    Pros
This tool is an excellent knowledge base. This is the primary use for it that we have, and it does it perfectly.
It is a great great tool for creating documents like PRDs and Information Documents of Projects and then sharing with team members to view and collaborate.
Confluence is reliable and offers a good set of functionalities and features, the capacity to organize and edit documentation online is great.
    Cons
Sometimes I have difficulties with formatting some of the tables as it is frustrating when it does not follow what you want it to do and it takes a while to correct the mistake.
Searching was severely handicapped, and no linking of documents was really feasible. There was also poor management of permissions.
Performance over the last 6 months has degraded and it's now really slow. The over-arching user management is really confused.

    A must have documentation tool

    Reviewed 3 years ago

I spend on an average at least 3-4 hours on confluence everydays since past 6 years. It has become one of the most essential tool for us.

    Pros

I have been using confluence since past 8 years where I have used it as a user, managed it and also deployed it in several organizations. Confluence really changed the game of documentation and has helped teams build internal documentation in no time. Confluence cloud allows to make the documentation space more scalable. The solution is so popular it can be integrated with most of the solutions.

    Cons

The customer support is not the best as Atlassian reliés more on the community support.

Great product for a Small / Medium Bussiness

    Reviewed a year ago

My experience using Confluence is great, we stopped having several places to store the same information or share results, now we share everything in one place.

    Pros

Allows to have one single place for all the company's documentation, this reduces efforts and allow an easy more controlled data sharing. We have very interesting possibilities with other collaboration tools. It is very easy to use, just type, tag and share. Just like using any social network.

    Cons

Even though this is a very easy to use tool, sometimes the navigation is not so easy to understand. Users cannot see edits in a document in real time like Docs in Google Drive. Lastly, some formatting options are quite basic, a little or more options would be appreciated.

Confluence, the knowledge management and collaboration tool

    Reviewed 12 days ago

Overall Confluence is my preferred knowledge management and collaboration platform. Since the inception of the platform and it's growth, I have seen productivity on projects increase and collaboration between teams and stakeholders increase. There are no silos. The teams have been able to stay and maintain being organised and maintain a consistent knowledge base. The teams are not afraid to make mistakes as they know that the version control and real- time collaboration is always there to back them up. Confluence has been a valuable asset to the team.

    Pros

I have used confluence for around 5 years now and have experienced it's feature from it's on premises platform to it's cloud platform. The feature that I value the most is Confluence's ability to organise information in a central hub and promote collaboration not only amongst the team members but amongst the stakeholders as well. Confluence allows for team members and stakeholders to easily access...

    Cons

Using confluence for a long time has explore and urge for feature improvements especially for those who are new to confluence. The user interface for new users can be over whelming as it may be difficult to navigate to document that the user needs. Tutorials are beneficial to new users as user can find plenty of these on YouTube. Confluence allows for many plugins and macros from third party applications,...

    Best collaboration and documentation platform

    Reviewed a month ago
    Pros

Confluence offers an easy-to-use user interface that allows both novice and expert users to utilize and contribute. It's easy to integrate with logging solutions as well.

    Cons

Limited Formatting Options, despite the wide feature set of Confluence's editor, some users may feel that the formatting options are a little more limited than in other document editing applications.

Documentation, meeting notes, and user stories are kept in Confluence

    Reviewed 4 months ago

It's convenient to have everything, including user stories and requirements, in one location for analysis. With the use of keywords and version control, any document may be found quickly and efficiently.

    Pros

Confluence's many features for fostering communication and teamwork are among its many strong points. If your company is past the startup phase and needs more collaborative tools than Google Drive provides (which aren't many), then I think it would be a good idea to switch to this wiki.

    Cons

The most annoying thing about using Confluence is that it's easy to mess up permissions, users can publish content and then disappear, and as a result, you end up with a jumbled mass of documentation and none of the original authors are still around to clean it up.
