How we picked the 4 top rated products

We chose the high-performing solutions on this list based on verified user ratings on our site. Depending on available data, qualifying products either had to be among the most user-reviewed or the most searched-for products in the mobile learning software category. They also needed to have sufficient reviews about tests/assessments, have a minimum user rating of 3 out of 5 for that feature, and show evidence of U.S. market presence. We then added a distinction for the product with the highest rating for tests/assessments based on our proprietary ratings and reviews. Sponsorship or client status has no influence on the selection of these products, but it may impact the order in which products appear.

User insights about the tests/assessments feature

Reviewers appreciate Trainual's tests and assessments for evaluating team knowledge and retention. They find it easy to set up and use, though they wish for more interactive and diverse question types. Users report that the assessments help gauge training effectiveness and identify areas needing improvement. However, some mention limitations like the inability to add multimedia and the lack of variety in question formats. They value the feedback on employee performance but note the need for better integration and customization options.
“These are important because it helps gauge if the employee is retaining the knowledge. You are also able to see how many times the employee takes the tests and it can tell you a lot about a person. If they take the test 7 times in 10 minutes it means they are just trying to learn the correct answer without actually knowing the information. There are only multiple choice, which can double as true or false, or short essays. You are not able to add pictures or video to the tests. ”
CR

Chad R.

Director of Human Resources

“When it comes to assessments, I do wish Trainual had more question types, currently, you can only make a multiple choice question or a written response question. It would be great to have a matching, a good better best, or a question with multiple answers (not the same as multiple choice).”

Moodle logo

User insights about the tests/assessments feature

Reviewers highlight Moodle's tests and assessments for their flexibility and diverse question types. They appreciate the automated grading, feedback tools, and the ability to set parameters like time limits and multiple attempts. Users find it easy to create, manage, and grade assessments, though some mention occasional technical issues and a less intuitive interface. They value the integration with other tools and the secure environment for high-stakes exams. However, some users note the need for better UX and anti-cheating features.
“Due the the way Covid-19 has impacted learnings, the test and assessments section has made it easier to take assessments and set assessments and tests. Classroom tests/ assessments are no longer required as Moodle allows for this feature and keeps track of who completes the tests. It can provide the learner with marking the test/ assessment once completed as as feedback”

“Tests/Assessments or Quiz can be set easily by entering the timing, grade, question behavior, review, and security factors by using a password for secure access to the quiz.”
