearly subscription can be pretty expensive for the service they provide. The passwords are stored in their own cloud service which some may not consider a feature depending on your level of paranoia.

My LastPass Password Keeper

Reviewed a year ago

Overall, between Logmeonce, nordpass, 1password, Password boss, and many more different programs you can use to protect your online credentials, i woul dhave to say LAstPass is in the top 5% range. It is very affordable, easily managed, easily accessible, and can be used on every device as one account.

Pros

I have had multiple different password keeper accounts in the past, none that amount to the complexity of LastPass. It can be downloaded onto your phone & onto your laptop so that when you switch from one to the other, it has all the passwords remembered right there for you. No more typing in your username and password every single day on every single account you want to access, it is all automated and done for you@!

Cons

I dont think there was anything i didnt like about it. I still use it to this day and i dont plan on veering away. There is even a free account that still allows you to connect all of your accounts, without any limitation.

MAKES LIFE EASIER - PERSONALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY

Reviewed a year ago

Overall I love LastPass. I did try a few others before I knew that LastPass even existed. If I remember correctly I found it via a yahoo or google free trial. I use the premium version obviously but my daughter uses the free version which is still very very good. I have a lot of passwords and except for the auto login annoyance there isn't anything I'm not happy with. And I realize that the auto login is an excellent feature and it's definitely needed. My feelings about it may not be the norm but just unique to me. The price is great, the software is intuitive and easy to use so it's a no brainer. Definitely something to look at if you are in the market for something like this.

Pros

This software does not require a lot of time to set up initially. You don't need to sit there for hours inputting your login and passwords. Once you install LastPass it will prompt you when you are at a login page as to whether or not you want to save the data.

Cons

There is a button in which you can use to auto login. There are a couple of annoying things about auto login: 1. You have to look under the advanced settings to turn it off/on. It should be, in my opinion in a more prominent area on the page and not in an area that is hidden until you click on it. 2. My other issue is that I have several logins for some of the same websites. Auto login happens really fast so sometimes you have to logout and login again to get in the account you need at that moment. It's worse when you have 3 or 4 logins and it's like playing Candy Crush or Tetris but unfortunately this isn't fun.

LastPass - It was nice while it lasted

Reviewed a year ago

I've used LastPass for years but the pricing update makes it less appealing for my needs. It just feels weird to pay for something that has nothing new to offer at this point.

Pros

I'll be honest. I liked that it was accessible across all devices for free. I could share passwords with other users on the free tier. I like that extension functionality

Cons

The fact that they've changed their pricing structure and are now making you choose between mobile or desktop if you want to keep it free. I've started to migrate back to apple password manager.

LastPass -a Secure Password Manager for Team Collaboration

Reviewed 2 years ago

Very positive as we need an easy to access, but secure, way to share passwords & credentials among work teams and clients. Our 50+ employee agency has used LastPass for 2+ years and we have never wavered on it's value.

Pros

We have a team of 50+ at our agency and LastPass is our go-to password/credential manager. It's super simple to set up, share access and manage passwords across teams and even clients. And LastPass takes security very very seriously with 2FA and authentication a key priority. We have to be ultra-sensitive to security as an agency as we handle so many credentials for client's websites, FTP and marketing tools.

Cons

The UI is good but not great. I find myself wanting to create a folder but the iconography is a bit confusing so I'll create a record. Easy to go back and do it right but I find myself making the same mistakes. The folder hierarchy could also be a bit better organized but it's not too bad. They are improving and updating all the time.

It helps me to be GDPR compliant by creating a secure environment for our passwords.

Pros

LastPass Enterprise is very suitable to enable your users to store logins and other information securely. A very good and easy password manager storing system online

Reviewed a year ago

Reasonably good pricing plans for business, single users or families. Features i love are the NOTES, the notes are really important for me since I use them a lot for any type of passwords that are not used with your computer, example: your alarm system or your school locks or anything else.

Pros

I use LastPass Business everywhere, on my desktop, my phone and all my browsers. It is very easy to use and very practical. The Strong password suggestions is very useful.

Cons

Sharing issues I’ve had some issues with the Family sharing in the past where a family member shared a few passwords, I accidently deleted all his shared passwords in my family sharing center and that person that had shared the password just lost all his original shared passwords (from his lastpass account. I have not had this issue with the Business, but I will make test just to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Hard to get prices with the business plans.

This software changed my life

Reviewed 4 months ago

I originally installed Lastpass to manage my VA's accesses better. Share passwords securely. Since I started using it I switched 2 VAs, and at the moment I'm working on my own. Meanwhile the software embedded itself into all areas of my business and personal online activity, and there's no way back. Before using Lastpass I used to have mostly similar 5-10 passwords across multiple services, often...

Pros

I love how easy to install and use it. I'm also happy with the secured sharing option, the passwords history for each service (sometimes comes useful), and the price is quite reasonable. All in all, great solution.

Cons

I recently became aware of competitor services that allow 2FA directly in the browser. Me still having to use my phone to provide the code via authenticator app is quite a hassle. If there's any reason for me to switch to a competitor app, that would be it.

The Epitome of Convenience

Reviewed 4 years ago

I'm quite satisfied with LastPass Enterprise and I recommend it to anyone I know. It's something I personally cannot live without, and I use it daily.

Pros

LastPass Enterprise is a very useful service that allows users to enter all of their passwords for any account they own on any website on the web. The service is extremely secure, and also has a free version which is very suitable and well equipped for personal use. This product has essentially changed the way I work on the web. I never have any issues when it comes to remembering passwords and accounts....

A near-perfect password manager

Reviewed 4 years ago

I've used Lastpass for 3+ years and it has been a huge help in ensuring my security, and the integrity of my many accounts, are preserved. LastPass is an excellent tool that I highly recommend.

Pros

- The cost has risen since I originally started using it, but it is still very competitive. Great price. - The mobile app is near flawless at being able to input login credentials into any website and app. On the rare occasion when it doesn't work, I can easily log into the mobile app with my fingerprint and copy the needed password. - The ability to not only store secure password, but also secure "notes" is very useful. Especially for writing down keys or answers to security questions. - The chrome browser app is excellent. - LastPass has a security audit feature which checks all your passwords to tell you which should be changed (based on duplicity, simplicity, recent security breaches, etc.). Very helpful!

Cons

- The web app is dated. It has received an update recently but, overall, the web app is still clunky. Luckily, I hardly have to open the web app because everything can be handled from the chrome and mobile apps. - The chrome app, as great as it is, tends to stop working from time to time (once every 2 months or so). So, over the course of the 3+ years I've used the tool, I've had to uninstall/reinstall at least 10 times. - The auto-change password feature has never worked for me. It's touted as being a great feature, but until it works, it is useless.

Password Storage useful when you cannot remember but need to use secure passwords

Reviewed 3 months ago

I have used LastPass for years to store passwords and have been very pleased. Life without it would be very difficult. The price has increased every year, but I have not considered getting rid of it because of the inherent usefulness.

Pros

Generally, this gives instant (autofill) access to all the passwords you have stored for each site. When autofill fails it is fairly simple to enter LastPass and copy and paste. This has prevented me from constantly having to reset passwords I cannot remember or cannot remember the individual rules for each site (like no special characters, etc.) Specifically, by having this password storage option, I can use individual secure passwords for different sites without reusing the same passwords over and over.

Cons

The biggest issue with LastPass is the reliability on non-Chrome based browsers. On mobile platform, I prefer Mozilla, but LastPass only works sometimes in Mozilla Mobile. Usually, I end up having to switch to Chrome to use LastPass on many sites, at least reliably. I also use Opera and Last Pass doesn't work at all with Opera. On the desktop, Chrome is very reliable, and Edge is pretty reliably in terms of working with LastPass. I do not use Mozilla or Opera on desktop anymore, but the lack of compatibility with Last Pass is part of the issue. I feel unnecessarily tied to a Chrome based browser to be able to use Last Pass.

Small bugs can be irritating but GREAT software and value for the money

Reviewed 3 years ago

I love the software and highly recommend it for every team. It promotes strong passwords and consolidates all credential information into a safe place. In addition, it makes entering credentials easier with autofill. The price is right, it works on a variety of platforms (including linux), and it works.

Pros

This is great for consolidating all of your accounts and passwords into one place. And, with it all in one place, it's easier to have randomly generated passwords becase LastPass will automatically sign you in to sites. The free version does everything you need. The Pro version is really just to support the company which is why I pay for it. The value is great, it works on multiple platforms, and it's easy to use. I highly recommend it.

Cons

There are small bugs such as LastPass not offering to remember an updated password sometimes. This can be annoying as it would force you to either hedge against that happening by copying the new PASSWORD into a text file somewhere or change the password again If you trusted the software to detect the change. It may be something that the specific sites are doing but it's annoying none the less. Other bugs include having to refresh the site to get autofill to work or the button to show up or having URL differences force the app to not recognize that you already have a login for this site. These bugs don't happen too often but when they do, they are annoying.

Everyone needs a Password manager

Reviewed 3 months ago

Working with a team means everyone needs access to sensitive data. If someone is unsecure, it can cause big security issues for our organization and our clients organisations. Also, coming up with new passwords takes time and energy. Generating a password makes sure you use a unique password within seconds. LastPass is a low cost and highly effective way to save of hours of repeating tasks, like updating a website or of online shopping.

Pros

LastPass is indispensable for our online business. We manage so many websites of our own and clienst, that it takes a lot of time to manually manage all the information . Saving lots of time and imporved safety are the most important reasons to use a Password manager.

Cons

After using another computer I have to enter the Master password again. Sometimes I wish I could easily add a trusted PC, although this is probably safer.

One of the Top Password Managers for Your Money

Reviewed 3 years ago

The experience was great, minus the little hiccups in the software (duplicated secure notes, some duplicated passwords, etc).

Pros

Before suggesting the enterprise version to my agency, I used LP as my main password vault. It was free and very simple to use. I decided to subscribe to the paid version, and I had some of the best customer service, but some of the premium features fell below my expectations (more below).

Cons

The free version is hands down the best value of all password managers. I understand that it's more of a marketing tool to get users to suggest it to their workplace and that's where they overall make their money. The only complaint that I had is when I decided to pay for the premium service (I like to support businesses that make products that make my life easier). During this time, the app kept duplicating some secure notes that I made. I felt comfortable with the safety, but this was rather odd for the type of product it is. Lastly, they refunded me for my premium service (I decided to go with 1password for my personal password stash). My agency continues to use the enterprise version, and I have no problem with using that as well.

Very good solution nowadays

Reviewed 8 months ago

Overall, very good software and browser extension. Ok price for what it gives. Up until now, our information stays private and secure. I just wish the interface and usability were better. Helps a lot on a daily basis.

Pros

Managing all passwords and secure notes from one place. Being able to use on different devices. Browser extension is crucial to use it properly on PC. Alerts about duplicate passwords and other alerts help educate on best practices for security. I love the emergency access, lets you define someone else to access your account in case you die / disappear (after a waiting period you define).

Cons

Browser extension alerts can be quite confusing. Duplicate passwords alerts on browser extension are annoying and prevent you from using passwords during some seconds. Automatic changing passwords never worked, I think they discontinued. Could be easier to delete passwords in the duplicate passwords list. I did not like the fact that they were free to use in unlimited devices, then they changed (have to pay to use in more than 1 device). Of course it's up to them, but was a little bad move since it would take ages to move all my passwords to another solution (technically if the passwords belong to me, they should allow downloading / exporting).

LastPass has been great. It provides the solution for password management and helps me share my information safely and selectively with my virtual assistant team.

Pros

I love the convenience of having all my passwords in one place. I love the autosave and autorefill services. Plus, I like being able to select which accounts to share with my virtual assistants so they can post in my social media platforms through my account. I also love the password generator so I get a strong password that automatically saves and updates in my LastPass account. I also love how LastPass syncs across devices so I can access my accounts on my phone or laptop without worry of not remembering my login information.

Cons

The only negative aspect is that it used to be free. Because I use LastPass for personal and business, I had to upgrade to a paid account. This is a trivial issue though because the annual fee is very low.

Absolutely indispensable password/notes manager.

Reviewed 4 years ago

I manage hundreds of passwords - some I use every some I haven't used in years. But I only know a few of them. LastPass lets me be blissfully ignorant of the frustrations of password management by just handling the whole process for me.

Pros

Cloud-based, so it's everywhere you are. It stores EVERYTHING. I can sit at a new PC or a spare one in the office, and in a few seconds, have access to all of my bookmarks, passwords, secure notes... It's instant, always available, and very smart with its automatic logins. Clearly, security is a big concern when you allow one program to know all of your confidential information - especially a cloud-based one, so the 2-factor authentication is a must and works seamlessly with your mobile device. No need to sync, easy to share, always available across all devices and takes your privacy seriously. That's a win all around.

Cons

Sometimes the Chrome plug-in feels clunky. It doesn't always snap right to the results you ask for. The Firefox plug-in just feels more polished somehow. The mobile experience isn't nearly as seamless as the desktop platform, unless you're using the LastPass browser, but it's still superior to other password managers I've seen at any price.

Single most useful tool I use (for business or personal)

Reviewed 2 years ago

LP for Business has enabled better cross team (and cross-departmental) communication & information sharing, and has allowed us to more quickly ramp up into new tools and support new hires in getting onboarded - since all essential information is in one central place. Would absolutely recommend for every startup balancing numerous tools and business softwares.

Pros

The shared vault feature for login information has been exceptionally valuable for tracking the myriad of portals/tool logins that our department uses at work - in addition to personal user logins for other business tools. Past jobs I've worked at have had outdated internal wikis or something similar to track this kind of information - which was so much less useful and dynamic. The browser extension makes it so easy to verify login info, as well as generating secure passwords (which is helpful in Customer Facing role at a SaaS company, when users forget their password and need a secure reset).

Cons

It was a bit of an ordeal to get logged back into my account when I lost my master password - but this is ultimately a good thing because it means my information is truly secure for the price of a minor inconvenience

Indispensable, essential security tool, but still has some quirks.

Reviewed 5 years ago

Peace of mind. Security.

Pros

Everyone needs unique logins for every website and service we use. This is the easiest to master tool for creating and managing passwords or across devices that I've tried. It's also the least expensive. The pricing tiers (basic essential tools are free) prove that LastPass as a company is committed to making the Internet a safer place for users, not just to make money. Advanced functionality is paid for by the companies that need it, not by average consumers. This makes me loyal, and I've paid the yearly fee even though I don't absolutely have to. Customer service is also excellent and responsive, particularly on Twitter. LastPass has also finally addressed some UI problems with their iOS app.

Cons

Logins and passwords are not always captured, or saved. Doesn't happen very often, but it does. In addition, I have an ongoing problem with WordPress.com. My main account is on the subdomain, en.wordpress.com, but when I go to simply wordpress.com, LastPass doesn't list that login as one of the saved ones. Very frustrating, and hasn't been solved in the years since I reported it.

Is LastPass Safe?

Reviewed 2 years ago

Security Wise, LastPass is the way to go. I am very convinced that it is very safe to use, just keeping in mind not to forget the Master Password of your passwords. And So Far, I have never encountered anything that seem to be threatening and hopefully would never come across to something like that.

Pros

Totally worth it. The Software is affordable considering what it does. Also, the App is User Friendly and it delivers what is supposed to do, for a person like me who always forgets passwords and uses different passwords on different websites to make it more secure LastPass is doing a great job. I also love how it suggest to strengthen the password when detected as weak password. This I think is very helpful in making the accounts more secure.

Cons

I am not happy with their customer service, as it takes time to resolve issues as they can only be contacted through Email. One of the problems I encountered before is forgetting the Master Password, which made me really upset as the app never store the Master Password, so I needed to contact the Customer Service though Email and it took time before I could get to all my accounts that day.
