Pros and cons

Perhaps one of the main reasons I DO love it is that it is one of the only businesses out there staying true to its promises, even as it grows. I trust them and I trust their product.
Our whole team is so very grateful for Breeze. Their customer support is FAST and HELPFUL (and very friendly).
It was built for churches. It also had a great text to give feature and a wonderful event calendar feature that is easily and beautifully embedded on a website.
I can not think of anything that we dislike about the software.
I still have trouble navigating the system as they have their own language around organization tools.
We have yet to cancel it because we still need its check-in system for Children’s Ministry.

Fantastic System at a Great Value

Reviewed 10 months ago

Very happy with this product. It's integration with Mail Chimp, Stripe, and Quickbooks make it easy to use across all areas.

Pros

Very intuitive and easy to use, customer service is extremely helpful and responsive.

Cons

Since the software was developed for use by churches, there are a couple things that aren't pointed quite as directly at nonprofit use, but for donor and donation management, as well as registration, it works great!

Vendor response

Thank you Kate! We love hearing this! Thank you for being a part of the Breeze Family.

Love it!

Reviewed 4 years ago

We didn't really have a systemized and affordable way to manage our year-round, summer, and winter community membership that empowered involvement, tracked complicated giving, and provided ways to keep information up-to-date. Breeze was the one stop management software we needed!

Pros

Easy interface, up-to-date and instant access to member data, volunteer management, contribution tracking, and online giving. It's worth it's weight in gold for our small parish. I'm a busy clergy person and my parishioners change their info frequently, so this type of management software that is easy to use, is critical to our capacity to keep things afloat. This is the second church I've used it at and will take it with me everywhere, big and small!!!

Cons

Some of the beta versions were clunky and confusing, but the team was always VERY helpful in navigating. The tutorial videos made it easy to implement.

No protection for our company!

Reviewed a year ago

The customer care we received was just unbelievable. NO PROTECTION FOR THE CHURCH FINANCES. We had a church member who became upset with her relative whom is associated with the church and decided to go back and dispute all of her giving's to the church. Breeze refunded the donor without proper notification and allowing our church to provide documentation showing we had already handle assisted...

Pros

Software was easy to use and convenient.

Cons

It was not the software, it was the fact that there was no protection for us as a customer if or when a donor decide to request a refund. They just paid it and snatched the money out of our weekly holdings.

Vendor response

Hey LaPonda, Kris with the Support team here. I'm sorry that this happened to your church, and these things are never any fun! I did want to help provide clarity here. When a person disputes charges on their card, their bank immediately returns the money to them and in this situation removes it from your Breeze account. This is actually not a Breeze piece, but how the card companies operate. When...

Has Made My Life Easier!

Reviewed 4 months ago

I am continually learning new features of Breeze to implement into our operations and streamline tasks. I just recently used the forms function for the first time! Very cool, and the data was easily integrated with People. I will be using this more in the future.

Pros

I now have a reliable system with which to manage our congregation's information and donations. Contact info and contributions are easily accessible for quick reporting. Customer service is excellent and responsive!

Cons

Limited formatting with emails, forms, and documents such as directories. I would like to be able to have more flexibility and design options.

Vendor response

Thank you Chris! We're so happy to hear Breeze is a tool you can depend on! Especially when handling so many important projects and tasks related to the church.

Breeze is a breeze!

Reviewed 4 years ago

We are a small church and decided it was time to come into the 21st century. We researched many options for church management software and narrowed it down to two, based on price and features. The folks at the other site sent several canned messages but never really responded to our questions. The team at Breeze - real people! - touched base, answered every question we had (even the "stupid" ones), and even extended our free trial after a death in the family interfered with our ability to really evaluate the program.

Pros

Easy to use, great customer service, tons of tutorials. If I can't find the answer to a "how to", I send an email and get a reply within a day or two (usually within hours). And having the team at Breeze transfer our data was a huge timesaver and one more thing off my plate. While we're new users, having only been with Breeze a few months, I am very impressed with the program and the customer service.

Cons

Breeze is individual driven, rather than family driven. I find this makes it a little trickier to do some of the things I used to do with my former program. It's a small issue, so far, but I do see it as a drawback.

Breeze CHMS lives up to it's name.

Reviewed 4 years ago

Breeze has been incredible. I recoommend them all the time. They provide an incredible service for a great rate. We were paying more for less before moving to Breeze. Every aspect has been an improvement. The few times we've had a concern, we had a solution within minutes.

Pros

This software is extremely user-friendly. I make the lame joke each time, that it's a breeze when training someone new. It was extremely important for our needs that we find software our volunteers could use with ease. Breeze through its website and mobile app have made our lives much simpler. It's easy to use and train others on how to use. Add in the built-in text and email communication PLUS forms that easily integrate into our website, it's incredible. We've been extremely happy with our decision as a church and love seeing the new updates that continue to come out. It's great knowing that a company is always trying to improve the user experience, listening to its customers, and providing updates, often.

Cons

The only con I have is that I would like to be able to schedule an email or text at a specific time rather than just 'on the hour'. It is small, but it would be great to have that flexibility.

Best for Small Churches or Ministry

Reviewed a year ago

We are a large church and used Breeze just for our youth and children's ministry before we moved all of our Church Management to one system. We still use it today for our annual Turkey Basket Collection Drive. We needed a tool that would allow us to collect online registration forms and fee payments and allow us to easily send emails and texts to people in our programs. We also use the check-in features for ministry events.

Pros

Breeze was easy to set-up and get started. It has many features that simplify church management, especially for small churches that don't need a complicated Church Management System. The forms features was what made the tool so great for our use. It allows the collection of data for faith formation registrations, RSVPS, or whatever data we wanted. Forms are easy to set up and customizable. Users complete forms without logging in and the tool tries to match data from the form to people already in the system by linking name, email, or phone numbers. It collected money on the forms and are easy to set-up. Breeze Check-in feature was easy and intuitive to use as well. The unlimited and customizable profile fields allowed us to customize to our specific needs.

Cons

The system is more for small churches or individual ministries of a church. As a large church, we decided to not use Breeze as our main church management system because we were concerned that it might process data to slowly since we are out of range of the normal number of profiles. While it organizes small groups, it does not have an app for people to interact with other group members (which is a feature we want).

Incredibly easy to use. Customizable. We no longer print our church directory but offer database access (limited to parameters that we choose).

Cons

The only thing I do not believe Breeze can do is split payments in the form feature.

Breeze For Churches

Reviewed 3 years ago

Breeze keeps all our information in one place: church directory, giving, managing volunteers, calendar events, and attendance. Plus it works well with our website and facebook groups too.

Pros

Breeze Chms is an absolute easy-to-use church management system for staff and church people. We can track attendance, issue surveys, plan programming, manage volunteers and evenmore. The church people have access so it's also our church directory. I've experienced excellent customer service. There are trouble-shooting pages but if I cannot find my answer, I inquire and receive an answer that same day.

Cons

The only con would be the monthly fee. It adds up over time, but that's the only complaint that I might have.

Breeze Is The Entire Package

Reviewed a year ago

This software has EVERYTHING we need, plus some! Everything from data organization to analysis. It's very user-friendly & extremely customizable. It has everything (plus some) that our previous system had & it's less than half the cost. The customer service is top-notch. The response time is within minutes (considering hours of operations.) The capabilities of the program are endless, I'm learning something new every day. But the glory of it is that I don't NEED to know everything there is to know about the system to be able to use the features we use most.

Pros

Its impossible to choose, the texting and email integration is pretty awesome!

Cons

There is nothing I have found. if there is a setting I don't like, it can be changed.

Exceptional. I recommend!

Pros

It is SO easy to use. First of all they imported all my information for me. It is easy to look up information, run reports and I can tailor it to fit the needs of my organization. In the past we used church windows which was difficult to use and cumbersome. Breeze is so much better. The help section is well written and easy to understand. They truly want to help us succeed and do well. The emails I receive are helpful too. I just can't say enough good things about Breeze.

Cons

It would be nice to have a financial piece of the software that would integrate.

Breeze is the best CHMS out there!

Reviewed a year ago

Breeze has helped our church better manage communications (text and email) manage volunteers, keep track of donations and operate child check in all for a low affordable price. Breeze is the best!!

Pros

Breeze is supper affordable at just $67/month. We love the ability to easily manage our congregation info and their suite of products is all inclusive. They offer forms, donation management, child check in, online giving and group management all for one price. Every other solution offers these individually and for a high price, and none of them are quite as easy to use.

Cons

The only negative of this software is that it does not allow members to log in create an account and update their information automatically. It all has to be done manually.

Love Breeze!

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Breeze is well...a breeze! It's simple to use, and can be customized to fit the needs of your congregation. I love the simplicity of creating forms and collecting payment for events. Breeze is consistently adding to their product, and they do a good job of informing you and supporting you. Transition from the previous management system went seamlessly.

Cons

Check-in for events can be slow at times. I believe wireless printing is now available for name tags, but that still seems to be a work in progress.

Breeze is perfect for a small organization because of cost and ease of use.

Reviewed a year ago

It has been a great experience. I am still learning what all it can do but so far everything has been a Breeze to learn.

Pros

Breeze is so easy to use. The Breeze team set it all up for me so I didn't have to learn how to do it. The training videos are wonderful. Another wonderful aspect is how fast they are to respond when I need help.

Cons

I don't really have something I don't like about this software. It would be nice if I could link PayPal to them without making my donors sign up again but I totally understand why it doesn't work.

Best Tech Support

Reviewed 4 years ago

We use the database to track our church membership, and it's great. We use a separate Visitor Management System and would like to integrate both into Breeze, but the additional charge is holding us back. So far, though, everything that we DO use Breeze for is seamless. We love Breeze and would use more of their functions if the cost weren't so high. Excellent tech support!

Pros

Breeze is so intuitive that I rarely need help, but when I do, their tech support team is not only incredibly knoweldgeable, but they are also so friendly and easy to work with. They always follow-up their phone calls with an email containing additional information that might help with whatever the problem is. There hasn't been a single time that the tech support team has disappointed us! :)

Cons

I wish it had more colors on the interface. I think the blue and gray is rather boring.

Vendor response

Thanks for the kind words! I would agree (although I may be biased :) our support staff is the best! The majority of us have worked in ministry and understand the administrative obstacles that cause frustration. We approach every call with a servant-minded core value and love what we do. You mentioned using a separate Visitor Management System, I'd love more info. With no limit on the number of...

Very good software

Reviewed 8 months ago

I have used Breeze for over 7 years and I have seen improvements continually. They are very QUICK to answer your questions and have a system where they can actually make a video for your personal question so that you can see how to proceed. What other software offers this kind of training?

Pros

Keeping up with members contributions is critical to my position. I am very pleased with the system and although another staff person is beginning to make use of this software a little more extensively that what I use it for they are happy with they have seen to date and hope to use it to full capacity in keeping up with membership activities and roles. Fortunately, in the near future they will make it easier for people to access their own name, giving, etc which I am sure will be appreciated by the membership once they gain understanding.

Cons

They had some humps recently concerning on line giving but I am happy to say they have resolved. I do like the on-line giving but found it a little hard to handle at onset. I guess I was unhappy and now I am quite pleased. They keep making improvements and a lot of time what they improve on is because we ask questions and they resolve by changing or updating things. Great customer service.

Vendor response

Thank you so much Glenda! For not just the feedback and encouragement, but also being a part of the Breeze family. We're honored to serve you!

Very Dependable Support

Reviewed 3 years ago

I am still impressed and they keep making improvements, many of which I don't use but one day perhaps the secretary will be trained to use for different records of attendance, etc. I an impressed with their customer service. They can answer questions and guide me by phone, email, etc. I wanted especially to have my quarterly statements reflect pledges for individuals who pay in a previous year for an upcoming pledge. I thought I would have to do those few individuals statements manually because I would enter the current year and it would not show they had paid their pledge. I was pleasantly instructed to just change the fiscal year to include the month they paid and it would show the pledge paid and not confuse for their taxes which year they made their contribution. Worked great!

Pros

This software offers so many things that churches can use. In my case, I use the accounting side of the software which includes not just contributions, but names addresses, membership, phone numbers, mailing labels, etc. There are others parts of the software that I do not use but I am confident function as well as the portion I use. When I have a question or problem, I send an email and get almost instant reply along with some videos that explain how to use or solve a problem I am having.

Cons

At this point the quarterly statements and how much editing allowed is limited. However, I am pleased to say that it has improved since I first began. I wished I could download to WORD or pdf folder.

Breeze - software that makes

Reviewed 2 years ago

Housing contact information in one place makes administration a breeze. Identifying groups of people by using the tags and being able to communicate to those specific people rather than the full membership. Texting has been very useful especially for the youth program. Mail merge makes the email personal which is important but also tends to make people respond. The email template options save time, standard emails can be saved and reused, which gives consistency, people appreciate that.

Pros

The product is easy to use. It integrates with MailChimp and PCO both of which we use. The online and personal help is quick and helpful.(great customer service experience). In the emails I can include links as well as pictures. Love the drag and drop feature for profile fields as well as building forms. The form building is similar to google docs. I have created many surveys & forms and they can be sent as a link or embedded which is great. The submitted surveys & forms can be attached to the specific member profile which is helpful.

Cons

Because of the pandemic we have not been using Breeze to it's fullest. I think there is much more that we will discover as we continue to use it. It has text out but not text in and that would be helpful. I find the email templates a bit frustrating because of the formatting. I often type my note in notepad first and then copy & paste into the breeze email, it saves the hassle of dealing with breeze formatting.

Breeze CMS for a mid-size church

Reviewed 10 months ago

We love Breeze....and what I especially appreciate is the customer service and the "Breeze University" feature which is so helpful and easy to use. Any time I have a question about how to do something, I can go there and 9/10 time there is a clear explanation and even a video to walk me through the steps. This is a great feature!

Pros

Our church switched from "Church Windows" to Breeze about 2 years ago, and the process was so seamless it was amazing. We use Breeze to handle all of our online giving , volunteer management and of course our church directory. It is user friendly, not overly "tech-y" but very comprehensive.

Cons

I really can't think of any con's...we have had a great experience with Breeze. Being technology, it has been somewhat of a challenge to get our older church members to access the breeze app etc, but that is true of most technology, and certainly not a reflection of a difficulty with Breeze.

Breeze makes it a breeze

Reviewed 5 years ago

Our overall experience has been awesome! Not only are we getting a financial software that has mobility but we are getting a place to keep information about our congregation as well as Events. We can't wait to start using Online contributions so that our loved ones that live away will be able to easily contribute to the church they grew up in. Looking forward to what's next. Keep it coming!

Pros

The thing i like the most about Breeze is the mobility and flexibility of it. I can use it from a browser at work or at church, my cellphone or an ipad and I love that. I used to be tied to one laptop at my home. Breeze makes it easier to do my job! Another great thing I was able to do.....i mistakenly entered our general offering into a fund called general fund (for the entire year mind you)....

Cons

If I had to choose one thing - it might be the dashboard could use smaller icons and more links. But.....there really isn't anything so far.

Breeze is the answer to opening communication with our membership and staff, and so much more!

Reviewed 5 years ago

Breeze has opened the communication highway for our congregation and staff, with very little training. Breeze Help response and quality is available for all users and answers most of their questions without having to contact me (Data Coordinator). Because members can update their own records and search easily for other members - and map their locations, send emails and text right from Breeze, they love it and our data is more real-time accurate. Our ministries are stronger, because they can trust the data in Breeze, which is easily accessed anywhere, anytime.

Pros

Breeze is very easy. Very little training is needed for staff. Members are currently using it for communication with each other and registering for calendar events easily. They will be continue to use more of Breeze's capabilities. Breeze continues to update the software automatically, for free with no down time. Help documentation is extremely helpful, many times with short videos, which are so helpful! Help documents are easy to email to users if needed. They really like this. Documentation is continually updated with new features. About 1/2 our congregation of 300 are using Breeze. Very few of these have had questions about usage. It is USER FRIENDLY.

Cons

I know Breeze is constantly working on user wishes. My major wish would be an easy way to visualize security Roles for comparison, updating and accuracy.

Best Church Management Software Out There

Reviewed 5 years ago

1. We have an integrated calendar process that people at our church can automatically have specific types of events added to their calendar. 2. We have a clear & concise process for leaders to communicate with their teams through tags. 3. We everything seamlessly streamlined into one place for all things church management, including events, team communication & scheduling as well as financial contributions.

Pros

Simplicity [ease of use] without compromising functionality. This is proven over and over by the ability of all of our volunteer ministry leaders & coordinators to jump into the system and use it to schedule events & communicate with their teams through tags. Every time a new leader is trained on it, the learning curve is almost non-existent. It's not overly complicated, yet it is robust enough to do everything you'd want it to. I've never once thought, "Man, I wish I could do _________ with this."

Cons

Using the mobile app has some limitations, specifically with writing emails [in my experience anyway]. It's slightly glitchy and at difficult to go back and highlight sections of an email to make changes.

Breeze as cost effective ChMS for small and medium size churches

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

Church Management Software various in price and capabilities. There are other solutions that may have a bit more flexibility or capabilities than Breeze but have a higher monthly fee. If you don't use various features or capabilities why pay for them. Others software you may also pay based upon the amount of usage. Breeze is very reasonably priced for what is has to offer and works well for our church. From our perspective you get the best bang for your buck with Breeze. Again this might differ for other churches. When we determined what was key/critical features, what would possibly of use in the future, and compared cost, Breeze came out on top.

Cons

It would be great if a user profile could be assigned multiple roles. this would reduce the need to have to created more customized roles. For example, only some deacons have access to 'contributions' as there are limited number of leaders involve with donations. So this requires a different role for different deacons. There is the workaround of having very specific roles that maybe only one or two users might be assigned but ideally if a user profile can be assigned multiple roles, it would reduce the number of roles we'd have to create.
