This was helpful when budgeting our needs and being able to find some grant funding to get the process started. I liked the way that we could make changes to the system to meet our workflow.
Currently we are very fresh into the product but I am expecting the revenue cycle management tools to be the most impressive thing for us.

Pros and Cons

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, I would say the experience is net positive. I would note that the eligibility/benefits checks are only accurate about 50% of the time which is a hassle, but I don't know how it compares to other softwares that offer this feature. Partly chose it because we wanted to make a custom history section that could be sent to the patient before the intake and have them fill it out and autopopulate...

Pros

+ Financial reports extensive (I can't emphasize enough how helpful this is) + Easy to communicate between clinicians + HIPAA Zoom integration + Practice Management generally seems to work well/fewer glitches on that side compared to the EMR, just a few flaws like how the balance shows up in the patient portal can be confusing for patients + Works well for group practice workflow + Has all the necessary add ons in one system (and more!) - this is great! + Customer service very responsive about 2/3rds of the time, available by phone and email + After the first 6 months or so, almost all the glitches are ironed out + It is very customizable in every way (forms, note templates, appt reminders, calendar format, html name, really everything about it) + PDMP integration is awesome

Cons

- No Google Cal integration (DrChrono offered this) - Patient Portal can be glitchy - Deployment does not go smoothly at all - Appointment reminders are per-text/per-email and thus very expensive compared to other programs - All the add-ons end up cost a lot per month (claim submission, HIPAA Zoom, etc, even though we own the license we still pay quite a bit per month per provider/higher than what...

Great

Reviewed 3 years ago

Great Implement program. The training is great. The trainers are very patient and great to work with. Overall, the time that is being saved from working with InSync is great, and makes up for the cost of the program.

Pros

It is web based so we can use it any office and at home. Everything we need for the practice is all in one place.

Cons

The wording that is used in the software was a little hard to get used to at first. Takes some time to understand and use all that it offers.

I Loved My Implementation Team!

Reviewed 5 years ago

Rep is absolutely amazing. I bugged the hall out of that woman for the better part of a month. She never lost her patience and she was so helpful. Always validating when I figured something out and emailing back so quickly. She is a dream and should get a raise. She supported my ambitious request to go live about 3.5 weeks after signing on and I'm so glad that we did. Was it stressful? Yes. Would using...

Pros

I love all of the features. Sticky notes, messaging, batch payments, ERAs, form creation, assessments.

Cons

There is no instant message feature. It's a great feature when there is a patient escalating in the room. You don't have to leave them alone to come get someone. Some of the features are over-priced, which makes customers find workarounds. You would get more business by lowering the price because customers would keep the added feature for the life of their time with InSync. No telehealth yet. Please release this ASAP. We have to pay for a service outside of InSync and use it concurrently with the EMR. It would be easier to have it embedded.

Buyer beware!

Reviewed 2 years ago

Started out great, sales pitch was obviously exciting. Once we started communicating challenges, the walls went up. They didn't try to compromise at all.

Pros

There's really nothing all that exciting about this software. The only positive is that it's highly customizable, but there's many others that are. This company's biggest claim is that they "sell" you a software license. So once you pay it off, there price goes down.

Cons

They "sell" you a software license that you can never return. If you drop $50k like we did and the program ends up not working, they WILL NOT return your money. After trying to work with their [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to get our money back, we were told too bad, the deal is done. As a small PT company try to survive, that was a difficult experience.

I only wish I knew about this software sooner!

Reviewed 3 years ago

We had several people on our implementation team, all of whom were great to work with! Each person was responsible for making a different portion of our implementation run smoothly — they sent someone to our office to observe for a few days and understand our needs and desires for our practice, then spent the next few weeks building it out and meeting with me to make sure we were happy with it. Another...

Pros

The product looks a little overwhelming at first, but the team at InSync held our hands, every step of the way and we are picking it up quickly. Even some of our self-proclaimed ‘tech-dumb’ staff members are loving it. We love that it is all inclusive and we were able to streamline so many of our procedures. We no longer outsource our insurance claims processing, we spend way less time on data entry...

Cons

We only ran into a couple of snags along the way, but when we did, there was a team of people to fix them — usually within a couple of hours or a couple days. They’ve also taken down ideas from us for future features to potentially add to the system.

Excellent product - Awsome Support Staff

Reviewed 3 years ago

Once we met with the InSync management we knew this was the company for us. They are "can do" people. They had a solution for every challenge we have. As a large behavioral health service provider we have staff located in many places so we needed a software product that had strong management functions. InSync has it.

Pros

First and foremost the ease of use. The product is very intuitive and easy for staff to learn and operate. Second, the support staff are awesome. They helped us at every step. Very knowledgeable, approachable and always there for us. Also, the cost savings. While we didn't realize how much we were going to save at the beginning. We now know we will save $3M over the next 10 years. And we will be able to repurpose a couple of staff as less support is required with this product.

Cons

Gees, not much here. We are so satisfied. I guess the fact we did not implement it sooner.

Lots of great features, very happy with my purchase

Reviewed 2 years ago

It has a lot of features that other EHR softwares just don't have. The features are integrated into the software and ultimately make me more efficient with scheduling, charting, prescribing, and billing duties.

Pros

I did a lot of research before choosing an EHR software. InSync had all the features that I was looking for in a software to help make me more efficient in practice. I feel like the price is reasonable considering all the features you get for it. Also, the implementation team was great to work with and very responsive to any issues or requests that I had.

Cons

The more features a software offers, the more complicated it is to learn. I felt pretty overwhelmed in the beginning with everything I needed to learn. But, the training they provided was very helpful and I felt prepared when I started. I am getting faster and faster at navigating the software.

Great experience!

Reviewed 3 years ago

My implementation specialist, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], has been invaluable to me and this process. There is never a good time to switch EHR systems but I happen to have had a number of things happen that limited my time even more. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has been helpful and very responsive. She ALWAYS answers me within minutes or at least before the end of that day for more difficult questions. I could not have done this without her!

Pros

The ability to keep everything electronic and stored with the patient record. The tracking/progress of treatment plans.

Cons

It always comes down to cost. I am a very small business and have clinicians that work very part time (under 10 hours). InSync has the ability to do transactional, which is great, but I worry this will be expensive as well.

InSync has been a huge upgrade for us!

Reviewed a year ago

Overall, the InSync team has been great though! The sales force was not pressuring, very patient with our many questions and multiple demos! The implimentation team was amazing and we always had access to them through the process to launch right on time according to our needs. And also, the trainer Adelia was the absolute best - amazing in training our staff who are at many different levels of tech savey ness!

Pros

We found InSync at a trade show we were at and they checked in with us patiently for the next year until we were ready to shop. We interviewed and demo'ed a couple dozen programs and InSync was the one that appeared to meet all of our needs as an Outpatient Mental Health clinic, was close to the price of the others, and per the reviews had the best support services. We purchased in July 2022, programmed and set up til Nov and launched then. We have been live on InSync for only a couple months but so far we like it alot!

Cons

We were really disappointed to be promised a two way text service that was thought to be coming soon and then was not available. Communication was limited in this area and really let us hanging by the time we launched because we rely on this heavily for communication with our clients.

New InSync User

Reviewed 4 years ago

InSync is quality software that has many exciting functions; the support with our transition has been excellent and we have been able to customize the system to meet most of our needs.

Pros

This software has allowed our agency to condense billing, scheduling and documentation into one system, which has helped us to streamline our operations. The portal is a nice feature that also provides many opportunities to communicate with clients in a confidential manner and increases accessibility of services. Our agency was well supported prior to, during and after our implementation. Our Implementation Specialist, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], has been great-- he is very helpful and responsive to our needs.

Cons

There was little knowledge about Medicaid requirements for our specific State and and mental health services overall. As a result, the software has not been able to help us meet certain State requirements yet and creation of certain notes/forms has been tedious at times. Needing to purchase extra licenses as our agency grows and adds staff is also another cost.

Best option

Reviewed 3 years ago

I felt that the company representatives cared about making the product fit our company, not just us learning the product. The implementation specialist was awesome and our trainer was fabulous!

Pros

Insync is the best choice in EHR software. Our company has used 3 other systems prior to switching over to Insync and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!

Cons

The cost to set it up is quite high for a smaller company like ours and it was a difficult start to our implementation process due to staffing. The problems were quickly resolved.

Great value in EHR software

Reviewed 3 years ago

Currently we are very fresh into the product but I am expecting the revenue cycle management tools to be the most impressive thing for us. The features and ability to design custom queries within the product appear to answer many questions that previously required data extract and validation and formatting. This has been especially tough in a small shop where the data validation has been frequently an area that had room for errors in output and aggregation of data

Pros

Dashboard features, the novel use of icons to navigate to the individual sections of the Patient Record, integration of payments from clients and payers in one product, real-time eligibility, very smooth interface with clearinghouse, and communication tools are all standout features from my point of view

Cons

Electronic workflows are a concept that we are learning especially related to a product such as this where multiple features can be configured in so many different ways. We are finding many items that we wish to modify flows but this is a slower process in small shops like ours.

Moving to new EHR

Reviewed 3 years ago

Again, the functionality and ability to tailor the system to your organizational needs and processes is top notch. Our implementation specialist, [SENSITIVE CONTENT], has to be counted among the best. She was incredibly knowledgeable and patient as we asked TONS of questions and made numerous "tweeks" to the out of the box software to make it our own. She spent hours with us, walked us through so many things in great detail and then created several practice specific videos for us that would help us navigate future changes that needed to be made once we were no longer in the implementation phase.

Pros

InSync is fabulous for functionality and tailoring the software to make it your own to suit your personal/organizational needs. The capabilities at times seem endless. Only 1 month in and still so much to discover!

Cons

We did feel that there was a little bit of misdirection at the very beginning of what InSync was capable of and what that would translate into cost for us.

Overhyped

Reviewed 4 years ago

It is better than other platforms I have used, but it is far from the best and is too expensive and underdelivers on its hype and promise.

Pros

It certainly is an inclusive EHR system. It has a calendar, it has secure messaging, and it is supposed to have a client portal.

Cons

This software was overhyped. Someone stayed for a week with the organization that contracted me and changed to this platform, so that they could teach staff about it and answer any questions. Made it out to be very customizable and intuitive, as well as integrated on multiple levels. First, it’s expensive. The telehealth option is $0.04/minute, which at a full therapy caseload would be something like $100+/month. The client portal has not been set up in a year and a half... It was promised within weeks. There is no app support and the mobile browser option are not great. When I have contacted customer support, I typically did not get a response.

A gem of a find!!!

Reviewed 6 years ago

We looked for years for an affordable solution to our EMR needs....FINALLY...InSync!!!

Pros

We were in need of a software for our large mental health practice (60+ providers) that could be customized to meet all of the various requirements we have with our variety of contracts and accreditation. This is just that!! It is very user friendly and has improved the efficiency of our practice a great deal!! Our providers are loving it! The implementation process is a time commitment over 6-8 weeks, but the professionals at InSync were there every step of the way with prompt responses to questions and needs. We are also using the RCM (billing) services InSync offers...so far so good!

Cons

We are honestly so pleased with this software. There may be some minor things that would make our workflows better, but as we recognized those items, InSync put them in as requests for enhancements to their product. For example, we would love to have the ability to send out Client Satisfaction Surveys via the product, but this is not currently a feature.

Good product, great price

Reviewed 5 years ago

Our previous EMR was too bulky and too expensive for what we got. It was very slow and hard to manage. Insync is much quicker and has some features that are significantly better.

Pros

Insync has a quicker response time, streamlined features that work with smaller groups.

Cons

Some things are quite counter-intuitive or more difficult than need be. A simple thing I found today...in the batch payments section, you cannot copy and paste an amount...when dealing with hospital stays, copy and paste amounts would be far quicker for multiple entries.

Glad to have found inSync!

Reviewed 5 years ago

Overall the experience has been very positive. We had been using an EHR for 8 years prior to inSync. We were looking to make changes when we found inSync. inSync has not only been a useful EHR tool, but the transition from the former to inSync has gone very smoothly. inSync has been able to migrate data for over 12,000 patients effeciently with no interruption in providing clinical services. The whole transition was very smooth. Implementation was extremely helpful throughout the process. Now we are using a much improved EHR at reduced cost from our previous EHR!

Pros

Ease of use. Very user friendly. Also allows providers to thoroughly document appointments while streamlining the process, saving time without compromising clinical documentation. Navigating other tasks, follow up messages, prescription refills, are also streamlined for providers. Definitely saves time with its features and design.

Cons

The only negative I have is regarding its appointment reminder system. Needs to be fully automated. I'm told that's in the works and certainly hope that change is soon.

Great value, customizable, fully mobile EMR!

Reviewed 4 years ago

We are a fully mobile, technology forward, healthcare service. We utilize diagnostic technology, we operate outside of traditional healthcare completely. We use telemedicine and other software to organize our operation and to stay compliant with federal regulations and Insync has allowed us to not only operate with a tight budget as its a great value, but has allowed us to operate at our core concept.

Pros

This really is a fully mobile platform. Easy to use on desktop. Easy to use on an iPad. Easy to use even on the phone. The EMR itself was so customizable that our team was really able to make a strong, easy to use, very intuitive EMR to navigate through which is huge because we hire a lot of independent contractors and they get up and running very quickly and easily without hours of instruction.

Robust all-in-one EMR

Reviewed 2 years ago

[SENSITIVE CONTENT] our rep has been amazing. He answers emails almost immediately and looks to resolve issues as quickly as possible. He is unfazed by ALL of my questions. The help center in general is great, I have never waited more than 24 hours to receive a response. Overall, I am very pleased with the systems capabilities and the support.

Pros

This system contains all we need to run the practice: scheduling, patient portal, forms, charting, billing, assessments, and tele-health. I particularly like that it has all sorts of assessments built in and ways of tracking data.

Cons

The cost of all of its capabilities is there is a steep learning curve to it. However, customer support has been awesome!
