I LOVE FareHarbor!! Man, I don't know how I ran my rental business without this service! I was literally using excel spreadsheets to book reservations and everything was a complete disaster. FareHarbor makes my life EASY and my rental business more PROFITABLE!

Pros
It's FREE for me and cheap for them! Customers love booking online and don't mind paying the nominal booking fees. I love having less paperwork to deal with and not having to worry about high rates from other competing services.

Cons
I think it could be a little more user-friendly. I'd like to see common tasks be more readily available on the dash screen and easier for old guys like me to understand how to change prices, availability & schedules with less clicks.

Pros
I love all the features that are available, as adding affiliates, creating promo codes, campaigns, reports on sales, reports on bookings. For the kind of activity we sell this is the perfect tool and has every detail we need to have an exepcional overview of your business.

Cons
The only thing I have not been able to do as I wished was creating packs and combination of tours for cheaper prices. There is a way around it but it is not so easy.

Pretty much everything. Never had issues with customer service, was simple enough to learn so new hires had no issues.

Not cheap, but it was a large company that was buying it and sometimes the ease of use is worth the extra cost

They are professional, dedicated, and they created a great tool for all small-medium businesses that need to be present online with a professional webpage and a great back-office tool to manage the bookings. I really love their product and their service!

Pros
It is very personalized; the graphic is nice and clean; there are always tech team members ready to help you in a few hours; it is cheap.

Cons
sometimes communication is hard online and you need to be patient so the tech team can really understand what you would like from them to do on your webpage; sometimes it is hard to change the webpage on your own as they use the WordPress platform and it is slow to charge.

I really enjoyed using Fare Harbor. It was easy and intuitive to use for guests and management. Customer service was excellent. I appreciated they were always offering new and better features. However, the price was simply too much for me to pay as my business expanded. Because I'm growing, it would equate to hiring a full time staff person. I can't justify that, nor have I seen any data that proved Fare Harbor would be able to 'pay for itself', so sadly I had to leave.

Very flexible system that allows unlimited tours and customer financial options. After trying two other systems in 18 months, we are committed to stay with FareHarbor due to the pricing, flexibility and customer service.

Pros
Allows unlimited plans and customer pricing options. Easily integrates into our home grown website.

Cons
Occasionally we can't figure out some of the more obscure features, but a simple email to support is all that is needed. Instead of support telling us how to do it--they actually make the needed adjustment as if they are actually working for us, rather than the reservation system company.

Customers can book a tour anytime of the day or night without speaking to me. I enjoy speaking with customers, but many like the convenience of booking at 2 am!

Pros
The best feature is that our customers can see our availability and pricing before, or instead, of calling.

Cons
I still have to watch our bookings very closely. There is still chances of double-booking between the software and call-in bookings.

The support is absolutely outstanding, personnalized, attentive, quick, effective. You never feel left alone and any time of the day -or night- you find a helpful hand to help you solve your issues. And then, the whole plugin is quite easy to use, very versatile, and has all the features you may need to manage your bookings.

Cons
Unfortunately the pricing of fh services is way, way higher in France than in the US. Which means a sizeable portion of my sales end up in fh + stripe fees (as stripe fees through the fh package seem to baloon too, compared to stripe standard fees in europe)

We have been a tour business providing tours since 2009 and have tried many reservation systems. Fare Harbor was the first reservation system we used that works the way we do. We have had frustrations with other systems that seem to not understand how a tour business operates or didn't give us the flexibility we needed. From the very start, Fareharbor was great to work with in getting everything setup properly, even helping us transition during the middle of a busy season. Their integration with Viator allows us to sell out many tour dates which has really helped sales.

Pros
I'll bullet point my favorite features. Designed the way we work from the bottom up. Allows us to assign tour guides with ease and notify them about these assignments and send out reminders. Having tour buses, I really like being able to create a route and assign a pickup time to hotels. This information is listed on the confirmation so we no longer have to call each customer to give them a pickup time like our our old system. Booking is quick and easy from the back end I like the ability to see upcoming bank deposits with ease. Deposits have always been made on time, helping us gauge cash flow. I like being able to add internal memos and notes to each customer for special requirements on tour. Review reminders being sent out a few days after our tours have helped increase our ranking on Tripadvisor. Low merchant fees for taking credit cards

Cons
I would like the ability to see a net price for Viator reservations, not the retail price in our reports. I would like the ability to reduce the ticketing fee that is charged to our customer, by either splitting it or even having us absorb it, and being able to test sales this way. Customers often go to Viator after hitting our reservation system to make their final bookings.

We vetted about six of the top online tour booking companies for our walking tour business in Manhattan and FareHarbor stood out far and above the rest. We immediately signed on after the conference call and looked no further. We were so impressed with FareHarbor’s customer management system which met all the criteria we were looking for including the flexibility of being able to use the system for cash on the spot sales, all the bells and whistles related to communicating with our customers with customizable booking confirmation and reminder e-mails, alert e-mails for weather, customer database, less clicks till purchase, fast and easy, good calendar layouts, etc. Cost was extremely important to us and FareHarbor had the lowest processing rate out there. It was an intuitive decision that we would be happy working with FareHarbor but we have been really blown away by what a uniquely smart company FareHarbor is. Since we spoke to many of their competitors we could easily see the difference in how FareHarbor operates. We come from a Fortune 100 company background and FareHarbor embraces the same attributes of continuous improvement, flawless execution and outstanding customer service that are hallmarks of a great company. Ease of use, incredible customer service and compatibility with multiple platforms. Anytime I need additional support, it's a quick phone call or email away.

Cost. It's very expensive but the return on my investment absolutely justifies the cost. The amount of support, additional services and all of the aforementioned pros make it the single-most important sales purchase we've ever made.

Our experience with Fare Harbor has been outstanding. The absolute best thing about working with this company is the customer service. They respond quickly and are always patient with my questions and concerns.

Pros
The system is very dependable. I have never had anyone not be able to book online because of the site being down, I think there are lots of features for the price.

Cons
I could use more reports. I would like to be able to compare years and months to one another. Year to date sales on a chart would be nice. Sometime adding tours can be a little tricky. The only real problem, however for our business is the inability to take a credit card for sales other than bookings. We will be selling more retail items and not everyone is on our tours that will be buying. This may mean dual systems.

The platform is not always super intuitive...there have been several times when I've had to make adjustments to availabilities deep in the settings menus in order to make them function on the the calendar. It would greatly improve the platform to have a semi-automated step by step set-up of new items/availabilities where you could just fill data fields in order to make an availability live. Also, in setting up my account, my 'subscription' based services (people who bought 10 class-packs, 6 and 12 month memberships) was a patchwork system. Ultimately, it has left me feeling more confused than my old system, which was a bunch of notes on a notepad. Retaining my business long term will require a more practical, pragmatic solution to that problem. Customer service has been stellar and ultra responsive...just wish I didn't have to reach out so frequently out of utter confusion.

Pros
I love the manifest notes (once I figure everything out). Great for teachers and company wide communication. Also, customer email correspondence is super helpful.

Cons
The frequency that I have to go into 'settings' to modify availabilites to make them visible, alter price points or apply discounts.

FareHarbor is easy to use, great for growing your business and I cannot emphasize enough how amazing everyone that works at FareHarbor is. I would expect that I'd annoy/frustrate them as often as I call them requesting them to change this or to change that. They even made my new website for me after seeing that I was having some success with there program on my previous DIY site. Great Program, Great Company. Thank all y'all at FH! Big shout to [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] for all the help recently, as well as all of the staff who've helped me over the years.

Pros
I love how the software program and app truly works. Everything that the company say works, works. With other reservation systems I tried, there mustve had some issues with the program or something because alot of stuff would randomly not work or do the wrong thing etc etc. The platform is also very aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, and always evolving/growing/staying up-to-date with the newest features available. Doesn't cost you as the business anything!

Cons
There is really nothing much to complain about with FareHarbor. Of course, in a dream world, there would be a cpl/few things I really wish that could be changed and/or part of the program. I wish I could remember what some of them were at this moment, but I can remember that 'connecting a liability waiver' to my FH bookings/items etc was not as hi-tech as I woulda guessed. The waiver app partnership Fh has is with Smartwaivers. From all m research, seems like a pretty good setup but it costs too much for my business because of the large # of waivers used/month etc (in my opinion of course). And it's not just smartwaivers, most all of the good waiver app's out there are similarly priced, but as i said, expensive per month if you use a lot of waivers. In Fareharbor's defense, they have been super super helpful over the years coming up with ideas for me on how I can set up and complete waivers with our customers for free etc. Unfortunately from what I've found, the ways you can accomplish having a waiver system in your booking for free are not nearly as professional or legally strong as if you were to just use the 'Smartwaivers' connection or any of the other professional waivers, like the one I've been using for the last year or so which is a little bit cheaper called 'Waiver Electronic'. The obvious one complaint is that FH charges customers who make a booking online (on my website for example) a 6% fee, totally seperate and additional to any tax, which adds up!

Fareharbor provides excellent customer service on top of an incredible online reservation system for tour operators or services in the tourism industry with NO MONTHLY FEES. The online "back office" is easy to understand, as one can access it in month or daily views, specify those activities and other features one wants to see, and allows for bookings by telephone, in-store, by affiliates, or online.
