Being an importer, the ability to allocate and apportion freight and customs charges in NZD directly to USD purchase orders, then import it directly to Xero, has meant I no longer have to manually enter this info and spread it across a shipment in a spreadsheet, then enter it again - manually, to our old POS system.

Its also has reorder feature which makes life simple. inventory tracking is real time and has both desktop and mobile app support, when you are on the go you still have complete control

Cons

its not simple to use in the starting you have to spend some hours getting used to the system and understanding. once you get a hang of it. its smooth and easy

My Cin7 Experience so far

CIN7's software effectively caters for proper audit trails and transparency during this whole process.

Pros

Transparency and tracking of transactions relevant to Inventory Items.

Cons

For our particular Industry - Protection of our IP is of concern for when employing staff. The system is not currently set up to cater for this in full. Being able to print Bin locations on labels will also be really very handy, because then anyone can pack the stock away without having access to the system.

We love the integration between detailed reporting and connection of our EDI/API's.

Cons

Although there were quite a few teething issues & regular bugs which is understandable, the process of on boarding could be further outlined in a little more detail- would be my only recommendation.

An amazing system with awesome functionality. It has taken us awhile but it has revolutionized us!

Complete business overview and control in real time. Stock inventory, warehouse controls, automatic purchasing, sales, point of sale for our retail stores, shopify and xero integration.

Pros

We are able to monitor each sales person in real time and look at their performances over past months with 1 or 2 clicks.

Cons

Full integration has taken awhile but that is due to our complex business and the fact that we are learning and using every function Cin7 offers.

NO General ledger and Not recommended if you have large qty of inventory

Therefore, if you want to have an invoice include both taxable item and non-taxable service on the order, your customer will be taxed for the service part or you will need to do 2 separate invoices. 7.

Pros

I think the software will be good for a tiny business that only use Cin 7 for all basic functions - inventory, customer management, etc.

Cons

I was not participated in the implementation process so I don't know who's idea it was to create only one item in Quickbooks and when import data from Cin 7 to QB it only imports the amount of the total sales of line items to Quickbooks and descriptions but no inventory movement and no record of number of qty of products sold.

This Inventory and POS Management System eliminates the need for manual data and stock updates on all platforms which includes website, amazon, other fashion platforms, Dispatch, 3 Stores, plus any pop ups we do around the country.

Pros

That it is API compatible with most other platforms including Shopify and Amazon. wYse lifestyle also has 3 Fashion Stores, with more pop ups around the country.

Cons

That there is a lot of background work to do first before launching, especially going from an on premise inventory and pos with no API integration capability and poor quality csv files.

Our company recently moved our stock in to a 40k SqFt warehouse, and had no inventory tracking system other than spreadsheets which were sporadically updated.

Pros

It makes the PO creation process so easy. The reporting is really great as well

It is great that I can get so many things customized and it seems like there is no issues with anything that I ask for.

Pros

REPORTS Something that is very important in regards to stock and inventory is the Barcode/SKU as this is the one common thing that runs through all API, integrations etc. in my opinion these so these should be available for every report.

SOH should not include any inventory that has been pre-sold.

It sets itself apart from other software because of its ability to provide a point of sale, inventory management, and a wholesale capability.

Pros

Great and in-depth reports, Very quick and functional, Easy to use, Can have customization built into it to suit your business.

Cons

It can lag or go down. This seldom happens in fact, it's stopped happening recently so for the last 3 months I can't say it went down even once. I think it was due to the increase in fees which in return yielded a better working system.

We could easily get sales figures, sales by product, COGS breakdown, etc information from Reports and it's easy to import data from Cin7 to Xero.

Pros

Cost of goods sold breakdown report is really helpful.

massive cost savings on errors made in our previous systems, provides precise stock management, consolidated all accounting software and has allowed me to feel in control of our inventory.

Pros

Such as; keeping track of inventory to maintain consistent stock flow, managing deliveries and completing purchase orders.

Cons

I would only say that I wish the personal onboarding assistant lasted until you were completely comfortable with the system, not just the first 30 days and I think the program could be even better than it already is if it helped build customers reports.
